This place looks smaller outside than it is inside. The interior is beautiful, bright, with high ceilings making it an inviting atmosphere. At the front desk where I was greeted as soon I walked in, was a koi fish pond. The one thing I didn't expect, and I should've taken photos of it, was their menu... it only had pork, miso, vegetable, and a seafood broth. I really wish they had beef as an option. However everything I tried was delicious, and I don't consider any one item better than the other. It was all delicious and you really can't go wrong going to ramen and bao if you're in the mood for a light and hearty savory dish. I don't eat ramen often but the next time I decide it's time to eat some, this is the place I'd hit up.
We've been here twice and everything we've tried so far had been absolutely delicious! The staff are very friendly. They have a mini pond with koi fish when you enter-- it's a nice touch. Nice quiet atmosphere. It has definitely become my number one choice for Ramen or dim sum type dishes.
Easily the best soup dumplings I've had in CT, and might even be some of the best I've ever had. I've been to Ramen and Bao about four times just in the month of May - early June. I don't really view Oxford, CT as a culinary destination, so I was extremely surprised at the level of quality when we discovered this place within the beautiful Quarry Walk complex. Many of the soup dumplings we've had in the past are filled with fatty pork, with the "soup" simply tasting like the oil and grease from the fat. The soup for the pork soup dumplings here actually tasted like flavorful BROTH, and the filling inside was a lot more balanced. The Dandan noodles, although the way they make it may not be the most authentic, receives high marks in my book. They use knife cut noodles (although I'm assuming they're store bought and not made in-house) topped off with a spicy and flavorful sauce that's not covered in oil or Sichuan peppercorns. The same high praise goes for the red oil dumplings. The filling was perfect - a good amount of meat and not too fatty - and the sauce was authentic as can be. We've had the same server every time we've been there, and she just gives me the impression that she's been in the business for awhile. Always prompt, attentive and professional, watchful from a distance without feeling like she's hovering over you. She lets us eat in peace and has us out in a timely manner when we're done. The whole staff in general seems organized and well trained. The only thing we would nitpick is sometimes they just have someone relaxing in the chair at the entrance when they're less busy, which takes away from what otherwise feels like a very professional atmosphere. The inside is clean, modern, and minimal. They even have a pond in the front of the restaurant with koi fish inside! I loved the cohesive branding - everything from custom plates to utensils felt designed specifically for enjoying their delicious soup dumplings. It feels like a franchise that specializes in soup dumplings, not just a restaurant that happens to serve them. All that being said, we've tried the tonkatsu, curry, and braised beef noodle soup, and they've all been fairly pedestrian. The meats could be a little more tender, and the broth are all on the lighter side. The R&B ramen on the other hand does stand out, and we do recommend trying that. Admittedly our last experience there wasn't as good as the first three times. The pork soup dumplings were average, and the Dandan noodles came drenched in a soup of sauce, drowning the dish in what previously came lightly topped with sauce to be mixed with the noodles. Maybe it was a different chef who cooked the meal this time? We won't let this one experience deter us from coming back however, and maybe it was just a sign for us to try some other places on my list in the meantime. If only they were located a little closer to the New Haven area though!
My wife has been back a few times, but I finally came back for my second visit. She was craving soup dumplings. We ordered two varieties of them plus a couple other things - all excellent. I'd say I'm looking forward to trying other things next time but my wife is a creature of habit and I think our order will always be the exact same.
I'll admit. I don't think I had even been to Oxford before even after being a CT native. So imagine my surprise when folks told me about this place. Sure it was good, but probably just good for Oxford, I thought. Nope. This place is legit good. Like the soup dumplings are probably the best we've had in CT. Black truffle and pork soup dumplings. They give you a bowl too instead of just slurping out of a big spoon (though they have that too. And soup dumpling vinegar that was the perfect complement. But the dumplings themselves had rich broth and tender inside. And the wrapper was just right. Not too doughy but not too thin too. The other apps were great too include the pork and chive dumpling and the Korean fried chicken. The ramen was excellent. Not too salty and a rich broth. Definitely in the conversation for being the best in CT. The truffle and duck ramen was unique. I got the signature ramen. Everything was nearly perfect though I might've slice the beef a little thinner. Still great though. Service was quick and friendly and the interior is bright and modern. A true winner and worth the drive. Yes in Oxford.
Even a year later and the quality persists. Went here to support Oxford after the floods since the Quarry was still open. Second time getting the soup dumplings and I could devour 20 of them I swear! The service is always attentive since it's not a large place. Even when all the tables are full it's still a pleasant place to dine, they did a great job.

