I had my rhinoplasty done 2 years ago and love my results but the billing has been a nightmare!! I was quoted 15,500 for my procedure and was also told that they would try to bill through my insurance to "see if they would cover anything". Well I paid 15,500 Plus 1,00 for a deductible. That should not have been done because you can't collect a deductible until The insurance company processes the claims. A year after my surgery I received a bill for about 10,000! After several phone calls and emails I was told that amount was billed to my insurance in addition to what I had already paid! I asked for an itemized bill and noticed that an additional procedure, which was not performed on me, was also billed to the insurance company. After more emails and phone calls with several people, Lorna finally helped sort things out. I ended up giving them more money-money I had received from the insurance company. I thought things had finally been sorted out. Now 7 months later I get another bill for 5,000 and the statement says I am past due on my account and am in danger of being sent to collections! I am beyond upset and now have to start again with the emails and phone calls. This is ridiculous! read more

As others have mentioned, he is all about the money. Do not believe a word they say unless you have a copy of it in writing. Ask for copies of any paperwork & take the time to read it in detail before signing. Don't let them pressure you- if they tell you to sign right away in order to get some great deal, know they're lying. The staff members there are scam artists. The second the sale was made and I signed the paper work, they dropped the fake friendly act. Here's the short version of my story: I was given the date & location of my surgery. After everything was set and I made all necessary arrangements, I was told Dr. Kassir had a conflict and had to reschedule my surgery. The secretary offered a new date at a new location, but did not mention that this location would cost an extra couple thousand dollars. I had my surgery, paid for it in full, and then got a bill for over $2000 from the surgical center. After months of dealing with some of the rudest people I've ever met in my life, they called me and told me the bill was taken care of and I didn't have to pay anything else. I mistakenly did not ask for this in writing. Almost a year after my surgery, I received a letter from a collection agency asking me to pay the bill in full. When I tried to clear this up with Dr. Kassir's office, they told me they also believed this was settled, but when I asked for an email or something in writing saying that, they refused. They then proceeded to yell at me, not let me talk, and hang up on me. It's been well over a year since my surgery, the bill is still not settled, and I'm set to meet with a lawyer this afternoon. The stress this has caused has made the entire surgery not worth it. Here's the long version: At the consultation I was told the procedure would be $10k including all charges and would be in Manhattan. I was also told that the secretary mistakenly told me this price and it should have been closer to $18k, but she came back and said Dr. Kassir agreed to it because he didn't want to go back on what I was already told and he knew I was a waitress and couldn't afford over $10k. What a nice guy. The only catch was I had to sign and put the first payment down right away or I would lose the deal. I agreed and then some other doctor I knew nothing about came in with an iPad and quickly scrolled thru the document on the screen occasionally holding it out telling me where to sign. I never received a copy of that document. I scheduled a date and time, found a ride to and from the surgery, found someone to cover all my shifts at work, and planned my start date to my new job based around this date. After all this was set, I received a call from one of Dr. Kassir's staff saying that Dr. Kassir wasn't actually available on the date of my surgery and I had to reschedule. She offered one or two dates that completely conflicted with everything I had already planned. Then she said, actually if you have the surgery in Wayne I can schedule you for this date, which was still an inconvenience, but it was possible to rearrange my schedule and the schedule of those involved to make it work. We agreed on the date and time. There was no mention of a change in price for the different location. After the surgery I received a bill from Wayne Surgical Center. I did not understand why, so I reached out to both Dr. Kassir's office and WSC. I then understood that the difference between going to the Manhattan office and WSC was that Dr. Kassir owns the Manhattan office so he can control the price there, but not at WSC. I insisted that this was due to Dr. Kassir's scheduling conflict, I was not informed of the change in price, and I should not be responsible for it. After months of back and forth phone calls, being ignored, avoided, and treated incredibly rudely, I was told by both Dr. Kassir's office and WSC that they had come to an agreement and I was not responsible for the bill. Months later, after thinking this whole stress was all behind me, I received a letter from Pressler & Pressler that I had been sent to collections over this bill from WSC. I reached out to both the debt collectors and WSC and they both had no documentation that this was taken care of. When I called Dr. K's office they apologized, said they thought this was taken care of and they're on the phone with WSC handling it now. I asked for some sort of documentation of what she just said and she laughed and said she can't just produce a document for me. I asked for just an email restating what she just said and she screamed at me and said it's being handled now and she can't send me anything. I began to ask again but was interrupted when I realized she put me on hold. Someone then came back and without allowing me to speak said, "Hi, we're going to have to call you back. Have a nice day." They quickly hung up and still have not called me back. read more

