When I moved to Minnesota I got used to not having the same level of delicious meals in this style of cooking readily available. Rancho Grande fits the bill! Very good service!! We ordered ala carte. The beef and bean burrito is huge!!! I only ate half and was pretty full. Almost stuffed but not quite. The hubs had a beef tostada and a side of beans. It was just the right amount for him. We'd definitely come back. For this "Minnesota Bland" girl, the salsa was plenty spicy!! Best Mexican food in the area. We have been regulars at Rancho Grande for many years. I am particularly fond of the "Pollo Loco" or the Chicken Chimichanga. One of the features of this place is the free tortilla chips and salsa that each table gets upon being seated. The only reason I give it a 4/5 stars is that the guacamole is generally really whipped up and not very authentic tasting. Everything else is great. read more

When seated, we were never offered a highchair/booster we had to go find one ourselves. Husband ordered Pollo Loco, had to de-vein his own shrimp, which later he said he shouldn't have eaten at all saying they were borderline bad & tasted freezer burnt. I got Burritos Mexicanos - 1 chicken/1 steak. The steak tasted freezer burnt and was overcooked/hard to eat. Son ate children's Mac & Cheese. We ended up pulling a 6 in black hair out of his mouth. This place is a favorite. The food is great, I usually head for the fajita chicken and steak or the chimichangas. My husband usually gets a sampler because he can't decide and it's all good. We love the complimentary basket of tortilla chips and salsa. The food comes quick and large portions. I love taking the leftovers home and reliving my meal. It's very economical too. The decor is traditional south of the border, which I like. Too many other Mexican restaurants I USED to go to remodeled and look like any other sports bar/grill. The staff has always been polite. There is one guy that works there that is wonderful about always stopping by and saying hi to the children at any table, he clearly values the customers and wants them to know it. Absolutely LOVE this place! I usually get the chicken chimichangas. Fantastic. Juicy, smothered with homemade cheese sauce, crispy and delicious! Their chips and salsa are the best I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Their virgin daquiris taste like strawberry smoothies (well, that could be because that's all it is, I guess). Rancho Grande has been our go to place if we are looking for half decent Mexican food in Buffalo. Overall, the food was tasty but the salsa needs some spicing up! I make better at home. But the refried beans and rice are really tasty! We have had several dishes there, and for the most part we're really happy. Now we recently moved from an area with lots of great Mexican restaurants so it is hard to compare. Their service is fast and awesome. Staff is very attentive and is right there if you even look like you need anything. I think, if anything, they need to ramp up their pico de gallo and salsa. Stop making it for the basic Buffalonian and educate them on flavor! Also, I would love to see some authentic tacos on the menu. I miss having them! read more

Food was just OK but the service was terrible. I don't know if it was because I was dining alone but that should make no difference at all. Had to try several times to get the attention of the waiter to refill my beverage. He was in no way friendly. He acted like I was bothering him.
