It was obvious and not an observation or perception error on our part. I even approached one staff member and asked if I could take a few pictures (not of customers) for a Google review and got a strange look and pause, before they said, I guess. I would recommend to the staff to kindly engage a customer, if you are suspicious; that usually helps clarify any concerns. Other than some uptight staff, we enjoyed this store.

We have been over this pass numerous times and finally got the change to ride the tramway during normal working hours (last ride is at 5pm and you have to ride back by 530pm). The gift store is huge with snacks, souvenirs, restrooms and lots of parking even for larger tractor trailers and camping trailers. Take a light jacket up since it can still get a little chilly and windy at the top. Staff was friendly and helpful, and overall, we had a fun time and a beautiful view from the top the continental divide.

Great quality, nice design. Score. If you're in Salida or Gunnison and looking for a few hours to kill, this is worth the short drive, especially if you don't get up high much or want to wow anyone from lower elevations.
