Excellent food and staff the service is second to none. We frequent this location when in town, the atmosphere is also like other.

My wife and I are staying at the Mount Gilead State Park, and we wanted to go out to eat. Honestly, this is probably the best restaurant in Mount Gilead. That said, the interior is a little tacky and worn, but the food and service are terrific! My wife ordered a à la carte chicken enchilada and a side of rice while I ordered their shredded chicken taco and chicken tortilla soup. All four dishes were huge and delicious! I did need to add a little kicker to the salsa but all things considered, it was pretty good! The chicken tortilla soup had a huge amount of chicken in it, accompanied by fresh fried tortilla bits. Combined with the salad, it was more than enough for a wonderful dinner! read more

The food was fantastic! My companion and I both truly enjoyed our lunch. The staff left a bit to be desired as far as friendliness. The service was good, but the interaction needed to improve. I don't know if it was a language issue, because they didn't attempt to interact. But I would most definitely recommend the restaurant. read more

Cute spot in downtown Mount Gilead. Our large group was seated quickly on a Saturday around noon. Service was quick and very friendly. Typical menu options. Prices were good and the lunch menu options were available on the weekends. I had the lunch chicken and chorizo with rice and beans. My husband had a ground beef taco and enchilada. In both cases the meat did not taste like it had been seasoned directly. The sauces had good flavor and the chorizo was spiced well but overall I would prefer the meat to have seasoning of its own - at least salt and pepper. I would say if you are in the area this is a solid choice for basic Mexican fare with quick service and good prices. read more

Best Mexican food on the planet and have been all over the United States as a commercial driver and travel a lot . And here they are in my own city and always freindy and food is hot and tasty and fresh . Only thing is the outside deck area and parking lot is dirty and weeds not attended to during warm months and needs to be addressed . Clean and paint and pick weeds . The service and ambiance were good, the food itself is unfortunately the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I've been there twice and the only thing that was good was the margaritas. I got a combo platter, both items were nothing but plain ground beef with nothing on it, flour tortilla, bland tomato sauce and some plain cheese warmed up. There was no difference between the different items. Tamal was also dry and bland. Queso was bland and watery, salsa had no spice or texture. Pretty sad when Taco Bell has more flavor and differentiation between items. read more

I've gone here a couple of times. It's a good Mexican restaurant with generous portion sizes. It's not the best, but still pretty good. Most recently I tried the vegetable fajitas as I like to compare how it is at various locations. This was a bit unusual as the fajitas had broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots in them. It's an interesting choice I'm not entirely in support of, but I think the flavor being a bit lacking might not be due entirely by the vegetables. The service is normally good, but this time was rather lacking as she was chatting with friends more than working. The décor was warm and cozy with a unique exterior that makes it very noticeable. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever had. Of course I always order more than I can eat! Chicken Tortilla soup, Shrimp Quesadilla, and a hard taco! My fiancé ordered 3 tacos also. Enough food for lunch and dinner for $30! Also, the staff is always attentive and nice. We sometimes sit at the bar and get margaritas! Something about this place just feels like a warm home. Small place with very good service & excellent food. Our waiter was very friendly and peeked in on us from time to time just to make sure we didn't need anything. This is the best Mexican restaurant ever! Their Fajita Mexicanas are the best along with their peach margaritas on the rocks with sugar on the rim. My daughters like to get the Pollo Con Crema, which they of course love. We ordered take-out here on a whim while passing through the town. We didn't know anything about the town nor this restaurant, but we were very pleasantly surprised! Their menu is diverse and very fairly priced. The food was surprisingly authentic- very unexpected for mid- Ohio. To start very good food. Had the enchiladas and were excellent. Traditional ambiance. That is the only good thing I can say about our dining experience. Waited over 20 minutes to have order taken. Ok they were busy I get that but others seated after us were served first. We then waited over an hour for our food to arrive. All the time waitress acted like we were not there. Finally caught attention of bus girl and she took our complaint to manager. We were told it was a computer error but that would have been easily fixed if waitress would have checked on us. Empty water glass and chip bowl for an hour. Paid our tab in full and left with a not very good experience. read more
