Wow, this place is huge! I originally stopped by the library to work with the CareerForce team on my resume (a lovely service they offer on Tuesdays and Thursdays) but I walked around afterward to take a peek at everything else they have to offer. Whether you're stopping in to check out a book, grab a CD or a movie, hop on a computer, book a private study room, or explore the kids' area, this place really does have it all. They have a big parking lot and I saw some bike racks as well. I love my downtown Saint Paul library but this one might just be my new favorite. read more

What a beautifully, high ceiling library in the heart of Ramsey County. I was mainly checking out the highly beloved children's area and it did not disappoint. There's plenty to entertain and for children to learn and enjoy. We did a scavenger hunt and earned a hand stamp. They have an outdoor space for warmer weather that you can enter from the children's area. They even have a very cool peg light up board kind of like light brite. I also couldn't believe their selection of books! Wow! For adults they even have certain popular books you can rent for a certain amount each day which entices you to bring back as soon as you're done. read more

I stopped in last Wednesday to scan some documents. After scanning I sat down @ a computer, popped in the jump drive to confirm they were sent to it? I got an error message, ugh. I headed up to the service desk where a fellow sent me to the teens room for librarian assistance. In there thankfully Carly wasn't assisting anyone else. She popped in the jump drive, also getting the error. She took it out and put it in another computer... I guess... Third Time's a Charm! She located the files and sent me on my way! We've been going to this library for a very long time. I like that they have a great selection of books in English. The Spanish section could be organized better as they just have a collection of random Spanish books just put together so it makes it hard to look for a specific book. I like that the kid books are all in one zone away from adult section books on the top floor. They have a great area for kids to play and outdoor activities as well. On Wednesdays you can bring your toddlers to play with water toys and sensory activities. They have a good outdoor area with benches. read more

Extremely clean, natural lighting, huge parking lot, helpful librarians, two levels with computers and printers, self-service for checking out and returning books (if you choose), loads of varying subject media from CD's, books, magazines, video games, board games to subject matters such as mental health, travel, cookbooks, fiction, non-fiction and more. I have been frequenting this library after an influx of printing required for home ownership and my latest passport renewal. I also started dabbling with what libraries were originally meant for: checking out books and it has become my happy place. It's really neat to see the expansion that libraries have transformed into as for example, Ramsey Roseville has lots of conference rooms for studying, nooks, special events, conferences and artwork by local students on display. Amazing library! They have a "reused" bookstore set up by the desk with some incredible titles, all in good shape, for about $1-$2. They have changing art installations in the lobby that are one of a kind! You can even grab a cart or basket for browsing- you'll need one! And perfect nooks to study/read in. Beautiful library and community space! Growing up, this was my local library. I feel so fortunate about that! Besides lots of books, you'll also find CDs, DVDs, and helpful librarians. The teen space is bright, colorful, and has computers as well as books. The children's space is also colorful and fun. I like that each have a separate nook of the library. Upstairs has many many working spaces! There are some study rooms, but usually are full. They've added more chairs and tables throughout the years. I love sitting next to the windows!! Upstairs also has computers and a fireplace and books, of course. Sometimes there are little exhibits on the main floor. Most recently I saw local school children's artwork! There's also a small play space outside. Plenty of parking! The spots closest to the doors are reserved for with accessibility permits, carpool vehicles, electric vehicles, and fuel efficient vehicles. The two lots of either end of the library are less restricted. There's also a rain garden (for the environment and sustainability, not for playing in). This is our family's go-to library. We go out of our way to come here because of its incredible children's library. This is a go-to on bad weather days -- such a sanity saver. On good weather days, there's also a fantastic outdoor play space. The librarians are incredibly kind and helpful. read more

I think they've finally streamlined their process. You walk in, sign in the computer to get in "line". They had plenty of seating and moved us fairly quickly. I witnessed a kid who didn't have all of his paperwork and the clerk was very patient and helpful in helping him prepare to come back. read more

This is a beautiful and spacious library that's quiet and calming with just the right amount of ambient noise for focus. I know that sounds like a contradiction, but the quiet beeping of the checkout, the kind whispers of the librarians, and page/book ruffling make for peak ASMR, lol. This has quickly become my fave reading and knitting spot! read more

