I went with 7 friends, you enter at Gate 8 off of Clinton Drive, just tell the security guard you are there for the tour. There is a nice plaza to wait at right next to the boats. The parking lot is safe; let's face it, the only folks getting in have to pass security! A bit before 10 am one of the employees came out to check everyone in and handed out bottles of cold water which was great as it was almost 90 degrees outside in full sunlight. We boarded and were asked to sit inside while they got underway. One of the shipmates gave a safety talk and then we were free to go outside. The boat moves along at a pretty good pace, every now and then it slows for tug boat traffic. You get to see the industries that are along the ship channel. There are lots of big ships and also small ones. Some are loading or unloading, others are being repaired or a clean coat of paint. The shipmates serve coffee for the adults on the way and after turning around after about 45 minutes they offer cold water and soft drinks. There are so many photo opportunities so take lots of pictures. You are asked to go inside while they secure to the dock, the air conditioning feels great. Then you are on your way. The entire crew was so nice, they were helpful and friendly and could answer questions. Please, if you plan to take children, keep them under control. While not dangerous, there are things to watch for so you don't trip and the doors for the cabin are very heavy and hard to open and shut quickly so a child could easily get hurt. Hermann Park Pedal Boats provides a fun outdoor experience in the heart of the city…read more It costs $12 per boat. One boat seats up to 4 people; two peddlers in the front and two riders in the back. The boats are equipped with a sun shade (thank goodness - it can get hot out there on the open water!) and a simple steering stick in the middle. The boat isn't hard to operate; just pedal forwards or backwards and use the stick to direct the boat. A word of caution: wear waterproof shoes! The space for the pedals can fill with water, and our feet definitely got wet. Our pedals were also a little on the rusty side, and mine squeaked angrily the whole ride. The views are fun from the center of the lake. You can see all around the park, including the central fountain and the iconic Pioneer Memorial Obelisk. Lots of geese, ducks, and turtles in the water. The geese like to come up to the boats, and there was even one or two that wanted to greet us on the way in.

They have no A/C but plenty of fans going and cold beer, tvs for the games and good food. Horseshoe bar, plenty of tables, very friendly staff. The burger was on point, the rings were typical frozen bag and the shrooms were par but I still enjoyed it. They have load of other things on the menu to tickle your fancy. If you want a change of scenery, food and drinks then sneak off to Good Times Marina. Till we eat again.

We drove to the park to see if that perfect RV spot had opened up and was stopped by a very rude standoffish woman which we learned was the owner/manager Kathy (so she said). One thing I know real well is how to approach and welcome a prospective resident; a "Hello may I help you" with a smile is how you approach a person, but instead got a sharp rude "What do you need." Right then with her comment and mannerism I knew this was not where we want to be. We are sad that Good Times will not be our future home but dealing with a rude manager is not a place we want to call home. We never had a chance to try the restaurant which has rave reviews but be choose not to patronize a place management is not welcoming. Suggestion Ms Kathy practice you social skills when approaching a person.