Always wanted to try soup dumplings and all the food did not disappoint! We ordered so much food and the check was reasonable! Would definitely go back again with more friends and family. The service was great and the ambiance was clean, bright and not too loud like most places. read more

My favorite ramen place! The signature soup dumplings are full of flavor and the combination of the beef with hearty broth and ramen is lovely. Add the hot chili oil to everything and anything if you love spice! The service is quick and friendly while the sound of trickling fountain is calming and peaceful. read more

I love coming here with my daughter when my Hubby is traveling on business. We love eating here. We like to order a bunch of appetizers instead of getting the ramen. We've ordered the Ramen bowls before and can never finish it. The broth is wonderful but sometimes find the noodles too mushy. The Dan Dan Mian dish is a a good alternative for the ramen bowl. read more
Beautiful beautiful restaurant and an even more lovely experience, the ramen was bursting with flavor and each bite only enhanced the dish. I recommend using the chili oil to make the broth more savory as well. The staff is very accommodating and will easily remove or put to the side any unwanted elements of the ramen dishes. My only complaint is that the wonderful workers don't have name-tags!!! How can I compliment someone I don't know the name of lol Lots of seating! Very modern wood style! What a hidden gem in Oxford, CT. Surrounded by chain fast dining favorites, skip those and come here instead. Normally I'm not a fan of this style of food (including Chinese food; too much sauce or too greasy) but this food was amazing and comforting. The food was delicious, flavorful and the atmosphere was casual and peaceful. My 10 year old loved looking at the coi fish in the front of the restaurant. Something fun for the kids to look at. All of the food was flavorful and I loved the Jasmin Green Tea to compliment it all. I noticed a lot of takeout orders moving out as well. We were visiting from out of town and I do hope this local gem will stay in business a long time for us to return to on my next visit back. read more

We were near the area on a road trip and decided venturing into this town for a cozy bowl of ramen was worth it. And this spot didn't disappoint! He had the kimchi ramen and said it was wonderful. I had the signature bowl and loved the rich flavor of the beef and the lighter shrimp element. The shrimp did have a slightly gummy texture on the outside - not sure the cause. It wasn't off putting, just something I've noted with shrimp before. The pork soup dumplings were a fabulous treat - a worth of art, really. Service was fast and friendly. read more

First time here and pretty new to the world of Ramen. Our waiter was really helpful and recommended pork dumpling soup. He also showed us how to eat it without Scalding our mouths. I also had the duck soup and it was excellent. Overall a great meal with great service! read more
I'm a fan of owner Jin from his other restaurants Natural Kitchen (specializing in poke, etc.) Milford and Tomo 68 (specializing in Sushi, etc.) in Naugatuck. I was excited to hear that he planned to open a ramen and bao place in Quarry Walk in Oxford. I was able to visit about one month after they first opened. I had a great first impression from the restaurant appearance. RNB has a sleek and modern look featuring light colored woods and walls, and a medium grey floor. There's a koi pond when you walk in. Very classy atmosphere. The servers were friendly and efficient. That may have been challenging for them, because every table was full by about 12:30 after their noon opening. That's a great sign one month in. My Duck and Black Truffle Ramen was on par with my other fav CT ramen places. The pork-based broth was mild. The wheat noodles tasted fresh and had good chew. The duck was plentiful, tasty and tender, and artfully arranged on top. The bok choy was vibrant green and had peak texture. The egg yolks were just set and still pliable. The thin sliced black truffles and mushroom pieces were perfect. I've never had a ramen quite like this, and I was impressed. Five Stars read more

My first time trying this spot and Im glad I did. It took a bit for someone to take my order and someone who sat five minutes after I did ordered first. However, once my server did come over he was very nice. I had scallion pancakes which are the best Ive had in a long time. I ate the whole basket and I probably should not have. My entree was a noodle dish. Spicy noodle, with minced pork, scallion, toasted with sesame oil and peanut butter sauce. Nice size portion, came out hot and spicy enough that it cleared my stuffy nose which I Really needed. Im hoping I can visit again soon. Wishing it was closer to where I live in Newtown. read more

Good ambience. Clean interior. Nothing to rave about. Had the curry ramen which was OK. The chicken on top was fried nicely but I wasn't a fan of the actual noodles. Also had the Pork Seared Bao which was just OK as well in my opinion. The highlight of the meal was the fried rice which was fried very lightly. It tasted very fresh, non greasy, and light. I would appreciate a bit more seasoning but as is it definitely hit the spot. The Karrage was fried very nicely and came with fried garlic on top which I enjoyed. Also a nice sauce. Overall 3.5 stars, the aesthetic and value are there but a bit lacking in taste but in this economy I wouldn't write off ramen and bao. read more

A wonderful place to stop by when you're in Oxford! My friend and I came here for a late lunch after hiking in Southford Falls State Park. -Papa Pig Bao: 5/5 Aka, steamed custard buns! The designs were so cute that we felt guilty for tearing them apart to share and eat them. Came out piping hot and perfectly sweet. -R&B Signature Ramen: 4.2/5 Everything about this dish was really tasty EXCEPT for the beef... the marinade tasted a little off to me? But it did come in a decently good portion. I enjoyed the rich broth, yummy noodles, soft-boiled egg, and veggies. Staff was very friendly but food came out a bit slowly (~20 min) despite the restaurant not being that busy. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a try! read more
