Unprofessional Work, Skyrocketing Costs, and Worthless Warranty…read moreI cannot recommend Cal Star Mobile Home Construction. While their salesman is excellent at closing deals, the actual construction work and customer service are incredibly poor. I initially hired them for subfloor repairs in my kitchen and master bath, plus some minor work on my back porch. The initial quote seemed reasonable, so I paid the deposit. However, the scope of work quickly changed. They claimed they couldn't fix the kitchen subfloor without tearing out the tile, forcing me into an expensive new kitchen floor. In the end, the price skyrocketed under high-pressure tactics, my bathroom floor was altered, but the porch was never fixed at all. The quality of the installation is unacceptable. They cut corners by failing to run the new flooring the full length of the room, leaving unfinished gaps hidden behind my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. The flooring is also not laid tight and is separating. When I pointed this out, their "flooring specialist" dismissively asked, "You can see that?" Their warranty is completely worthless, and they didn't fix the problems. I am now forced to hire a legitimate contractor to completely redo their substandard work. Avoid this company.

I have lived here with my wife for almost 12 years, she has lived here longer. It's pretty nice…read morehere and the neighbors are as well. The park itself is its age and the owner doesn't do much to upgrade. Plumbing works well and power only goes out with the neighboring grid. The internet is 1970s burred telcom and I have seen no plans to renovate. The communication is also antiquated so I just built a community website to help with this. https://www.spmhp.com. I parked outside my dad's house to help my disabled family member get out of my car and up 4 stairs…read moreto get inside the home. I was parked a total of 4 minutes and the tow truck company came in and before he could even get his truck in a position to try to lift mine, I was already back inside my car. My car was still running because it was hot outside and my 17, 12, and 6 year old were still inside. I told the driver that I couldnt afford a tow right and it would set me back financially in the worst way. He told me that i was wasting his time and that the clock was ticking and every minute of his time that i wasted was going to cost me more money. He said that i was lying and I had no plan to leave or my hazards wouldve been flashing. I begged him and told him that and that we had an appointment at calstate for my daughter that just graduated and we coulsnt miss it cause it was for admissions. I offered to pay him cash, he said no. He then told me it wasnt his problem and that i could figure out how to get the car out. He then said he was going to run my plates cause he thought i might be behind on payments and he said he would repo my car and i wouldnt have the option to get it back. I told him that there isnt a repo out for my car and asked why he couldnt let me pay the tow yard fee for him to drop it. He said he wouldn't drop it for any price and i needed to get away from his car. He told me if my dad didnt give him an attitude then he may have considered letting me have a pass but since he didnt like my dads attitude i was gonna have to pay it. Luckily my dad called the park's main office and spoke to the manager, who instructed us to tell the drop to charge us a drop fee and let me car go.... the driver then agreed. Charged me 120$. Said it was cash only. Then he asked for my registration and license... i believe he was checking to see if he was able to repo my car, after i handed him cash. As soon as he was done, he circled around and sat 2 homes away watching us, like he was about to do the same thing again. Very unfair, very unprofessional and arrogant. I understand not being allowed to park in front of the home for a long period of time. But for him to actually see my family member that limited mobility and see my kids in the car crying, and still try to take my car, is heartless. And, we have the whole interaction on the ring camera.
