Such a cute foodhall! I wish I wasn't by myself so I could get more food. Wings: 10/10. Sauced but still crunchy!! I got the buffalo. They were amazing. Maybe tooo much sauce but I just stacked my bones on the bottom so the wings weren't soaking the entire time. Crepe: 8/10. It's a crepe!
Stayed nearby and came here twice. Great vibe, friendly staff, great drinks, and lots of food options. Can be crowded, but well worth it.
De Foodhallen in Amsterdam was a perfect spot for trying a variety food options under one roof. We started with pizzas--a classic margarita and a salami pizza. Both had a deliciously crisp crust, thin yet chewy, just as good as you'd find in a pizza joint. Next up was the dim sum from the Chinese stand. We tried several items including Har Gow, charsue bow, sesame balls, xiao long bao, and green onion pancakes. Everything was impressively cooked, with the steamed items cooked very nicely. It could rival some dedicated Chinese restaurants I've visited. From the Japanese stall, we ordered a salmon and avocado hand rolls, which turned out to be generously packed with fresh fish, avocado and other ingredients. The flavor balance was excellent, and it was clearly made with care. The venue itself is spacious and welcoming, with long communal tables that easily accommodate groups. However, on the day we visited, it was particularly hot inside, due to the heat wave combined with heat from the cooking stations. I appreciated the attentive staff who consistently came around to clear plates and tidy up, ensuring the tables stayed clean despite the busy crowd.
Get there early or be prepared to not find any seating. Tried the bitterballs (10 for 17 euro) , calamari from Mer Du Nord (medium 10.99) and a cocktail at gin & tonic (11.50) Everything was fresh and hot. Customer service is also excellent. I'd stop by if you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to do
I had such an amazing experience at this food hall! There's so many food options here and every stall I've tried was delicious. Beware, it does get packed and it can be hard to find seating during peak lunch and dinner times. I had an Aperol spritz, the bitterballen sampler, and a sushi platter. Food was delicious. I wish I had more space in my stomach to try more stalls. I will definitely be coming back to try the other stalls the next time I'm in Amsterdam.
Diverse food options at this food hall, including many international finds. I was hoping for some proper Dutch food (as a tourist) but didn't see any. The area is spacious with lots of seating and it's easy to order from the vendors.
This food hall would make a great place for a first date--or just to hang out with friends and family. There are tons of options to choose from, and we actually tried to rank the food from best to worst, but it was impossible because we loved it all! If we had to pick, the wings took the top spot thanks to their delicious sweet and spicy sauce, followed by the butter chicken and then the dim sum. Service was decent--nothing extraordinary, but quick and efficient. You get a buzzer and pick up your food when it's ready. Overall, we had a great time!
There's such a great variety of cuisines and different foods here, which makes it a really fun spot to visit. There's plenty of seating, but it can get tricky to find a spot when it's busy. The best thing we had were the Parmesan truffle fries from The Rough Kitchen. The Bitterballen from De Ballen Bar is also a must-try if you're visiting Amsterdam.
I can't wait to go back. I love the sheer number of bars in this place. Such a large selection of unique foods. Service was fast and friendly. I tried 7 locations and I think the dim sum was one of my favs as well as the hotdog place.

Unless.... you were to simply go to De Foodhallen and literally do just that! Have some Haring! Bite a few Bitterballen! Partake in Poffertjes or possibly Patat! They have Pannekoeken aplenty! The Stamppot is nice and hot! Even Kibbeling for For chrissakes! If you're staying in Dam Square, it's worth the effort. For a couple euro, you can hop the rail and be there in no time! Don't miss out and attempt to recreate this single seating event by going to eight different restaurants. Be around the people and try some of everything!

During my day trip I stumbled across this foodhall and decided to go in. I love visiting food halls and have been to a few back home in states for date nights. Super cool atmosphere and good selection of food, drinks and desserts. It was busy but I was able to sit and enjoy my sushi and drinks before the night crowd came in. I hear the evening vibe is like a club vibe and has DJ's . It was cool to check off a foodhall in Amsterdam for sure ! read more
Visited here and opted for a taste of Indian food. We had butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, vegetable samosas & garlic naan . All very tasty. Everyone orders for themselves and finds a table to dine. There is an upstairs section to sit with a birds eye view of everyone below . Ambiance is great for people watching while enjoying your meal or glass of wine" liquid". read more

This food hall definitely receives a 5 star since there is a variety of cuisines to choose from and tables everywhere to hang out. This place was so busy in the evening. I tried the dumplings as this was the place closest to our tables meeting up with friends. They give you a buzzer so you know when your food is ready. Cannot go wrong with this place. read more

I love a good food hall! And this one? You wouldn't even know it was there unless you knew exactly what you are looking for! It is a bit chaotic - with tons of people, even on a weekday for lunch - so finding a seat can be a bit difficult. However, there are so many food and drink options - and those that cater to all dietary restrictions! My friend and I tried the Vietnamese stand; there were delicious spring rolls and a yummy, fresh summer roll with shrimp. Then, my friend tried the vegan sushi and really enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a spot to accomodate to many different diets or preferences! read more
A must visit in Amsterdam - this food hall reminded me of some classics in NYC with more space to sit and variety of food selections. There were seafood options, tacos, desserts, bars, East Asian food etc... Friend and I decided to get lychee drinks and asked for recommendations from the bartender. She was so sweet and helpful - everyone is very friendly here. read more