Don't choose this Dr unless you are a 'reality' star...and maybe not even then!! I thought about even bothering to take the time to leave a review. I'm a busy person I have lots to do, you have a bad experience...you learn from it ...and you move on from it. BUT the more I thought about it the more I thought I HAD to write this review to HELP OTHERS make an informed decision. IF I had read some of these negative reviews here that Dr. Kassir has I probably would have saved myself time and money. Lets just start by saying Dr. Kassir MIGHT be a good surgeon. I don't know...things never got that far as he and his office staff have no people skills, customer service skills, or any integrity. There is a saying...how you do anything is how you do EVERYTHING, and I cannot believe that a person who has such little respect for people, or their time or feelings can ever be a good surgeon. Now maybe perhaps at one time ...before he got famous doing 'HOUSEWIVES' and it all went to his head...he might have been different and treated his patients or potential patients better but the fame has gone to his head and he best be careful of losing it all. Here's my experience: I was assured at time of making my first consultation appt that the 250. fee would be put towards surgery if I move forward with it. I was assured that I would NOT be rushed and ALL questions and concerns would be answered. I arrived promptly at 5:30 for my appt in the WAYNE, NJ location and had to fill in paperwork that had SO MANY PAGES about how the doctor would not be responsible for anything going wrong and it was all about the doctors rights and the doctors ass being covered. What about MY rights and my peace of mind?? There were BIG BLACK BOLD words staring out of me..."patient pays IN FULL THREE WEEKS BEFORE SURGERY" and NO REFUNDS!!!!! I mean talk about a RED FLAG going off in my gut. OK, I waited and waited and waited...no explanation as to why I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. I mean its now 50 minutes into my appt and no doctor. Finally, I'm moved into doctor's office and now left to sit THERE for another 30 minutes. I was fuming. No explanations, no apologies, no one even asked me if I wanted a glass of water...NOTHING!! After waiting 90 minutes...an hour and a half I got up and was walking out and on the phone with my credit card company to cancel the 250. fee they took. NOW, all of a sudden, the front desk girls are apologizing..."oh we are so sorry, come back the Dr will see you right away." My big mistake was letting them talk me into going back into Dr office and waiting another 5 minutes for him to come in. The Dr, who I was so looking forward to meeting was only concerned with how much money I had to spend for surgery. Mind you he walked in and never even apologized for my 90-minute wait for him. He just asked why I was there and then immediate asked how much money I had to invest in what I wanted? and then TOLD me I should have a nose job too. WTF??? I didn't want a nose job. I like my nose and have no issue with it. Long story short...the doctor did not answer all my questions or concerns. The doctor was in the office with me UNDER 10 minutes!!!!! I speak the truth here..I believe it was about 8 minutes. THAT WAS MY 250.00 consultation with Dr. Kassir. I was then informed that the procedure I asked about ..neck and face... was $23,000.00..and the girl never even mentioned the discounted 250. consultation fee that is supposed to come off the total fee. I left and was so mad at myself that I was 'TAKEN'. An hour round trip going and coming and 90 minutes there..all in all I wasted 2 1/2 hours and spent 250.00 for NOTHING!! The entire office staff and the doctor should be ashamed of themselves how unprofessionally and disrespectfully they treat people. The whole point of people wanting or needing plastic surgery in the first place is because people feel badly about themselves, are insecure, might have low self esteem, might feel invisible or that they dont matter. WAY TO GO Dr. Kassir...making people feel even worse after having visited your office. There are literally not enough positive things I could say about Dr. Kassir! I first heard of him through RealSelf three years ago. After meeting Dr. Kassir for the first time I KNEW I was in the BEST hands possible! He was so personable, kind and honest! He wasn't trying to "sell" me on surgery which I've heard some surgeons do. He was honest with me and said that my nose was nice but he recognized the issues I had with it and used imaging to design the exact nose I wanted. Long story short I decided to wait on the surgery to focus my time on school/paying my school loans and I refused to get my nose done unless Dr. Kassir was the one doing it! I met with Dr. Kassir again 3 years later and he was just as kind and encouraging as I remembered. He went so far as to even offer to let me shadow him at his practice (I'm a med student.) What an amazing doctor! Dr. Kassir walked me through each step on the process. There was never any ambiguity as to what I should be doing or what the next steps of the process would be. He has his own regime of vitamins to take prior to surgery to minimize bruising and swelling and his surgery technique is so gentle that I woke up from my surgery feeling amazing! I mean I was literally out shopping with a splint on my nose two days after getting my surgery! I think the most beneficial part about going to Dr. Kassir was during the 1 week recovery where I wore a splint (it's torturous because you can't see your nose yet) I was not nervous at all because I knew Dr. Kassir