Boy have times changed! The last time I went to a library for myself, they still had card catalogs! Those who are over the legal age to drink probably remember those days. We used to live in Roseville. My wife who has a serious addiction to books (in a good way) has library cards to multiple library's. I used to go to the library to pick up her books. When you pick up books at the library, they are usually organized on a shelf under your card number. Well not for my wife. She has her shelf, yes her own shelf! For anyone that got stuck behind me at the book return outside, I apologize for taking so long to return the books. To the library, sorry for not always putting in one book at a time. With 2-3 bags of books to pick up or return at a time, there is only so much time in a day. :) Anyhow we were back in the Roseville area this day and not stopping at the library would be a sin according to my wife, so as the saying goes a happy wife is a happy life, we went to the library. The library was remodeled years again and now looks like a small business center. There are multiple levels, rooms and a coffee shop too. It's very bright inside, spacious and has lots of windows. I find it interesting that several businesses have closed over the years, (Blockbuster, clothing stores, etc), yet the library here seems to be thriving. Kudos the the board for making the changes and updates to keep people interested especially now a days with the internet. There was plenty of comfortable seating for me to sit and read the paper while my wife filled her bags with books. It's true that you can't teach and old dog new tricks. She has tried the Kindle and ipad, but she really loves actually holding her book to read. I think the last book I read was Where the Red Fern Grows. My wife has probably read over 1,000 book since then. Maybe more? Anytime we are in the Roseville area, we'll be back here. read more

I love this public library. They just remodeled it too! Brand new! I used to come here all the time for checking out books and dvds. This library has a little section for kids, teens, and family. If you are looking to hold a meeting, they have a room for you to use. I like upstairs how they have individual study rooms area. It's a ggreat place to check out with family. This is one of my favorite libraries in the cities. I love to come here to study and browse the book selection. They have study rooms here that you can use. They are nice when you are here in a group! They have lots of other seating areas around though. They have tables and chairs and some extra seating by the computer areas upstairs. Which bring me to the computers; they have a lot of computer here to use! They have a large areas for computer uses on both levels on the library. They have a great selection of books here! They also carry DVDs, audiobooks, and more! Anything you need they will probably have here. The library is always very clean and bright when I come. It is a great environment to be in! They also have a Dunn Bros coffee attached to the library, super nice and convenient!! If you need a quick caffeine boost or food in your stomach, you don't even have to leave the building! They also have some seating in the coffee shop too. read more

Public library in Roseville This library has oodles of books, cds and dvds in their Friends of the Library for sale in the corner of the library. I scored a brand new book and a classic for $2.00 (one was a mystery that is on special right now). Coffee shop is attached to the library, but I find it overpriced for lots of stops there (although I still find myself in line there way too often). read more

When I visit a library, my primary concern is finding a cozy, quiet study zone to get my mind relaxed and far from my present surroundings. For the most part, I have no trouble doing this at the Ramsey County Library (Roseville/St. Paul). There is plenty of sunlight pouring in, and you can find individual work stations in sun or shade. The staff is quite friendly, and yes, the Dunn Bros. is connected, so when your head starts to nod every 30 seconds, you can get jacked up w/ an Americano. For me, it's a nice change of pace from the coffee shop environment. read more

This is my twelfth review and it is my favorite county run library in the system. I am so glad that they are open now for curbside book pickup and return. The return box is to the side of the front entrance on the other side of Dunn Brothers. I looked online for the books I want. Placed a hold for pickup at this Roseville library. Then searched for where the books were available or had been returned, called that local library and asked them to transfer the books to Roseville. All these were done in less than a week. Super efficient and a painless process. Boom boom bang bang no muss no fuss and it was done! The people I talked to over the phone were also super friendly and helpful. Again, thank you for being open during this shutdown because now I can spend my weekends hanging out in the yard and reading some books to past time. This library is big and it has a large parking lot. Go check it out once all public libraries are allowed to be open. Don't forget to pick up some coffee from the Dunn Brothers in the same building. read more

Libraries are akin to basically heavens on Earth. Free computer access, books, DVD's (including new releases people!), books, an adjacent coffee source via Dunn Bros Coffee shop, lots of books, printing, scanning, copying, so many books, a community bulletin board, helpful people known as angel... I mean librarians, a f* ton of books! FOR free. Come, chill, study, make a new friend, find resources, it's a socialist revolution, the cute kind. read more

