I would love to give a 5 star but were very disappointed. The past few times there we noticed the margaritas were very weak ( isn't that what mex restaurants are for?). Since our last visit we have heard the same complaint from other friends and family. As expensive as the meal and drinks are we should be able to taste and eventually feel the tequila in our drinks. Thats part of why we go to mex restaurants, great food and drinks. Not the case at Rancho anymore, great food and lousy margaritas. Sad to see! Used to be our favorite place for family special occasions. Thought about taking our own tequila and adding to our drinks, but why should we spend more money for expensive weak drinks when there are other establishments in town that serve that don't cheat their customers. As far as Mansfield/Ashland area goes, this place is the best! Fresh, homemade chips and salsa are always delicious! We've never had any complaints! Their coca-cola is really good here too :) Service is great. read more

I also used Yelp to find this place - first time going there from Cleveland! The portions were great and reaonably priced. I got a Shrimp Chimichanga and my friend got the Enchilades Verdes. Both were served hot and delicious and we both shared a Jumbo fruit margarita. The server was friendly and attentive. No complaints with the bathrooms or anything. Ordered the Birria tacos which are supposed to be dipped in the same red chilli sauce that the beef is stewed in. The taco shells were served dry and the shredded beef had no hint of red chilli sauce. Not authentic at all. Probably best to stick with something generic like fajitas or a burrito when dining here. read more

Can't ever go wrong here! My favorite is the fish tacos. Nobody does them better. Served with Mango salsa & cheese. (along with some other unidentified hot sauce) The Margarittas are awesome! I've been a regular here for years. read more

I've worked here for over 4 years, and our food quality goes unmatched! I've been to Mexican restaurants everywhere and no one can compete with Rancho Fiesta's authentic food. People come from all over to dine with us! During Mid Ohio races we have folks from many other states that make it a point to come to Rancho Fiesta while they're in town. Last evening we set off from Galion to Lexington to try Paul Revere's Family Restaurant only to discover they close at 2:00 p.m. - not being able to eat where we wanted and having to find another restaurant seems to be a common theme for us as evidenced in several of my other reviews. Once again, we consultant the Yelp app and find Rancho Fiesta just up the road a couple of miles. We arrive 5:30ish and are seated immediately. On the way to our gigantic booth (more about that later) we notice the beautiful bar area which is actually almost out of place for a casual mexican restaurant. The restaurant appears to be clean and all is well so far. My wife and I are sat at a booth for at least six - eight people. Special note: If you are a diner of larger proportions you will have plenty of room at the booths. My wife and I total about 250 pounds combined and were uncomfortable at our giant booth. There was probably close to two feet of space between my chest and our table. If we visit again we will insist on a table with actual chairs. Our waiter, Nestor, appears within a couple of minutes and we are immediately impressed with his ability to establish a quick rapport with us. My wife orders a mojito and he cards her. Upon discovering how old she actually is he nudges me saying, "Wow - you really got lucky buddy... to have a wife who looks so young". Well played, Nestor... My wife orders grilled chicken chimichangas and I try the grilled chicken quesadilla. Prior to receiving our meals we are served the customary chips and salsa and found them to be one of the better versions we've tried over the years. Our meals arrived incredibly fast at maybe just a little over five minutes. We both try the rice and find it be be dry, very spicy, and with a strong jalapeno flavor - not good. My wife tries her chimichanga and finds it just ok. She thought the flavor was so-so and the chicken was too salty. I finished my rice purely out of hunger. My grilled chicken quesadilla on the other hand was just a little too unappealing to finish - I only got about halfway through it before tiring of the overly salted flavor and off-putting flavor of various spices. My wife's mojito was also not very good as she noted it was very heavy on the lime and very light on the mint. Our total bill was $26 without tip. My final take is that the service was good with our waiter being very attentive and the food came out fast. The food fell short, but wasn't horrible either. The menu is expansive and I imagine there may be several items here that I would enjoy. I will just stay clear of anything with grilled chicken. With service this solid we will be back at some point for round two :) read more

