I was in the other day and the staff and owner got into a verbal and somewhat physical altercation with a guest who wanted to return a new snowboard that was damaged. I am tired of this place. I'am a local, says it on my ID. Been here for years. And have purchased big ticket items at this store. But no more. I am tired of the girls with attitude behind the counter with a tip jar asking for even more money. 10% local discount applies for locals. Its on my ID. Sometimes its only valid if you spend 100.00. Sometimes its valid on a 20.00 hat. You would think they would wise up. Offer 4.00 off a hat and inspire repeat business. But no. I guess the price depends on who you are or who is working. Try on gear here and shop at the house.com or another internet site. This place is over priced. I want to patronize local business but not for extremely high prices and service with an attitude. Underground has been my favorite snowboard shop in Breckenridge for many years now.. back from when they were actually underground. (They have since moved up to Main St) They have great sales going on right now, so I highly recommend scooping up some bargains from last years inventory. The owner is a super great dude and everyone who works there is incredibly down to earth and friendly, you don't get that snotty vibe you get at a bunch of other shops. I won't name names, but you know who you are. Merchandise selection is really great and the sales staff is knowledgeable. I rented a board here Jan. 2018 and apparently they've apparently only been renting for a few months. I got a set of brand new boots, helmet, and board. They paired me with a board that matched my height and weight, set the bindings up for me, and had me out the door. Staff was pretty chill, but friendly and helpful. I only ended up snowboarding for two days when I had initially planned and rented the board for three days, but they refunded my last day without me asking and without hassle. We poked around looking for new boots for me. It definitely has a cool selection- well curated, unique, and up to date. We ended up not buying here this time around for 2 reasons: - we got a better deal at a different shop in town, on boots that I liked a bit more- this isn't really their fault, just a different selection - after the girl who greeted us when we came in, we couldn't get anyone's attention. Looked at the boots on the second floor and the store seemed totally silent. Amazing service! Went into the shop today after a call to check and see if they carried a specific style and size of shoe. Leanne answered, she was super friendly and took the time to physically check to make sure they had it in stock. I drove over to Breck later and went in to purchase them. The staff on hand was very friendly and each person greeted me and asked if I needed any help. Great service!!! Leanne was at the counter and helped me grab the shoes and checked me out. All right. I always try to patronize this place and usually go out of my way to come here, and everyone is just a dick who works here. Their selection is very good - I've acquired some nice Jones things, a Dragon lens, some Volcom hats etc., and they've a great hand-picked selection of boards from the best factories - Capita, Yes, Arbor, Rome, NS, Jones. But why, why can't they be friendly at ALL? Do they WANT to drive customers away? I've been in there a dozen times and tried to make small talk when I'm checking out, or tried to ask questions about products, and I've been basically given the stink eye. To top it off, I've been snowboarding for about 20 years and teach the damn thing, and they treat me like I'm some silly little girl looking for a toy to play with. Spent over $600 on a new snowboard and NOW bindings at this store. The staff at this store installed the bindings. After 2 days of use the toe strap came off on the mountain while boarding. A helpful shop(not like Underground) at the base gave me a FREE toe strap so I could continue boarding for the day. I returned to the store because I wanted a strap that matched the other strap, since it was a new board, so I asked for a replacement under the warranty and they said it was my fault that I did not tighten the screws after every use and they would not replace it. I complained about this.....and the staff person was rude(with attitude) to me and continued to say it was my fault and there was nothing he could, it was an owner responsibility.......he finally did offer to check his stock and see what he had.....but I was ticked off, left and will never shop here again. I previously had a cheap snowboard that I bought at Sports Authority and I NEVER tightened screws for the 5 years I had it and I never had a strap come off. It's ridiculous to not help out your customer after using the board for TWO DAYS!!! I contacted the manufacturer, NOW bindings and they shipped me TWO new toe straps for FREE, with an apology and no questions asked...didn't even ask for my receipt(which I did have) very poor customer service at this place....very disappointed. read more

We have gone in this store many times over the years and decided to buy some winter gear this time. The sign on the store said "40 to 50 percent off all winter gear". Once we bought our items and realized that we did not get 40% off but 30% I asked them about it and I was told the sign is wrong, "it is priced as marked". I don't mind paying price as marked, but don't advertise that it is 40% off when it is not. Basically the gentleman working didn't care what I thought and made no attempt to fix what was wrong. I was out the money since all sales at final. I will never shop here again and I will discourage anyone and everyone that I know or mentions the store from going there. There are many other stores with the same items and back up what they advertise. If you do go be sure to check the price before paying. read more