is the absolute best there is. If I had gone to another surgeon I would have been so worried that whole week thinking, "What if it's botched?" "What if I can't see a difference?" Dr. Kassir is so trustworthy and skilled that I had no doubts my wishes would be fulfilled. Update: I just got my splint off today and OH MY GOD my nose is amazing! It's literally better than I could have ever imagined! I have wanted a rhinoplasty since I was 15 years old and I'm so thrilled that I went to him. He fixed the bump on my nose, made it more narrow, and fixed the bulbous tip. I can't thank Dr. Kassir enough. He has literally changed my life. He's is literally the best there is in every aspect: skill, professionalism, bed-side manner, recovery time, and most importantly RESULTS. When I first met Dr. Kassir I was impressed with him. After my extremely expensive procedure, not so much. I scheduled a mini face lift, or as Dr. Kassir described it, a "revisionary lift", as well as a neck tightening procedure and laser resurfacing. A fat transfer was also performed. The laser resurfacing had no effect whatsover, particularly disappointing as it took weeks and weeks to heal and was painful. I was never told that the lasering would not work. When I visited Dr. Kassir for a follow-up checkup and voiced my disappointment, he became quite cool and told me that Botox was the only procedure that gets rid of lines! If he knew this then why did he agree to the lasering?? At that point he injected some Botox to improve the lines on my upper lip, charging me for the procedure. I feel that he should not have charged me, as the lasering had been not what I expected it to be. I now sadly feel that the lasering and Botox injections were done just to put more money in his pocket. It has now been 6 months since my mini face lift and I still have the jowls that I wanted to be rid of and appear not to have a face lift at all!! It seems that my face is falling! As expected, I am very unhappy. When I was in the office for my follow-up, photos were taken of me. I was told I could see the before and after on his website; well. they never appeared. When I later called asking to see the photos on my e-mail site, I was told they would take care of it, but I would have to sign a release, which would be e-mailed to me. I never received a release or the photos. Dr. Kassir's staff ignored my subsequent e-mails regarding this matter. My impression now is that to Dr. Kassir and his staff, unfortnately, all that matters is money. I would never recommend him to anyone at all. Mind you, I had a facelift over sixteen years ago with another plastic surgeon which resulted in me looking ten years younger in a very natural way with no disappointment at all. That facelift lasted over ten years and was wonderful. I now wish that I had returned to that original plastic surgeon. I will start by saying I had my Rhinoplasty done by Dr. Kassir less than two months ago, and I already love the results! It is still swollen, so I am very excited to see how it will change and continue to fit to my face over the next few months. He truly is an incredible surgeon. One word of advice - make sure to type out EXACTLY what you want and do not want changed, and bring pictures of people for reference. He sees many patients a day so it is important you are clear in what desired look you want. With that being said, I have to rate my overall experience as NOT top notch. He is such a well-respected surgeon, and I expected top notch staff as well. It is truly unfortunate that his entire team is incompetent. They were the reason I felt so utterly uneasy from start to finish - I was nervous enough to be having a procedure like this, and the added stress I am about to explain was uncanny. You choose a surgeon based on their incredible work, right? Well, Dr. Kassir's team makes me NOT want to recommend him - it is near embarrassing to refer a friend or relative if they end up going through a similar experience as mine. The staff including Nikolija, Caitlyn and Margaret made countless scheduling errors for dates and times of my visits, including the day of my actual surgery. The extreme disorganization resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress on my end. Araskya was another staff member. She cares about one thing and one thing only: to get you to book your surgery as soon as you arrive at your consultation before you even realize how much you're paying. I am a young individual, paying for this entirely on my own. My total for surgery was $16,500, and this included no breakdown on the price. All they did was take photos and had me sit down in the office - No examination nor specific questions asked on what I wanted done. I was shocked and felt completely rushed, especially after waiting over an hour to be seen. I then found out by a very good source that scheduling in New Jersey determines a lower price point, vs. New York City office. I called Araskya the following day and all she had to say to me was "There are no refunds." I was NOT asking for a refund, I was simply asking to switch the location of my procedure! With clearly no option, I had to stick to paying the higher amount and just trust that Dr. Kassir would do a beautiful job, no matter the cost. Paula was the ONLY helpful person I dealt with - she was the reason we were able to spot all of the inaccuracies of important information, including the scheduled appointment dates and times. She was able to effectively get someone to call me back for pre-op and/or post-op information, although it was never a same-day call back. I found it quite hard to believe that Dr. Kassir puts so much trust in Margaret taking on many roles in the office. She consistently was careless, rude, and unprofessional. She took off my splint and left 2 visible stitches on my nose! I had to go back to