    Hot sauce game

We bought some delicious salsa here! Jalokia ghost pepper salsa and habanero salsa! They lady who was our cashier was super helpful and sweet. We got to taste what we wanted before purchasing. The prices are very fair and you get some quality hot sauce from here. They've also got thrifty ice cream to cool your palate after all that spice! They've got some donkeys and horses that you could feed and that was a real hot with the kids!

Carrots and apples are welcome. Hot pepper goodies are for the humans.

If you crave spicy pepper heat, be it salsa, hot sauce, peanuts, jelly beans, popcorn, bloody mary mix or pretty much anything else, you need to head to Goodyear to the Ass Kickin gift shop. There's lots to taste (yes, there are a few milder choices for wimps like my wife) and they do offer ice cream to help extinguish the flames in your mouth. They have really clever packaging that would make for great gifts. I really liked their collection of antique farm equipment too, as well as the burros in the corral nearby. A fun place to visit, just off the freeway.

Today I realized Goodyear has been bleeping a secret. A BIG one. Until yesterday I thought the only hot sauce store worth visiting was all the way in San Diego. Somehow I came across Southwest Specialty Food; or Ass Kicking foods which how most of their items are labeled. Not only do they have the coolest entrance to their store, they have horses and donkeys you can feed our front, cool photo ops out front with old and new tractors and farm equipment out front, as well as some other funny things. Once you walk in if you're a hot sauce lover you'll be in love. My hubby is a huge fan of anything hot. And loves some of the sauces we get in San Diego for his hot wings and some other items he likes to eat. Chips and salsa are a huge staple in our house. The great thing is they sell an assortment of salsa as well, and can even taste test them before purchase. They also sell gift items, T-shirt's, and much more. Another huge win is that they sell Thrifty Ice Cream as well. After tasting the Original Salsa which includes habanero peppers I purchased two jars for Father's Day, a bottle of the same style hot sauce, and scorpion sauce. Great prices. The girl at the counter was very helpful, friendly and didn't seem upset we came in 10 minutes before they closed. Check them out. What a fun store.

The staff were very nice and they had a nice variety of different things. There were some farm animals out front which was fun to see but I was a little disappointed that the actual farm where the food was grown wasn't there. Apparently it's at another location so don't expect to see that if you come here.

***UPDATE: It gets…read moreeven worse. After being stonewalled for days regarding my paid CSA pickup, I called again today. A woman at the farm attempted to aggressively gaslight me, screamed over me while I was trying to speak, refused to issue a refund for services not rendered, and arbitrarily canceled my active subscription without my consent. To top it off, right before hanging up on me, I heard her laughing to her coworker in the background saying, "I'm not talking to her!" That tells you everything you need to know about the maturity level and character of the trashy people running this place. I am officially reporting this business to the BBB and filing a chargeback with my bank. If you are considering subscribing to this CSA, save yourself the money, the headache, and the wasted gas. *********************************************************** If you are considering subscribing to this CSA, save yourself the money, the headache, and the wasted gas. Blue Sky Organic Farms loves to lean into the warm, fuzzy narrative of "local farm" and "community-supported agriculture," but their actual operation is a complete joke. What good is supporting local if the Folx running it don't actually know how to be in community? Over the course of trying to get basic information regarding my weekly pickup, I reached out through every single channel provided: the designated CSA line, the farm store number, Instagram, and even their restaurant/wholesale line (which, embarrassingly, is a dead line). Not a single person answered. To make matters worse, when messages did go through, I was repeatedly left on read. A few weeks ago, I had to waste an hour of my day driving 40 minutes out of my way to the physical store just to get basic questions answered because their customer service department is utterly non-existent (a fact that even their own front-desk worker acknowledged with total confusion and annoyance). Taking people's money and then stonewalling them when they ask simple, necessary questions about the service they paid for is negligent, amateurish, and fundamentally disrespectful. They should be thoroughly ashamed of how makeshift, disorganized, and dismissive this entire operation is. Do not fall for the "support local" marketing--these people do not care about community, and they certainly don't care about their customers. Go to WINCO!

I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

I would say inside is similar to a Filiberto's, but I don't really care as long as the food is good. I'm a big taco fan and the tacos here are just ok. (Pastor way too salty, asada seemed blah, but suadero was good) I did make a lil drive to come out here but probably wouldn't do it again unless I'm just in the area. If o had to compare, I would say taco boys, ta carbon and tacos calafia are well above this spot. Good visit though and really just stopped to try.
