I cannot even believe what I'm reading in Emma B. review, who also negatively reviewed another plastic surgeon the same week she reviewed Dr. Guida. I actually googled Dr. Guida's number because I didn't have it on me and needed it for a friend, and when I saw the review, I had to read it. I'm disgusted by the way she portrayed Dr. Guida and his staff. Dr. Guida and his staff are not only warm and welcoming, but genuinely care about their patients. I have referred many patients to him, both male and female, all of whom were ecstatic with their results. Dr. Guida performed rhinoplasty on me, as well and upper and lower blepheroplasty and laser. I also go to him for Botox and fillers, and he is a genius in that department. NO ONE can ever tell that I have had work done on my face, or that I get injections, and are shocked when I tell them. Please take that review with a grain of salt and click on her profile and see that she slammed another plastic surgeon (for her nose as well) the same week. Dr. Guida elevated my life. As cliched as that might sound, it is the truth. If you are considering rhinoplasty and/or a septoplasty, you're reached one of the right reviews. My story goes back to Fall 2020. Here we go. My older brother suggested that I seriously consider a nose job to improve my profile, give my nose a bit more definition and projection, and to reduce my nostrils - and that was back in late 2019. He knows what he's talking about, given he's done quite well for himself (self made millionaire, etc) and the cold hard truth is, looking your best can help open doors both professionally and personally. And considering how aspirational I am? I went for it. SO... I put in about one month of HARD research, and I scour the internet, send out mass feelers, including ones on RealSelf. Based on his before and after pictures, Dr. Guida made it to my top 5 finalists, and truth be told, he was in the top 3. And to make it to my top 5 (after looking at over 40 surgeons), I cross-referenced Dr. Guida's reviews with .... you guessed it ... Yelp. And his reviews were strong on here too. Eventually, Dr. Guida made it to #1, and I went to see him at his office. I was very impressed with the Upper Eastside location, and his office staff, including Madel, the office manager. Dr. Guida himself was VERY personable, and listened intently to what I was looking for, and was VERY honest about his approach, and what he could and could not do. And so, based on his before and after pictures, his reviews online (including Yelp), and finally, the in person experience, I went ahead and made my deposit and scheduled my surgery. As part of the process, I got an x-ray (at the office's recommendation) to see if I had a deviated septum, especially since I had been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Once I got the x-ray back, it showed that my septum was BADLY deviated, to the point where my oxygen had been cut nearly 50% all my life. And so it was Dr. Guida's recommendation that I get a septoplasty to fix the deviated septum along with the rhinoplasty. Now I had some friends (admittedly in the Midwest) who advised against the septoplasty because they knew people with bad results, and their breathing was even worse than before. And that worried me, because even though I had a badly deviated septum, I had not noticed it, and so I was thinking it would be better to live with it than have a surgery and risk making it worse. And so, when I signed up for surgery, I opted for the rhinoplasty only. On the morning of the surgery about 2 months later (12/27/20), it was a life-changing moment. I went to one of the exam rooms, changed into a gown, and then proceeded to wait to be taken to the OR. But as I waited, I began to read the materials on the exam room walls. One of the materials was a magazine story of how Dr. Guida had saved the nose of the teenage son of a family friend. This son was playing pool with friends late at night, the pool cue had hit a chandelier which came crashing down on his head, and glass from the chandelier cut off the tip of his nose. Long story short, Dr. Guida was called, and he performed emergency surgery (with no anesthesia) to re-attach the tip of the son's nose in the middle of the night, and based on the pictures in the magazine, it was miraculous work. That article convinced me that Dr. Guida was no ordinary doctor, and that he was actually one of the best in his field, and that I could trust him. So literally within an hour of my surgery, when Dr. Guida came in to greet me before the surgery, I let him know I changed my mind, and wanted the septoplasty after all. He seemed genuinely touched at my reasoning, and thanked me for trusting him. I was taken to the OR, the staff was so wonderful. I remember staring up at the lights (so high tech) and then the next thing I remembered was sitting in a chair. Yes, my throat was sore (from the breathing tube) but I felt no pain in my nose area. After being allowed to come to, my best friend was in the waiting room, and he took me back to my apartment. He remarked that he really liked Dr. Guida and could tell he really cared about how I would feel about my results, and got a good feeling from him. I recovered a bit more slowly than what was probably expected, and it's probably here that I should mention that I happen to be of African descent, which means our noses are tougher when it comes to getting a natural but improved look, and we scar way more easily. I am happy to say Dr. Guida aced this nose job - the results look natural, and no one has noticed I got a nose job, the scarring is practically non-existent, but I'm just way more handsome. It's pretty crazy. I have a much better job now - I'm in sales ... and yes, looking good can help you. And Dr. Guida has transformed my life. After 3 years I have finally gotten around to writing Dr. Guida a review. I found Dr. Guida through multiple family members who have used him for procedures throughout the years. Yes, he is not the usual talkative doctor that goes on and on but he says enough to make you feel calm. I never even brought him a picture to show him what I was envisioning but he just "got it" (although I do recommend bringing one). Every procedure is a risk. If I learned anything after having my rhinoplasty it's that there is NO such thing as perfection! But my nose is close enough to it. Dr. Guida did such a good job making it look natural that my own mother didn't believe me after I told her that I had it done. I am not the type of woman that wants people to know they had work done so for me his skill of making it look natural won me over. The surgery itself took about an hour. Recovery was a week long and after that it was smooth sailing. I will say that the final result took a while (months)- with rhinoplasty surgery there is a lot of swelling. My sense of smell is still perfect so I'm super thankful for that. I think it's really important for women to understand that every case is different and Dr. Guida works with your nose. He can't make you look like anyone but YOU. I'm beyond happy with my results. I do not recommend this doctor at all. I breathe worse than I ever had. This doctor was dishonest and intentionally misled me about the cause of my breathing issues - he then performed unnecessary procedures on me in an attempt to obtain insurance compensation. Instead of leaving me with my own nose and improved breathing - He left me with a completely different nose that does not function, lacks underlying cartilaginous support and looks bad. It is crucial for a patient to be able to trust their doctor and to have a thorough and in depth understanding of what the surgical plan will be along with actual reasons for possible deviation from that plan. Dr. Guida does not want to be accountable to informed patients as he is not a skilled enough surgeon to respond to any viable questions. He is intentionally deceptive/unclear. I have wanted a nose job for a very long time, but for a reason or another I kept putting it off making excuses that I couldn't afford it when in reality it was fear that made me put it off for so long . Through my younger years I can remember specific instances where I was embarrassed about my profile: when driving and stopped at a light the driver in the car beside mine would glance at me I would turn away my face and try to hide my profile with my hair . Over the years my self consciousness had become worse. Not wanting to wear my hair up for special occasions, I specifically instructed my wedding photographer not to take any profile shots of me on my wedding day 4 years ago, and many more times that I do not care to mention. When I first met with Dr Guida I felt really comfortable and secure , I knew I was great hands right away. My nose and chin are absolutely beautiful he did an awesome job. Recovery was not bad at all, not being able to breath through the nose is definitely the worst part and some mild headaches for the first couple of days but I took my antibiotics and the painkillers at bed time so that they would help me sleep better. Bruising and swelling was mild to moderate, I will post some pics. Numbness in the chin area from the implant and some mild discomfort and bruising on my neck from the liposuction but it's gotten better and better everyday, just like Dr Guida said it would. My nose looks amazing already only after 4 weeks and I can imagine how great it will look after I'm done healing completely. My only regret is that I didn't have this done sooner. From the first phone call to Dr, Guida's office to the stitches being taken out, was the most amazing experience. The staff is kind, efficient, caring, experienced and thoughtful. From the initial consultation to all the post operation visits, I have nothing but great things to say for Dr. Guida and his entire staff. Many years ago I broke my nose from a basketball injury and as a result, I had a collapsed nose. I looked like a boxer after years of taking beatings. I was really unhappy about my nose and as it worsened over time, got really self conscious. The initial consultation: Dr. Guida gave me the confidence that we could return my nose and even improve what it was before. He showed me on a computer screen what it would looked like. When i looked at pictures of his other patients (both pre and post), what was obvious to me was not only the quality of his surgery but how natural the noses were to each patient. I also liked the aesthetics of his office and the literature he provided. Everything was first class. He was also really nice and humble and so was his staff. I really didn't want an arrogant, stuck up plastic surgeon. Before my second visit, I got a great reference from an ENT (ear nose throat) doctor. After my second visit, I was sold. Preparation: Once I made the decision to move forward, I set a date and his staff gave me so much relevant information and directions. Learning about the procedure, frequently asked questions, and had to take care of after surgery. They also clearly specified what to do prior to surgery to get ready. The surgery: It ended up being a 3 hour surgery because I had some dirty sinuses which he cleaned too. When I first saw my nose, I immediately knew that it was successful and he reassured me it would be. The next few days were uncomfortable but tolerable (about a 6 on the discomfort scale). After a week, the splint came off (also the small incision behind my ear where cartilage was taken from to elevate my nose was almost healed). I loved my nose from the moment I saw it. It is now one of my best facial features and I couldn't be more appreciative to Dr. Guida. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a doctor and artist and also, a gentleman. read more