get those removed since they were on the outside! She had given me ZERO post-op instructions that day on top of it all. I thought I would at least get some verbal tips, if not a packet of some sort. This is a pretty serious surgery, your nose takes up your whole face... Why doesn't his team take it seriously? I understand that they must have an overwhelming number of patients, but it is their job to keep us feeling that we are in the best of hands and well informed. Honestly, the list goes on and on with disorganization and unprofessionalism... there was so much back and forth between myself and his team that all of it nearly ruined my experience. Dr. Kassir, for the excellent surgeon that you are, you need to hire professionals. I consulted with Dr. Kassir about fixing my very badly deviated septum that allowed airflow out of one nostril only for years. Went to countless other doctors and they informed me that this procedure would not guarantee results and my breathing problems could be made worse. Dr. Kassir was the most thorough, caring, and knowledgeable doctor that believed in his work immensely, yet at the same time will not just tell you what you want to hear. He is confident, talented, and the only doctor that could ever fix this problem for me. From start to finish, I was treated with dignity, respect, and would not put my life in any other doctor's hands after this experience. Within a week after my procedure, my breathing was already better than before surgery. Within two weeks, my breathing was so clear and open I was able to taste better, sleep better, and headaches were GONE! Not only did Dr. Kassir fix my deviated septum, but he had straightened out my nostrils and opened up each side so the appearance of my nose was symmetrical and even. I am forever grateful for Dr. Kassir and his team, the work that they do, and the honesty that is not found elsewhere. I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Kassir in the Manhattan office. Overall it was an excellent experience with regard to the surgery and the result. I had no problem interacting with the staff and received all information needed. On the day of surgery I was nervous but the nurse and anesthesiologist were kind, professesional, and very experienced with office based surgery which made me feel confident looking forward to the result. In my previous experience with a different surgeon and anesthesiologist, I experienced nausea and pain after the surgery with general anesthesia and had a difficult time leaving the office. Although I had a cosmetic improvement, my nose was worse functionally after surgery and I could not breathe as well. With Dr. Kassir I had an improvement cosmetically and functionally. The experience with general anesthesia was also excellent as I was awake and feeling relatively good after surgery - without nausea or pain (although there is a feeling of pressure and discomfort to be expected) - and able to leave the office easily and soon after surgery with no problems. After 1 day the packing was removed and the pressure- discomfort relieved. After 1 week the cast was removed and I could already see an improvement cosmetically and feel an imrovement functionally, breathing. The recovery process was also good considering I had this surgery before I knew how to manage my own expectations regarding the healing process as I know it takes months to a year to see the final result. I highly recommend Dr. Kassir for rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty. He is an excellent surgeon and addresses both cosmetic and functional aspects of rhinoplasty surgery. If you clearly communicate your goals for the surgery and manage your expectations regarding the time it takes for recovery I imagine you would have an excellent experience as I did. read more

Not everyone's experience may be perfect but some things that are said in these reviews are leaving a poor impression about certain practices when its common knowledge, for example, any plastic surgery/doctor will require you to pay upfront, in full! My family has had several procedures done with other doctors, and payment for 'elective surgery' is always required up front in full, in fact most professional businesses require payment up front for any services. My other daughter her her tonsils removed after many infections and the hospital said since that is considered 'elective surgery', I had to pay the balance in full (after insurance coverage) before her surgery!!! So it's not just elective surgery for plastic surgery. Also, to say this office takes advantage of younger girls photos on his site is misleading, as an older person myself, I personally would not want before/after photos of my procedure but young adults typically don't care as much and you have to give permission to use their photos. In fact, one of the reasons we chose Dr. Kassir is because after looking at his gallery of photos, it was obvious he is a perfectionist and it gave us more confidence to move forward with a consult. *********PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING WITH THIS DOCTOR********** Since I walked into Dr Kassir's office I have been living a nightmare. I felt it only right to warn others. I had a rhinoplasty last Nov as I had a broken nose and a deviated septum. I am now left a mess. And when I say a mess I mean a MESS!! I need to have my deviated septum corrected. I can no longer sleep on my left side or my right nostril collapses. I can barely breathe out of my right nostril now. Dr Kassir also took so much cartilidge out of my left nostril that it literally looks scooped out! It is also a different shape than my right nostril as is uneven. When I first went to Dr Kassir he also said I would also benefit from a procedure called a buccal fat pad removal to better contour my face. I had never heard of the