I cannot believe what Ramona's did to me. I brought a gown to be hemmed for my daughter's wedding. They told me to pick it up Monday. The sign on the door says they are closed today and tomorrow. They wrote Monday on my ticket! I am beyond angry. DO NOT EVER USE RAMONA'S ALTERATIONS!!! There's a Wells Fargo ATM on the corner and in the world of alterations, gestures and minimal conversations get the job done. I was totally unhappy with this business. I used this place to alter dresses for a wedding. I was told to come back Thursday of the following week. It was one day before I was due to leave for the wedding. I decided to take a chance anyway. I arrived Thursday evening to pick up my dresses to find the business had closed early that day. I was furious to say the least. There was no sign posted, or a call made to come earlier to pick up my dresses. I was scheduled to fly out at 12p Friday. Of course my stress level was high, because I had to wait until 9 am to pick up my dresses before flying out. What really boiled my grits is the business opened early the next day!!! Again, no communication to the customer!!!! I could have saved myself the migraine and frustration of waiting around. I called the business numerous times the day before. My girlfriend had a dress that needed to be altered(just cut a bit shorter and made tighter) and she dropped it off Friday evening and they said the following TuesdAy it would be ready. However, Another dress that she ordered online arrived the next day(Saturday afternoon) and she tried to call the place to cancel the alterations because they wouldn't be needed on that dress anymore but on this one she just got because she likes it more. They close at 3pm on Saturdays and closed sundays so she went first thing monday morning to try to switch the alteration dresses And instead of being honest and just switching the dresses to be altered because it had not been started yet. They straight up LIED to our faces, said the dress had been cut already, that we owed $60 bucks and that my gf would need to pay another deposit plus fees for the new dress. When she asked for the original dress back so we can see it, they at first tried to tell her NO, they couldn't give it to her because the lady who "worked" on it was not there. We Told them that is not our problem, if the dress is done, we want to see it. Brought some dress out that wasn't even the one and then finally brought out the right one and It wasn't even cut! They threw the original dress back at us, kept the deposit money for it and then told us to leave essentially. I had a dress to get altered for an upcoming event I was going to. I took it in a week and a half before I needed it to ask how much she would charge to take it in and add an embellishment to the side of the dress. I asked her when Is the latest I can come to have it on time. She suggested I just do it right then and there even though I had to be somewhere at a certain time. She was like just do it really quick. So I did, abs she pinned it really quick - felt very rushed. Anyway, fast forward to when I was supposed to pick it up. She told me after 2 pm a week later. I came in at like 1:45 and another woman was there and said it wasn't ready yet and that she won't be in until 4, and to come back at 6 pm. Umm it's been here a whole week and nothing got done? I saw it behind her and it was on top of the table with a bunch of other clothes on it. More wrinkly than when I brought it in. So I came back at 6 pm, and the dress fit fine, but the embellishment is not where I wanted it. It was literally on the side of the dress directly underneath my armpit when I asked for it to be underneath the bust line on the side where you can actually see it. I tried to explain to her and she couldn't understand me due to a language barrier. With a very Snippy tone, she said fine I'll fix it with a lot of attitude. So I picked it up the next day and she put it in the right spot, but it was barely sewn on, the embellishment flaps. DO NOT GO TO THIS LADY!!!! This has to be the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. When you walk into the business, the owner is dismissive and does not even greet you. As soon as I showed her what I wanted altered, and she saw that it was a hole that I wanted her to patch up, she told me that she does "alterations" and that she doesn't fix "damaged things". She then told me that she was very busy and she exasperated with her breath. She was VERY unprofessional. Then when she finally agreed to fix the item, when I go pick it up, I realize that she fixed it incorrectly and actually made it way smaller than it should have been, and then the pants didn't close anymore. When I brought the pants back to her, she told me that the pants never fit me to begin with (meaning she was calling me fat), and that I was blaming her for a problem that she couldn't fix. I got very angry when she said this and I told her I would never send anyone to her anymore, because that was very unprofessional of her to tell to a paying customer. She proceeded to call me stupid and told me that she was going to fix the pants again even though it would damage them. She was so rude that I almost didn't want to leave them with her again, however, I had already paid $25.00 to have them fixed, and wasn't going to pay that again at another seamstress. She then gave me a ridiculous time frame to pick up the pants (3 weeks, for something that could be done in a few days, just to be spiteful), and when I picked it up about a month and a half later, when I walked into the business, the first thing she said was "aren't you the girl with the pants?". I could not believe that I had not even opened my mouth, and her greeting was so disrespectful. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS LADY. SHE IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SHE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE BOTHERING HER WHEN YOU WALK INTO HER BUSINESS. SHE WILL ALSO THROW IT IN YOUR FACE THAT SHES BEEN OPEN FOR 30 YEARS AND THAT HER CUSTOMERS LOVE HER FOR WHO SHE IS. I'm writing this as I arrive home from picking up the items I left at Ramona's for alterations. I would recommend Ramona's Alterations to ANYONE. I bought 3 dresses that were designer and cute, yet didn't fit my body properly. I searched online for the nearest seamstress and alteration company near me and found Ramona's. I thought I'd give it a shot based on the other good reviews. The store is tucked away in a plaza... nice and quaint. Everyone is always hard at work in the back. I was greeted promptly and with a smile by Maria and her sweet granddaughter. Maria had me try on each dress and describe what I wanted to change about each one. One dress was a little too long, one needed to be taken in, and one dress had a cowl neck that I hated the look of... so I asked if she could create an entirely new neckline for me. She pinned quickly and symmetrically, and told me they'd be ready in about a week. I left confident that she understood what I liked and disliked about each item, and now a week later, I could not be happier with the results! Maria was there when I arrived to pick up, and had me try on each dress as she personally made sure they fit the way I wanted. Once I put it on, Maria and I both agreed that the neckline still needed to be fixed somehow. We brainstormed for a minute, she pinned, and stitched the new look while I tried on the last dress. That quickly! Maria is AMAZING. Not only does she possess incredible, and natural talent, but she truly is a kind soul.
