What a great find! A fantastic restaurant where you least expect it! We had the meatballs appetizer, the salad with sunflower seeds and the Carne wood-fired pizza. The meatballs and pizza were *exceptional*. The salad was just fine - a little too plain for our taste but it was exactly as described on the menu. If you want REAL Italian Pizza, like they serve in Italy, then this is your place. If you want Tasty, Seasoned Pizza, Yummy Sauce, and Pizza you just can't get enough of, then go somewhere else. The Sauce was Chopped Tomatoes, No Salt, No Flavor. Great Atmosphere, Nice Staff, Pretty Decor. Not very Child Friendly, even though mine is grown. Only Water, Tea, San Pellegrino, Beer, and Wine, so if you want Soda, they do not carry it. Desserts sounded good though. Will not come back, did not leave happy. Left almost a whole Pizza, at $16. Wow! Came here with three other couples last night. What an unbelievable treat. The decor was absolutely inviting and something you might expect to find in Austin rather than Coleman. The menu at first seemed somewhat limited, but that was quickly lost with the first bite of our appetizer--FRESH BURRATA CHEESE cream-filled mozzarella drizzled with truffle oil; $7 It was fantastic, and they brought us extra bread to finish it off. As with all brick oven joints, it took just a bit to get our pizzas..of course we were waiting on five pizzas and a few other things. The pizza arrived pretty close together so that wasn't really an issue. We had a MARGHERITA--tomato sauce. mozzerella. basil --$12 FUNGI--roasted shiitake. bechamel. fontina. roasted garlic. white truffle oil--$16 ARUGULA--bechamel. truffle oil. mozzarella. wild arugula. prosciutto--$18 SAUSAGE--crushed tomatoes. fontina. Italian sausage. Calabrian chiles--$18 And a CARNE--crushed tomatoes. prosciutto. italian sausage. pepperoni. fontina. Calabrian chiles'$20 Everyone of them was magnificent, but I think the Argula was the surprise of the bunch..and that says a lot coming from this carnivore! SPOILER ALERT-- ok. I hate to say this but I'm sure it will save someone some heartache down the road. Consumer beware of the specials. Our waitress informed us the special of the night was Lasagne, and it did sound rather inviting, but I was there for pizza and I wasn't biting! ;) however, three of our party did. The lasagne was presented in a little skillet like dish, and to all accounts was pretty good. The shocker came when the bill was delivered...wait for it........... $28 each! It was a serving of lasagne! A $28 entree should look like these: Baked Sole Filet in Lime Broth with Mashed Potatoes Forestière and Asparagus. Bouillabaisse de Marseilles. Or Hardwood Grilled Atlantic Salmon   Teriyaki Glazed with Basmati Rice, Spinach, Beech Mushrooms, Honey-Lemon Tea Jus, & Sesame Or even Maple-Glazed Cod  with Sweet Potatoes, Bacon Braised Collard Greens, & Spiced Pecans But definitely NOT lasagne! On the restaurant's behalf, we did not ask the cost of the special, but they didn't offer the price either. I mean, it's Lasagne. An $8 serving, and maybe $15 tops in a restaurant like this, but $28? I think not. If you want lasagne, get it at Little Joe's or Dantes in Abilene and save the gas! Everything else about our evening was fantastic! And we will be back. But, we will never fail to ask the price of the " Special" again....anywhere. read more

Awesome! Been reading about it so drove from Goldthwaite to meet kids that drove from Albany. We had the Margherita, Carne and Fungi pizzas! Fungi was our favorite! Staff was great, service excellent and didn't wait long at all. Can't wait to go try more! read more

I write Yelp reviews very infrequently, so I hope the fact that I am going to the trouble underscores just how fantastic of an experience we had at Rancho Pizzeria. You don't feel like you're in the middle of Coleman, TX when you walk in and the food will leave you wanting more. We started with the meatballs and they were probably the tastiest I've ever had, and followed it up with salads (House and Caesar) which were both very high caliber. Then the pizzas came. Both the Fungi and the sausage pies were utterly delicious. All of the toppings were fresh and flavorful and the cheese and crust were filling but not too filling. Also the staff was very friendly and made our experience a pleasant one. If you're anywhere in the area or passing through I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Bit of a hipster/desert motif going, but pretty cool. Got the burrata appetizer and a couple of pizzas (carne and a marg). Both were really good with a charred crispy crust, sauce was tangy and the toppings were clearly high quality. It's not Neapolitan in style, so if you come expecting that you might be disappointed, but it's still really good really well made pizza. Next time we pass through Coleman we'll stop here again. read more

What?!! A 5 star pizza in Coleman Texas?! Why yes Rancho pizza checks all of the boxes. The wait staff on our visit was friendly and helpful. We cam on a Thursday so we were seated right away and were greeted with water already served on the table. The waitress quickly got our appetizer order of artichoke dip, the shortly after our pizza order. The artichoke dip was not the best Ive ever had but this is a pizza place! Once the pizza came out I was blown away. The Crust could most likely pass the authenticity test used in Italy! Stretchy, soft, slightly chewy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. The topings were fresh tasting I had the pepperoni, which was topped with thick parmesan slices. And Kate had the Arugula pizza which was topped with parmesan and prosciutto. Overall the food was impressive for any neck of the woods but it just so happens that this gem is right in the middle of a small town in Texas! read more

Amazing find in Coleman, TX. Upscale pizzeria with very fresh taste and look. Excellent service. My wife and I ordered the Carne only requested half to have chiles. They brought one that had all chiles on it but had already put in another with none on it without us asking. Olive tapenade and goat cheese was layered with garlic and spices. So I have wanted to come and dine here for a few months after moving from Ft. Worth. Finally made the short trip over to Coleman today and was a little disappointed. I don't usually write reviews but thought if they see this this it might help. We ordered the artichoke dip as an appetizer and it tasted like the frozen kind you can buy at the grocery store. We wanted the Arugula pizza that shows on their menu on Facebook, but it was not available. We ordered the pepperoni. The crust on the very outer edge of the pizza was crispy, but unfortunately the rest was a soggy mess, not sure why, but it was. The ambiance was cool and the waitress could use a little pep. We said we will come again, to give it one more try. Maybe it was an off day, or we are not "in the know" for the awesome stuff. read more

We stopped last Wednesday on our way home from a day trip in the hill country. The service was great, the restaurant is very cleverly decorated and appealing. The wine and beer selections are small but very well chosen! I had the Blood and Honey beer and my husband had the Deep Elam IPA, both were excellent. We had a Caesar salad and shared the Carne pizza. Without a doubt this is the best brick oven pizza we have ever had! We will definitely be going back, this a great place for a relaxing meal and date night! read more
