We stopped on our way to check this spot out since we didn't know when we'd be in the area again. You won't find food at Cactus Taproom so if you're looking for a glass of whine, beer or a little of both this may be your spot. What caught my eye was they offer flights. I love flights because you get to try a little of quite a few to see what you like or don't. When we pulled into the lot I was surprised at how small it is. There is a bar of course, a handful of high top tables and a small patio. The place was packed. We somehow managed to snag the last available table. It was full of definite locals as many seemed familiar with each other. There was one man running the bar and though very busy he was friendly, patient and no one seemed to be having to wait long for drinks. The place was clean. I thought it was cool that they offered many fridges of different beers etc to purchase and take home or of course drink while there. If you read my reviews I love sour beers and this is part of why we came here. I tried both they had on tap and unfortunately wasn't a fan of either. We will have to come back and maybe try a few in the fridge section. I didn't want to try anything else and risk mixing wine etc. good local spot of just wanted to have a few drinks alone or with friends.

Don't let the exterior fool you into thinking it is a fancy/expensive restaurant. Inside, the service and the vibe is like a neighborhood hangout. They have a great patio with cornhole and other activities for groups/families. The patio is also dog friendly. The FOOD!! We came by for brunch one weekend and had the best chicken fried steak I think I've ever had. They call it cajun style but it was not spicy...maybe a little smokey flavor to the gravy. We also had the build your own mimosa. It was fantastic. One evening we had a burger. It was so big that we were able to split it. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries were amazing too. The first time we came by The Social it was for a late night drink on my birthday. I got one of the dessert martinis and it was so good! We've also had wine, and a delicious seasonal sangria. The service has always been prompt and friendly. It feels like the staff all like each other, and like their guests. The bar area is fun and welcoming. If you have not tried this place, you should!!

While not a large dining experience, there are several different eating space options including a dog friendly patio. One of the quirks of S83 is the amount of live, and advertised, music. This can be loud after reverberating off the patio but the play list while we were there had everyone signing along and playing cornhole. Our server was also great with a lot of our requests and questions about the menu. We landed on Wagyu Social Burgers and White Cod Fish Tacos for the win. Tip: pay the $4 for an extra taco they are worth it. Also on the menu is a diverse drink menu with craft cocktails and a Brunch option with lots of breakfast staples. At the End of the Day the Happy Hour, live music / DJ, and menu offer up a great experience that makes repeat visits worth the drive to the Arrowhead area.

The ONLY thing we would give a 3 star was the prosciutto wrapped pears. The pears were closer to an apple with a crunch and had almost no pear flavor. Everything else was an absolute 5 star, the charred carrots and steak skewers being our favorites. But the bread was amazing too! Definitely, a must go!

We called just to be sure and were told the only place they had for our party of six was on their couches. We took it and when we got to the restaurant, I was worried about my elderly parents eating over a coffee table and expressed my concerns with the owner who was hosting at the time. She so kindly managed to move some reservations around, (they were full), in order to seat us at a table. That meant the world to me, and for my parents!! The old fashioned cocktails were incredible and the food--oh my goodness!!! Our party of six shared about 5-6 options and each one was absolutely fabulous!!! We all were plenty full and greatly enjoyed our evening there! They also had a one man live music performer, I didn't catch his name but he was a perfect choice for the venue and ambience! We will definitely be back often, and are so thrilled to have a place to go for a dressy and romantic, yet laid back, evening!! Can't wait to try more food options--it all sounded amazing!! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!

It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.