As libraries go, this is one of the best and my favorite of the entire Twin Cities. I love this place so much I volunteered here through The Big Move! Ample parking in a easy to access from highways location leads to tons of computers, piles of community activities (literature, events, and free classes), huge area for books and reference, the largest collection of DVDs and CDs in the metro, great kids area, Dun Bro's coffee shop, and learning garden outside. The building allows in a good amount of sunlight too, so it's actually nice to spend time in the building. Please note, this is, no joke, the busiest library in the state. The staff here is awesome and work really hard, so show 'em some love! Lend a hand if you can! read more

The door to the parking lot has an alarm, for a real fire, don't use it. You can book 2 months in advance, to the date, and it goes quick. This is where the library sales are, and it gets packed, with people and books. Attached to a Dunn Bros. Near plenty of good restaurants. Lots of parking and a lot of handicapped parking. read more

Such a nice and beautiful library and very well kept. It is bigger then most libraries I have been too lately. The grounds and the parking are spacious. Lots and lots of study and meeting rooms. Tons of tables scattered all throughout the library for you to do work at and more than enough outlets for you to use. Overall a good experience, and will use again in the future read more

Cool library. They let you bring in drinks (provided that they have a lid on). Easy parking, Wi-Fi available, and books galore. They also have study rooms, but you'll probably want to show up early to ensure that you can get a good spot. read more

I love going to this library. There's an extensive selection of books, DVDs, audiobooks- you name it. It is a pleasant environment, and everything is well-organized. However, I recently had an experience that negatively impacted my view of the library. I unfortunately lost three compact discs, and was subsequently charged for them. Because the amount I was charged was significantly above market value, I felt it was an unreasonable assessment and did not pay it immediately. Over a year later, I approached a library employee about the debt, and pointed out that the items are available for much less than I was being charged. She was unsympathetic, but she referred me to the circulation manager, who did agree to reduce the charge. However, I was still being charged $60, which included late fees for other items in addition to the compact discs I lost. Up until this point, the library had never contacted me about the debt. However, within a month of my complaints about the amount I was being charged, the library sent me a letter threatening to refer me to the State of Minnesota Revenue Recapture Program. The letter states that the library contacts patrons who owe $25 or more. Although I incurred the fines in November 2015, the library never made an attempt to collect them until June 2017. Because of the timing of these events, I felt that the library's collection effort was initiated in retaliation for my complaints. The library seems to be more focused on obtaining revenue than on receiving fair compensation for lost items. Patrons are charged more than lost items are worth, the library refuses to accept items that are overdue once a certain period of time has passed, and if a patron pays for a lost item and subsequently finds it, the library's policy is to not refund the payment. Rather than charging patrons who lose books the value of the specific book, the library uses a standard fee which is higher than the price of many books. Those in charge have apparently forgotten that the purpose of the library is to provide a community service, not to squeeze as much money out of patrons as possible. read more

It's closing March 31, 2009 for renovations, and the Dunn's Bros. is closing April 30th. It won't be open intil sometime in 2010.

I went here when I had to work remotely one day. The library is wonderful. Unfortunately, the library's wireless network and my work's VPN (Virtual Private Network) didn't get along, so I had to leave. I'm going to come back here next time, since it's such a nice space, and maybe my problem wasn't permanent. read more

The most popular Library in the state has reopened with twice the space and three times the computers. The teens are in another area that will muffle their noise. Everything is great except the heavily marketed Green Agenda inside and outside in the parking lot. I wonder if the decorators know that the green color they picked is the color for Mr Yuck. read more

I'm in this library about three times a week, reading, picking up materials, etc. The new building is OK, but whoever designed the parking must have missed a couple classes in design. There is plenty of parking ...after you follow all the one-way markers and pass the Handicapped, "Cars with Kids Only", "Green Vehicles Only" and Mini Car Only parking. Luckily I enjoy walking, but for some it can be irritating. Lots of computers, easy self check out and a helpful staff of knowledgeable people make this a great place to visit. Oh, and the Dunn Bros. coffee shop is right there also. read more

This place isn't as 'cozy' has I was hoping it to be, but it does offer a good variety of hangout sections for different ages and interests.
