Hakata Shio

Its not good. Noodles were overcooked and the broth had little flavor. There's cup of noodles/packaged ramen with better noodles and more flavorful broth. The only positive thing about the ramen was that they give 2 fat juicy pieces of charsiu. It was fast service and in a nice busy spot in the red light, only problem was that there wasn't a lot of people eating there. Do what you want with this info for I won't be coming back, unless the flavor of the broth improves and the chefs take it easy on boiling the noodles. Noodles should have a slight firmness to it and not be the soft mess that was in my bowl. Place must be a hit or miss since some rave about this place, but for me and my friends, it was a complete miss.

It's hard finding a nice big restaurant in Amsterdam, however Ramen Ya is it!! This place came highly recommended and it surely did not disappoint! They were so welcoming and allowed accommodations with their menu items.

January 30th, 2024 party of 3 for late lunch $84.21 We ordered 3 ramen noodle bowls (2x Hakata & 1 Vegetable), 2 extra noodles, 2 edamames, 3 sodas, 1 water, 1 melon drink, 1 tea We throughly enjoyed our experience, very nice bowl of ramen on a cold drizzly day then we all took really good naps Service was great and everything was delicious

Found a good ramen spot after a long day of walking. We were seated in the basement and for a while there, we were just by ourselves. Fortunately we were in good spirits and just loving and laughing about life .

Great Ramen! Excellent service. In a city with endless food choices, Ramen Ya hit the spot for a quick bowl of Ramen. Broth and noodles were both excellent. My friend got the pork buns and said they were great as well.

Karaka-Men

I really enjoyed the Karaka-Men Ramen here. I'm visiting from California and every few weeks I tend to visit my local ramen spot. While on vacation I decided to stop by Ramen-Ya and I was not disappointed. Their broth was delicious and the spice level was really nice and added just the right amount of flavor.

Decent ramen shop in Amsterdam near the canals and the center of the action (literally just a couple feet away from Bulldog Coffee Shop.) Something about the cold air and rainy day just makes me want to eat a bowl of ramen despite being on vacation, but Ramen-Ya didn't make it seem like such a bad idea because the quality of the meal was truly great. I ordered my favorite tonkatsu ramen which had an extremely creamy broth with amazing cuts of meat while my boyfriend opted for the chicken kara-age which was extra crispy and just the right temperature to warm us up. I don't know if I'd immediately make it my next stop whenever I'm back in Amsterdam but we definitely were not disappointed with the food and that's certainly worth noting. (27/100--2020)

Gyoza- delicious! Ebi Furai- crispy and delicious! Sesame Chicken- 3/5, the broth could've used a little bit more flavor. I'm willing to try it again though. Sake jelly shot- my first time trying it & it was great! I wish I could find them where I live!

I walked by at dinnertime and felt like ramen so it worked out. It wasn't crowded inside and I was seated immediately. I ordered a deluxe shoyu, with an extra egg, and a large Heineken. There was an item that sounded like it could be spicy in the deluxe shoyu, so I asked the waiter how bad it was. He said it wasn't too bad but they could put it on the side, so I could still the deluxe shoyu. I agreed. So maybe it should have been in it because I didn't think the ramen was that delicious. He was right that it wasn't that spicy but still spicy enough to put on the side. I thought it tasted better than the ramen bowl. When I was ready to go, I paid at the register and went out, up the stairs.

I found out about this place on Yelp and like all the reviews say this place is amazing. One of the best ramens I've had.

Kimchi Ramen

On a rainy, cold Amsterdam afternoon, we were needing some hot soup for an afternoon snack, so we popped in to try the Ramen and a drink. We were seated promptly, as a group was leaving as we entered. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had the Kimchi Ramen and the Chicken Buns. The Kimchi Ramen was great!!! And, the buns were just as good. A great place for a tasty bowl of Ramen.

Ramen with corn added. Yum

The broth tasted of flour and the noodles did not seem to be cooked.

Great food and service. Their portions are massive so be prepared for that. Recommend the chicken gyoza and any of the ramen dishes

The soup bases are all very heavy (and salty). Nothing "light". It's a nice atmosphere and setting. The service was good, as well.

Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
