Drove out of Rincon on Easter morning (1st time in RIncon, 2nd visit to PR) curious what we would find open to eat. I saw a cloud of tasty smoke and knew we'd found the spot! We got in line at about 11am, and were eating shortly thereafter. We got the lunch special, both getting a half bird. We sat at a covered picnic table and chowed down! The chicken was delicious; nicely seasoned, charred a bit on the grill, and juicy. It was great! Sides were just so-so. I got the rice with pigeon peas which didn't taste like much, and the plantain salad, which I was previously unfamiliar with and interested in trying. It was pretty unripe plantains with onions and cilantro. Just OK. This was the place to be on Easter Sunday! The line got way longer after we arrived and they probably had 200 chickens cooking! I want to highly recommend this place. All the food is delicious. It is cooked over charcoal and has a wonderful taste. We had a Chuleta Can Can and it was one of the best I've had. My wife had the ribs. We also had the yucca al ajillo and my wife had the the guineitos Al escabeche. Everything was wonderful. The only negative was the long lines. Out of ALLLLLLLLLL the fancy restaurants we went to this food truck was absolutely the best food we had in Puerto Rico. Our 2 plates only cost $22 together. Service was great, me and my husband don't speak Spanish but the woman took her time to understand what we wanted. We stood in aguada for nearly a month and ate here 3 times. I wish I could have packed this place up and brought it back home with me. The people were kind, efficient and up early everyday making the freshest food. The chicken has to be the best chicken I have ever had. They have mastered how to get the flavor not just in the skin, like most other places, but all the way through the meat. With this being a typical outside/side of the road location, they had a nice covered area to sit under and a sink to wash your hands before and after you enjoyed your meal. Found this place on Yelp. It's basically a roadside stand. And if you aren't paying attention you will ride past it. The gps was not helping with this one. The food was so good. Chicken was seasoned very well. They had many sides. Authentic Puerto Rican food here. I enjoyed it. This is the best charbroiled chicken I've ever had. For 6.50 you get a HALF chicken with one side and a water. (They may have other drinks in not sure. I had a bottle water) 7.50 gets you all white meat. This is a lot of food! Seriously. We drove by this place a few times while staying in Rincon, and I'm SO glad we stopped here! It's legit roadside food, with no specifics on when they open or close. Generally, they're done by 2 or 3PM, depending on if they sell out. Process is simple: Go order your meat. It comes with a side and your choice of rice. IT'S FILLING. We had 1/2 a chicken and ribs, and both were super moist. This shared between 3 people (with sweet potato and plantains as sides) was WAY TOO MUCH FOOD. No idea how people are able to finish such large portions. All for the low, low price of $6-7 a plate. If it wasn't so bloody hot, I'd have lived there. read more

This spot since I have been coming to Aguadilla /- -Aguada fell in love with their chicken. So I went today and picked up 2 each chicken, yuca en escabeche, arroz con gandules for (4) and also I asked for the last two batatas , paid the $24 and left 5 dollars tip, drove home in Aguadilla and they have not given me the tow batatas I ordered and only 1 each chicken . After a turbulent 3 day relationship with Alejandra Melendez, we were leaving Rincon. Alee was crying and sick from hot tub drinking when she saw Carbon express in the distance. Her curiosity was highly rewarded as we pulled over for the sweet, succulent smell of bbq chicken. When she ordered, it reminder her of the blissful first day of the trip. When they brought her the chicken with Yuca, she almost passed out in ecstasy. It reminded her of the hot tub. Each bite was an explosion of flavor. The tears started flowing again, as she was reminded of how fragile life is. Lastly, when we paid the bill it was a pleasure. The money went far and long and the transaction was easy. If you are looking for great local food this is the place. Pork, chicken, ribs, and sauaage are cooked to perfection in a large, roadaide, coal-fire grill. The outdoor covered seating area was clean and the cooks were friendly. We had the sausage lunch plate and the chicken lunch plate. The portions were large and the meats were delicious. When we started our vacation in PR we were excited about the prospect of good, inexpensive, local foods. We were dismanyed by the lack of options.