Good food, enjoy the flavors and the environment of the restaurant itself. However, to go food seems to be much less carefully made, less in quantity (noticeably awkwardly less) and that seems to me to be quite unfortunate. When one gets used to good food and such, then when you get it to go it changes in flavor and size for the price, a ten dollar burrito that is underwhelming for the money charged. In house i never had that issue. Hence 3 stars. Well worth it in the restaurant I'd choice elsewhere to go. Just my experience. read more

It was really busy here on a Thursday night when we were in town for the Vintage Motorcycle Days @ Mid-Ohio. We could have gotten a table, but we asked to eat at the bar since "that guy who used to play for the Cavs" was making his decision that night. We split a pitcher of Dos Equis, which was on tap, and an order of Veggie Fajitas. Perfect! Really good food and drink. Our picky order (of no queso, no crema, no arroz) was no problem. The veggies in the fajita mix were cooked just right, and our waiter kept the chips and salsa flowing. Sadly, of course, "the decision" was not in favor of the Cavs, but we had a good time anyway. read more

I worked in this building back in the 80s when it was a Rax fast food restaurant. The transformation is amazing. Sometimes re-purposed buildings still have the aura of its former self. Not the case here. They obviously invested a lot of time, energy and money into transforming it into an unique spot on Mansfield's south side. The former drive-thru lane is a patio. A bar was erected where the condiment stand stood. The centerpiece "endless" salad bar made way for the classic Mexican-restaurant roofed booths. The solarium area has been expanded with vaulted beams. The restrooms were gutted and rebuilt. Even the stairway to the upper parking lot has been updated. I moved from town but still return to visit mom. Been in here several times over the years and it's consistently friendly, fast and good. Had a fantastic grilled enchilada last night, washed down with an ice-cold Dos Equis. I'll continue to work my way through the menu as the opportunity arises. read more

Ugh. Where do I start? This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Apart from the family sized bottle of Dep hair gel wedged in the window between the cash register and the kitchen; the food is good, the margaritas are fantastic, and typically the speed of service makes Speedy Gonzalas look like Slow Poke. So why the "ugh"? Because the last time I was there, we had the worst service ever. We sat at a booth and were served chips and salsa immediately. Then we sat and waited for over 10 minutes. I had to go up to the counter and ask for a server. A few minutes later, a man showed up and apologized for the wait. He explained that the seating chart had changed and he was unaware. Ok. I used to be a server. That's happened to me before, too. He took our drink order and rushed away before we can give him our food order, which we had ready practically when we got through the door... Another long wait. No drinks. No server. But wait! My cousin spied him going out the front door. Why? There are no tables out front. The restaurant was far from busy. Why was it taking so long to get service? After we finally got our drinks and order taken, our food was delivered by another man. The second guy was fantastic. We asked for sour cream, he got it and brought it right back. We needed more napkins, he had them in his hand. The first guy showed back up to give us the checks just as our forks hit empty plates. He apologized again for the mix up, but it's too little too late. We figured out later that he gave 2 of the 3 checks discounts. We didn't ask for discounts. All we wanted was good service after the mistake was understood. We kinda got it, but not from the man who was collecting our tips. I'll go back and enjoy myself, but it will be awhile before I can get pumped up about it like I used to. read more

Second time here and it's super flavorful. Service was fast then slow and so on. Rather disappointed with quality of guacamole, mushy with loads of chunky tomatoes to cover the purée. This is one of the few "must try" restaurants in the area. They start you off with some amazing salsa and an endless supply of freshly cooked tortilla chips. They have a full bar so you can wash 'em down with your favorite beverage (and the margaritas are an excellent choice). I've eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The Tacos al Pastor are my favorite but the tamales are slowly winning me over. My wife has never moved past the Super Burrito. Great food and great atmosphere.
