I said I HAD an orthopedic dr & a neurologist- he told me I needed to get them... 3) I came in for chronic pain and medication management bc my primary care doctor is in the group of drs afraid to give their patients what they need( non-narcotic or narcotic!) and this dr, while nice enough, was basically telling me to see multiple specialists who will in turn send me BACK to pain management! 4) As well as the "school of thought" that WOMEN just need to take an antidepressant and then EVERYTHING will be magically better- ya, ummmm NO! I am about to undergo a third hip surgery in a year- this one a full replacement due to a car accident so I'm pretty F'ing sure an antidepressant won't do shid to help. She is an awesome first impression to Dr Hawa! Getting here was easy and convenient. I recommend bringing a jacket with you, the office is very cool. Meeting Dr. Hawa was similarly great. He's a warm, friendly, and boisterous guy who I instantly liked. We hit it off talking about barefoot shoes and I quickly learned that he's a fountain of interesting tips and facts. Next, we began the patient interview and his line of questioning let him diagnose what was going on and sure enough, his corrective actions brought immediate relief. I like that Dr. Hawa is also in sports medicine and rehabilitation because he has a lot of exposure to athletes and their various ailments. As an avid indoor rock climber, we were able to talk through the pain I'd been experiencing, what I'd done to cause it, and exercises I could do to help strengthen and prevent this from recurring. He even showed me pictures from a medical book to better illustrate what was going on with my body. After some painless adjustments, he used interferential therapy, a kind of electronic stimulation therapy. I later looked it up and unlike TENS therapy which sends a current across your skin, interferential penetrate deeper providing some pretty legit relief. On top of the interferential therapy, he placed a heating pad on the affected area.

Her sunny disposition coupled with her knowledge and true care for her patients is second to none. This is not one of those offices where you're there for 5 minutes, get a quick neck and back twist and then get sent on your way. Dr Strand takes the time to understand and evaluate what's causing you pain and then does everything from pressure point massage, teaching you rehab exercises to do at home, as well as a thorough adjustment. The new office is great! Sharon at the front desk is lovely and the office has multiple treatment rooms that offer muscle stim, ultrasound treatments, rolling tables (I'm sure there's a more technical name for it, but whatever...it's heaven!), and an area to do stretch and rehab work.