procedure but after seeing his pictures on his website and trusting him I wanted to think about it. I was then whisked into an office and asked to pay the amount in full for the surgeries. I said I wasn't comfortable or sure about the fat removal and wanted to go home and think about. Long story short I signed feeling pressured as manager said I could not chg my mind once my other surgeries were booked. Like a dummy I did. The very next day I called and said I felt rushed and I do not wish to have the buccal pad surgery. They said sorry but you signed the paper. I said it hasn't even been 24 hours and to please refund me just for the surgery I'm not having. They said no but I could use the $6,000 for the buccal fat removal towards other procedures. When I told the story to Dr Kassir at 3 different times he brushed me off and said the office would take care of it. Well they did.... by telling me "Sorry you signed". Since last Nov I have went to him numerous times regarding my difficulty breathing and he told me I was congested. I have seen other doctors. They all said the same thing. I need to have my deviated septum corrected. I am not only botched functionally but cosmetically he messed up my nostrils and asymmetry horribly. I also need grafting to fix the retracted left nostril. When I show him my nostrils and what he did he says they are even and look great! He is the ONLY one that thinks so. It doesn't matter that I, my friends nor family or other doctors think my nose/nostrils look uneven. I am so depressed. The thought of going through surgery again petrifys me. Along with the amount of money plus the $6,000 for a surgery.... I now have to wait another 7 mths to rectify this. Read his reviews, there is a reason so many of them are awful! Ramtin Kassir is a phenomenal doctor, He is more approachable than most doctors. He has so much knowledge behind what he does and makes you feel comfortable. I've went to Dr. Kassir for my fillers and it was great, It looked so natural. My daughter also came to Dr. Kassir for her rhinoplasty and the results are superb! I didn't think she needed anything done, in the first place you know how us mothers are our kids look beautiful no matter what, but after hearing how she didn't like her nose, to the point where she wouldn't even take photos made me more on board then ever. Her nose is just one month post op and there is still more healing that will take place, I'm just so shocked as to how great it already looks. I have also seen a extreme improvement in her self esteem, she takes photos more than she use to, more comfortable than she was once before. If you are looking to waste your money and to be bs by Dr. kassir then go ahead cause this is what my experience was. First of all, plan on spending a lot of time waiting to be seen when you make an appointment. Secondly, he is all about the money. I originally went for lip filler. After seeing me, he said that I was a good candidate for a lip lift and that the filler will not do much, but he still had me spend 950.00 for one syringe of filler and it didn't even make a bit improvement when I really needed the lip lift! Why, why didn't I learn the first time.... I went back for dysport in middle of May thinking I don't need to worry about wrinkles for the summer well I had to go back two weeks to be tweeked thinking he really did do the tweeting and that I should be fine... We'll another couple weeks go by and I still didn't see any change... I go back again and wait an 1.5 hours for him to tell me I had to pay for the same area again cause what he did obviously wasn't enough. It comes down to he never did it right the first time and wanted to charge me again. He is wrong! I also met another patient of his in the waiting area and she had nothing good to say about him either. She was back to see him because she was so disappointed and spent thousands of dollars on work that turned out bad! I've wanted to get my nose done since I was about 11 years old. I went to a doctor once when I was around 20, and didn't go through with it because I didn't like the doctor. I'm now 35, and after four years of researching doctors up and down the East Coast, I decided on Dr. Kassir and I couldn't be happier with my choice. He did my rhinoplasty this year, and from day one, I felt comfortable and safe. I did not have one bit of anxiety or any sort of nervousness about my procedure. I was excited and it couldn't have come fast enough! A week after my surgery, when my bandages came off, and I looked in the mirror for the first time, I started to cry because I couldn't believe how beautiful my nose looked, even though it was still so so swollen. Such a scam is right! Dr kassir removed a potential cancerous mole for me in 2008....I was 18 at the time. My insurance covered everything and I was in and out in no time. Fast forward to 2016.....8 years later. I am getting phone calls from a collection agency that I owe $5,000 out of pocket for the removal of the mole. I call Wayne surgical center and they say it was never paid and it looks like "someone" cashed the check. I asked why I never received any paperwork or phone calls in the 8 years and not one person could answer my question. It's very shady. It's under investigation right now with my insurance company and we might need to get a lawyer if it's not resolved. My mom remembers more clearly then I do , but she agreed with the posts below....they were very friendly UNTIL you sign the papers. Was charged 65$ for not being able to show up for my first consultation appt. Was on my way to Boston for father's heart surgery where i was not able to show up. Explained situation to the office and asked if they could not charge me this once as a courtesy. Not only did they keep the charge on, they were rude, left me on hold for 30 min and were dismissive.
