HERO TO ZERO..... I was a hero when I spent $25,000+ on tile and carpet but zero when I wanted to have a carpeted hallway re-stretched. I figured that rather than find a carpet installer Id just go back to the company that I purchased it from. The first time I called, I left a message and didn't get an answer and I thought it was an oversight, so two weeks later I went into the store and worked with a salesman to have installer come out and restretch the hallway, again no contact. So now I call and ask for the operations manager and of course he doesn't answer and I left him a message. That was 2 weeks ago and still nothing. I think I see a pattern here! They are great at taking your money but horrible after your money clears their bank. read more

Terrible experience after having 4 rooms done in our house. After being hit by the tornado in 20 24 two separate installations, the first 2 rooms had 2 boxes of tile left over when we were getting the other two rooms done. I told joe, the new general manager to deduct 2 boxes from their measurements. Because we had 2 left over. After the second installation of the other two rooms, we had 2 and a 1 boxes left over, bringing it to 4 and a 1 boxes.. I asked him if I could return some of the boxes and they would not do it. I believe that that is a scam to make more money. And while I was trying to order underlayment for the tile, Joe was out of town on vacation for two weeks, and nobody else could put the order in for me. And it put me back two weeks.. I am very disappointed in the new general manager. Joe and we'll never go back to that store again. read more

Ordered flooring and we were told that if we needed to return any portion, we could. We returned one carton and some transition strips directly to the ITW warehouse as instructed. They are refusing to return our money because according to them, they have no record of the return. This after being told they had it "under control". Not a lot of money, but I wouldn't do business there with this type of person again. read more

Don't waste your time, they really don't want to do business. Two simple transactions for rugs over the last 3 years that went OK. Did kitchen remodel and looked to them for countertop pricing and double what we eventually paid. But what will be out last interactions with the store happened a few weeks ago. Picked out tile to redo a bar countertop with Chris. He was supposed to send out an installer to measure. After 3 phone calls we finally heard from someone who did come and measured our project. A week went by with no quote. Called and left a message. No call. Called and talked to someone else who said Chris had been fired and he'd find the info and call us back. Nope. A week later called and talked to James, allegedly a manager, who said he would look into it and call us within an hour. Never heard back. Will never deal with them again, even though we could not find the tile we wanted anywhere else. read more

Extremely disappointed stop by today drove an hour over to this location to see if I can get with the Cabinet guy to discuss possibly doing the cabinets for our brand new house. They said there was nothing they could do for me and could not help me until the walls went up. I explain them. I would like to have a bid to give my contractor and the bank so we knew how much everything would cost and the guy said- Sorry can't help you, I just thought to myself. I will never use Ramey again. Despite hearing of horror stories from friends regarding Ramey, I dumbly ordered tile for my renovated master bath from them. After being told that the tile I ordered had a 2 week delivery and having to pay Ramey's tile measurement person as well as my own installer to measure, I was informed 4 weeks after I placed the order that delivery instead would be 2 months later than originally quoted. My renovation has already begin and I need the tile next week! To make matters worse, the salesperson was rude and very condescending when I called regarding the problem. I feel embarrassed I did not try harder to find the right person. After the repairs were made they made several calls to us to insure our complete satisfaction. I have purchased kitchen cabinets, a bath vanity, a houseful of LVP flooring, and some rugs from Ramey. I plan on going back for tile as well. Their buyers seem to find really stylish, high quality products and that sets them apart from the big box stores. They also offer personalized service at a higher level. Rob helped me design my kitchen and he was excellent. Calls and emails are returned. Renderings were helpful in laying out and installing the cabinets and Rob is always available to answer any questions. So glad I used Ramey. read more

When we went looking for new flooring for 4 rooms in our condo we wanted to try someone local. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes it's not. In the case of Ramey Carpet in Stuart, it's definitely NOT. If you've read the reviews make sure you look past the fake 5 star reviews for the negative ones because they tell the true story. This is a business that is not dealing honestly because they're a dying dinosaur and from what I can tell do not care much about customer satisfaction. If you're buying tile do yourself a favor. According to some of the other reviews don't let them do the installation, but also don't use a company that doesn't allow returns. Many will take back full cases within an allotted time with a 20-30% restocking fee. With Ramey, you give them the sq. footage then they give you more than you need because they DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS. So if like me, you end up with 8 cases of tile, 1 case of subfloor membrane and 5 bags of grout left on your living room floor, what do you do with it? They ordered 10% more than we needed but we have to eat the overages and deal with it! According to the manager, they don't keep anything in stock so can't take any returns. No matter that they sell this stuff every day they don't take back anything at any rate. And they don't make a policy of making that well known for obvious reasons. Beware of Ramey Carpet & Tile. First, they send an email to customers with two choices of review...good for five starts and three stars or below, so the minimum review you provide, if you respond within their e-mail, is three stars. Hardly an impartial and honest review. Secondly, they oversell you on product because they are commissioned sales staff, and with their strict no-return policy you are left holding the goods that you paid for and don't need. The tile installer did measure and was spot on. Customer service is not on their radar. They talk out of both sides of their mouth. We did have three good subcontractors. The tile, flooring, and countertop installations were done well. As much as we like to support local business, we recommend you stay away from Ramey. Overpriced and under serviced. read more

Curtis, I have an issue with an install of carpet over existing tile. At the time of sale we had a conversation and assured that the installers would drive nails in grout only and not damage tilers on carpet install. Order# CG9 0743 dated 12/14/09, yes almost 12 years ago however, 12 minutes, 12 days, 12 weeks or 12 years the damage was done by your installers and were also told by me to drive nails in grout lines only and use liquid nails on carpet track if needed to protect tiles. See attached photos of tiles damaged however, about 21 tiles in all were damaged during carpet install. Not all tiles attached since the file would be too large. My request is that you arrange for your tile department to come out to replace really damaged tiles ( I have 5 1/2 tiles that can be used provided by the previous owner). Tiles with small chips created during install of carpet, the tile expert can use tile repair kit and patch damage ceramic tile.. Discovery after pulling up carpet for a life changing situation from a spouse having a stroke and carpet is a trip factor. Please advise on what Ramey Carpet can or will do to correct this workmanship error. read more

I bought over 2,000 sq/ft of porcelain wood look tile at Ramey Carpet. The salesperson calculated I'd need 7 bags of grout at $55 + tax per bag. The tile was professionally installed and when completed we had 5 bags of grout left over, which seemed like a huge miscalculation but since the bags of grout were intact I believed that I should be able to return them for a refund...Wrong!... Ramey Carpet has a no return policy on grout. So I'm out almost $300. Was I oversold by the salesman at Ramey? This company has absolutely the worst workmanship I've ever seen in my entire life. The only thing that is worse than their sportsmanship is there customer service. They continue to play flooring with the board's cut the wrong length try to fill it with caulking and continue to cover up their mistakes with ill-fitting moldings. And all they said was that's all they could do worst customer service I've ever seen. Then they use my credit card without authorization I am seeking legal action now. I was happy to see a Mask mandate on the door as my husband is very comprised. This is a very poorly run business that is unorganized and has no follow through. Our 5 day $20,000 install wound up taking over 30 days, all the while our home was left in total disarray with damages to furniture, trim, and doors, and filth everywhere. Sales people operate on commission, so all they care about is the $$. Installers are NOT company employees, but independent contractors, so workmanship is sloppy and unprofessional. Seems to be a typical case of overexpansion at the cost of quality and service, coupled with poor management. In such a competitive business as this, this is totally unacceptable, so shop elsewhere. read more