Terrible doctor, should never touch people. He enjoys to perform disgusting work and enjoys seeing people suffering. Guida was postponing several follow up appointments; his nasty staff was telling me he was on vacation. He is very aware that it is a burden of unhappy patient to prove esthetic and emotional damages. Plastic surgery cases are usually very expensive to prove and are not considered as "a real injury" by most judges. Malpractice lawyers most interested in cases if one looses a limb or gains disability. Guida is a surgeon that shovels his pockets with money he doesn't earn. He is careless about people he butchers, knowing they likely will not win the case against him. He takes advantage of the situation. He is not a true doctor - he is over there only for money. I wish somebody would perform a nose reshaping to him like he did to me. He performed an open nose reshaping without asking if I agree to proceed with that kind of very invasive procedure (if I would only know what he was planning to do!) . Later he lied that he did mentioned to me about the cut open surgery - in fact he had never mentioned it to me, otherwise I would never go near his office ever again. The open surgery is the last thing on the Earth I would ever consider to do.Open rhinoplasty is very invasive and is absolutely unnecessary. Open rhinoplasty ruins one's face profile for the rest of his or her life and the one will always have that forever sensation of a deep cut which is noticeable no matter what this ignorant and poor quality doctor can try to suggest as an excuse. Guida performed a terrible surgery on my nose, I was left with obviously crooked nose, with breathing problem (I have to grasp for breath every time I walk fast or when I eat). I have never planed to change a lot in my nose appearance - all I wanted to make my tip of the nose to look thiner. Why this Guida decided to cut open the space between my nostrils, and why he decided to reduce the bridge on my nose in a crooked way and to the point that I cannot breath properly anymore. In fact, I keep sniffing every time I exhale. What kind of esthetic surgery is that? Also, my upper lip feels numb and I have difficulty pronouncing certain sounds which affect my speech. The above review couldn't be farther from the truth. I had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Guida and I am so happy with the results. I spent years researching surgeons, and Dr. Guida's work and experience outshone anyone else I experienced. I was very nervous about having the procedure done, being that it was a change to my face. From the first meeting, Dr. Guida was very kind and patient in explaining the procedure and answering all of my questions. He takes pictures and does a digital render of what the general look will be after the surgery, which was very helpful in calming my nerves. The end result ended up being way better than the images. I had a bump removed from the bridge of my nose, as well as a decent amount of cartilage removed from the tip. My main concern was it looking natural, I didn't want people to immediately notice, or not recognize me. I was quite terrified of having a Jennifer Grey situation. He assured me that natural is what he does, and he was right. Besides the people I told, no one even noticed that I had an operation, but it looks so good. Basically like someone photoshopped me a little. His whole staff was wonderful throughout the whole process, patiently answering my endless questions and being very accommodating about appointment scheduling. He is incredibly conscientious and thorough, and encouraging about asking questions at any time. I always felt that I could call the office and he or Jessica would get back to me quickly. What I liked about Dr. Guida (aside from him making me feel totally at ease and being so incredibly kind) is that he is double board certified. I had 4 procedures done in April - 3 medical and one cosmetic.. it was not the easiest procedure and my recovery took longer than most (up to 4 weeks before the bruises fully faded away) .. breathing is now getting much much better, headaches have subsided, and loveeee the way it looks.. but the best part was Dr. Guida himself and his entire staff.. Dr. Guida is super calm and pleasant. He takes his time with his patients and his work speaks for itself. I've gotten compliments but mostly "not sure what's different but you look great". The staff are all very nice and professional and most importantly they are well knowledgeable on the procedures and always available to help. Unlike other offices, you won't always get the "you have to come see the doctor". They gave helpful tips to ease the pain and help with recovery and were always pleasant and compassionate. Another major plus, Dr. Guida has his own line of skincare.