Great spot for friends to hang and get a bite to eat. All type of Music was playing which was cool. Ok now for the food, Sticky wings were good but they were tiny. The calamari was slammingggg!!! The codd bites were amazing as well. They were nice size and seasoned well. I did not eat the oysters but friends said they were good. We all had some gin and tonic tonics and a real ginger ale. This trip was totally awesome, it's so nice to see how real food taste. America needs to get their act together.. read more

This place is overhyped and I am not sure about the reviews here. The one great thing I can see about this place is it has all kinds of food so it caters to many types of customers. However, a big con is this food hall was over crowded with no seating and food takes a long time to get. We got the Bitterballen (Netherland street food) flights from De BallenBar since it was the only Dutch food stall we saw and they tasted just okay to me. The balls were lacking in flavors in my opinion. After we waited for half an hour to get our food, we have to fight the crowds to get out, and stand outside to eat our food since all the seating inside the hall was taken. The over crowding really makes me feel overwhelmed just being there. I don't recommend this place if you want to seat and enjoy the meal. read more
Nice food hall to visit with a variety or cuisines and chill vibes. Compared to American food halls this one felt less rowdy and there's plenty of seating along the center hallway. I did like some of the food more than others. The bao buns (shrimp chili from Mer du Nord) were my favorite and most flavorful. The sushi (Mr Temaki) was also good - my hand rolled was prepared fresh and was delicious! We also tried the bitterballen flight (De Ballenbar) because it was a Dutch thing to try - did not enjoy how mushy it was on the inside but that could be a bitterballen thing I wasn't used to. My least favorite was the lamb platter (Maza) - the meat was just a little dry for my taste. Overall a really cute place to hang out or meet up with people in the Leidseplein area! read more
One of my favorite parts of my trip to Amsterdam was De Foodhallen (obviously a foodie) and it was pretty closeby to our hotel, we saved this for our 3rd dinner of the trip. This place is a wide variety of flavors, cuisines, independent restaurants, cultures, drinks and vibes all together was just really fun. We tried a little bit of everything, but the real reason we came down was Bulls and Dogs, because those hot dogs are really something to be believed, they were so good. We had some tacos, some drinks, a little nibble here and there, and really enjoyed ourselves. The whole things is a food hall obviously, so make sure to grab your seats, get plenty of napkins, have a friend hold down the table, and drink responsibly. read more

This place was awesome! Hard to review a food hall because there are so many unique vendors, but both of the food options we got were very tasty, and the place had an awesome, bustling ambiance.We ended up getting a meatball sub from Meatball Rollers, and a delicious ribeye steak bowl from Vietview (with fresh veggies and a tasty peanut sauce). There was a separate stand that had alcoholic drinks as well, so we split a sour beer. We were there between 9-10PM and some of the food vendors had started closing up/running out of items so best to get there a little earlier for dinner. I lived all of the lights and decor of this place - would recommend to friends if they visit Amsterdam! read more

Yelp Review 2023 #83: A nice foodhall in Amsterdam with a variety of cuisines and food options. From Chinese dumplings, Mexican tacos, Spanish tortilla, Vietnamese Banh mi, falafel, kebab, sushi, poke, bbq, etc. I had 2 specific stalls I wanted to try. One I couldn't find at all - I walked the entire foodhall and even walked outside just in case but I had no luck finding it. The other was De Ballenbar that serves Dutch fried balls. Plenty of tables and seats. Be prepared to share a table with random people or wait forever. I came here as soon as they opened and some stalls weren't open yet. By the time I walked around and got food (30 minutes from opening), the place was packed! Good thing was I went here solo so, I was able to secure a 2-person table. I got my food but I needed a drink. I left my food on the table and my jacket on my seat so I could get a drink - I was a bit leery about my stuff behind but I was more worried about choking on my food and not having a drink. Most food stalls carry only that: food. If you want a drink, you have to go to the bar or a natural juice stall. I saw people with bottled water and I couldn't find bottled water from the bar and the juice place. I gave up and just got a bottle of unknown local soda. I came back to my table and my stuff was still there. Whew! I was people watching as I was enjoying my lunch. Clean up after yourself when you're done. They do take credit cards and actually prefer that you do. If you're not driving here, it's easily accessible via tram. read more
Great spot! We were so excited to check out this food hall, and it didn't disappoint. We ended up grabbing a pizza with super thin crust and spicy salami, and it was delicious. I would come back to check out the Dim Sum and a few other stalls, as well. FYI this place was packed at 8pm on a Sunday, so I'm sure it's the same on other days. Plan to wait a bit or squeeze in at a small table. read more
Great place to go if you don't know what to eat! Got some gyoza and fried chicken from different places and liked both! Also the beer bar is great too! It's very big so we found a seat right away during dinner time! It's very airy and some inside and outside seating! Everything came out fast and delicious! Everyone was very nice! read more
This place is very lively and good atmosphere. There are several bars inside the building, some serving only beer and others wine and cocktails. The service was great at the bar, but very mediocre at the food booths. I would like to account that to the many orders they get and needing to fulfill them quickly. I tried several different booths to eat and some were better than others, but none of them were amazing. The food was also very expensive for the portion you receive. Fun area but I am not sure about returning. read more

About a 25-minute walk from the center, the foodhallen market is a local delight. Located in an old train station in a residential neighborhood, it's completely void of tourists and offers a large selections of high quality foods, beverages, craft cocktails and live music. It also has a great market for handmade stuff and art but all vendors are gone by 6pm. So if you are tired of Amsterdam center and wish to venture out, make it here for lunch. Prices are better than in the center too read more
