I'm sure if you ride bmx this place is great for you since the ramps are sick and abundant. This review isn't for y'all. However, since I ride a skateboard, I'm going to give my perspective on ramp riders: it sucks. - Ramp Quality: the quality of the ramp construction for skateboard riding is sketchy at best and recklessly dangerous at its worst. Most of the surfaces in the parks are not smooth and are built with treated plywood. However, the surfaces that are smooth are riddled with holes and are cracking at the seems. Signing a waiver, means that private skate parks aren't legally responsible for you slamming from a hole in the ramp, but they are actually responsible. I've had my share of slams on quality ramps where I knew I in control of the risk of slamming by choosing how much I wanted to push my limits of skill. You don't have that level of control at Ramp Riders. - Maintenance: I skated ramp riders a few times in 2018 and the state of its ramps were the same as when I recently skated it in 2022. It looks like they have patched some holes though by cutting out the holes and patching them. There is an abundance of dust and lack of markings for where there are holes/cracks in the ramps. It looks like they have been redoing a single mini ramp, though. - The Vibe: The vibe in the skate park is absent, since the quality of person it attracts are twofold. Those unaware of its poor quality and those desperate enough to skate it due to its monopoly on indoor skate parks in St Louis. This manifests as parents bringing their swarm of small children to run around playing tag here instead of at the Magic House or City Museum. - Helmets: This place requires a helmet. I think helmets are great for protecting yourself, and I will wear a helmet when I know I need one. That being said, I would like to exercise that discretion wherever I go. I feel safer wearing one here, that being said - Staff: The staff were cool with other customers and helpful with questions I had. They seemed to even help with beginners trying to learn to skate. Despite all my negative criticisms of this place, I think it has the potential to be a rad place to skate, and I want it to be! Here are some things to change - Sweep and mop the ramps - Use these screws so that bodies don't get cut up https://www.amazon.com/Rock-Bugle-Laminating-Drywall-Screws/dp/B096SZB2BS - constantly get feedback from skaters (ask them how their sesh was for example) - let local rippers y'all trust in (for free) to skate for y'all and post them up on Instagram - If y'all resurface the ramps, make sure y'all know that you're doing it the right way. Not sure if y'all got two plies of surfacing material, but that's my recommendation to prevent holes. Birchwood is also a great surfacing material for indoor parks. read more

This place is the Mecca for anyone into action sports in the St. Louis area. They're always improving/adjusting new ramps for skaters, bikers and the occasional inline skater. There's a great community here. Some of the riders even give lessons to the young 'uns that hang around the skate park, too. This increases the overall skill level of the park. Compared to the now defunct St. Louis Mills X-Games Skate Park, this is more a place for average-skilled to expert/professional riders than just a drop off area for soccer-turned-skater moms. The last time I was here, some little twelve year old kid was rocking the mini spine ramp. WOW. But it did make me feel old. However, at the Mills park, it's really easy to run over little kids and that stinks for liability purposes and overall safety. I think this is the best skate park in town. It's professional, there's tons of stuff to do, they have a great pro shop, and sitting around posing on your board is no option, since the community there is all about you becoming a better rider. read more

Ramp RIders has a huge indoor park that is great for any skill level (mine is currently 0, but hoping to change that with a lesson and several years of skate sessions). There is a nice skate shop that has tons of products and accessories for skateboarding/BMX and maybe more, but I'm not sure. I bought a helmet at a cheaper price than I could find at Sports Authority. The customer service really impressed me. Chad, the owner, is very accommodating and willing to go above and beyond to make customers happy. My skateboard was built before my own eyes, which was pretty cool. I am looking forward to visiting more often and supporting this great local business. read more

I've been fortunate to visit a number of skateparks in the past couple of years, RAMP RIDERS suffers from what I've witnessed more than a few times... Lazy staff, owners. The park NEEDS REPAIRS! Falling is a part of skateboarding, falling because ramps are loose or falling apart; that's not good (see picture), I'm walking around Chicago today with some minor pain because of the laziness of the park/owners/staff. Plus the floors desperately need SWEEPING. Met a lot of lazy/too cool to pick up a broom types in skateparks. Stop staring at your phone or having dumb conversations with other boring skaters and clean the damn places. Ramp Riders was probably pretty sweet 10 or so years ago, the wood is damaged, concrete is damaged. The place (like a lot of St Louis) is dangerous. read more

The location is great being in the city and near the highway but their signage should be better to find it easier. Lots of ramps, pizza, chips , and drinks always seal the deal for my six year old year-round skating. read more

I don't skate anymore (other than a little bit in my basement) but this place makes me want to start skating again. The size of the place is impressive and it looks like they have a variety of ramps. The skate shop is mostly no-frills, with everything you need. Might start skating again just to try out some of these ramps. read more
