My family did a trail ride at Rand Creek Ranch while staying in Wapiti valley and we loved every second of it! The owners are so friendly and I loved chatting with Krystal. Our trail ride guides, David and Hayden, were kind, knowledgeable and fun to talk with. We would highly recommend booking a trail ride here.

My girlfriend and I visited Rand Ranch for a 2 hour horse back ride. They we're more than accommodating, even after we showed up over an hour late (we got stuck in a bison herd). We were lucky enough to have phone signal so we called and they held our reservation. The ride itself was perfect! My girlfriend and I had a guide all to ourselves. She was very kind, great conversation, and definitely knew her way around a horse. I unfortunately do not recall her name, but honestly every single person we came in contact with at the ranch wrere kind. We took a nice ride up to a scenic peak where we had a beautiful view of the mountain range. Our guide was full of fun facts about the local foliage, critters, and nearby town Cody. The ranch also offers cabins for rent. I did not rent one as I had an RV, but they looked nice from the outside. The horse's looked well taken care of and all had their own personalities. If you're looking for a great horse back ride, definitely visit rand creek ranch. Not to mention they had the most affordable pricing I found when calling around to other ranches.

Trial ride views are top-notch!

TEN STAR SPOT! Excellent & immaculate!!! We stayed in cabin 6 (aka Hideaway!) If you're looking for clean, kind, friendly, hard-working, accommodating -- awesome vacation spot & trail rides - then BOOK NOW! My hubby & I stayed w/ our 2 sons (11 & under). Beautiful views, cozy cabins, great hiking, excellent trail ride with amazing mountain views! The wranglers engaged with our boys in the evening, teaching them to rope! Pond for fishing, paddle boating & kayaking. Close to Yellowstone's east entrance -- our fav side of the park! Cody Rodeo right up the road! No TV's-- so awesome! Crystal & Joel do an fabulous job of providing you with an amazing experience! They have 8 pm campfire fellowship time, among the mountains! So serene! Truly God's country! ANNNDDD they had guest access to a washer & dryer - my fav thing!

Horseback riding only. Late September and Ryan Creek Ranch was more than willing to take us on a 2 or 4 hour horseback riding. I had called other places a few weeks before and they were already closed for the season. The owner at Rand Creek said come on out and we will be happy to have you. Our guide was a nice blond Texan who had spent the last four Summers up there and she knew trails. We went up and up and up some more, past spectacular rock formations, through beautiful fall foliage and views of the valley below. Warning: This trail ride is fairly simple. One trail horse behind the next, one after the other. They are steerable, but you are expected to stay in line. Overall, my party had a great time for a reasonable price with a working ranch that delivered on it commitments to show us a good time. I'd go back here and I'd even consider staying here as the cabins all looked new and inviting.

We weren't able to set up for the wedding until a few hours before and that was because they didn't have anything ready. We had to clean the place before setting up because nothing had been cleaned. They had my deposit for over four months and I paid the entire balance 30 days before the wedding and yet they still did NOT have the place ready even though I was assured it would be. Because we had to do all of the cleaning and then the setting up I missed out on being present while my daughter got ready. I didn't get to help her into her dress. I didn't get to make memories or take pictures. I was robbed out of many things that day. Also, family stayed on the property and paid full price despite dirty rooms that were t even ready to be checked into until late evening and no hot water the next day. The website promises available breakfast and yet there was no breakfast and the restaurant was closed. They were told it was seasonal; the website says NOTHING about being seasonal. For the first 3 months after booking the ranch for the wedding, I could NOT get anyone to communicate with me. Many emails went unanswered as well as voicemails. When the one and I guess only staff member did finally communicate with me it was to tell me that an entire crew was getting the event center ready. Well that turned out to be one of many lies to come!!!! Nothing was ever done to get the place ready until we did it ourselves, the day of the wedding!!!! Also, we booked the "event center " sight unseen and was promised pictures on many occasions. Never once got any pictures. Then when we finally get there and are taken to the "event center," it turns out to be a huge garage, with no heat or running water. The bathroom facilities were several yards away and if turns out they were dirty and didn't have any towels to wipe hands on. We were out and out lied to many times and I will NEVER recommend this place, at least not with the current staff!!!!!!!

Tatrice was a great server. FOOD: Filet mignon was phenomenal. Shrimp scampi was one of the best I've ever had. Ribs are "fall-off-the-bone" - super tasty. Halibut with stuffed crab - OMG - was out of this world. Their calamari - done perfectly: light, crispy, and was eaten in seconds! Should've gotten 2 plates of it! This place overall checks ALL the boxes - this restaurant has put "Cody" on the map for me. I anxiously look forward to coming back to Cody because of this place!

Drinks are still awesome, service is still amazing, but gosh did the prices go up from last year. 40% or more, unfortunately, we took a couple that isn't rolling in cash and we felt super bad. We decided to pay for all of us, since we all got hit by sticker shock. I totally understand inflation, the need to pay better wages, if this would have gone up 10-20% I'd understand, but that's big city prices. I unfortunately have to call it out, otherwise, people with a smaller budget hoping to get nice value again might be stuck with a much larger bill than anticipated -like us. Steak dinners are still great here, service is still amazing... but not sure if we would come back again.

As I sipped my beer, I watched Jessica host one of her Sip and Paint get together. Everyone there seemed to be having a great time - lots of laughter, lots of smiles, and lots of happy people. Afterwards, I spoke to Jessica and said that I would love to try this but that I was a "can't draw a stick man" level artist. I also said that I was impressed with how well everyone's paintings seemed to have turned out. Jessica encouraged me to attend if I had the chance (I am in Cody on vacation for a couple weeks, so I did indeed have the opportunity), and that I just might surprise myself. So, despite my reticence, I made reservations for a family member and myself for the following week. When we arrived, the space was all ready to go. Tables, chairs, tabletop easels, paint brushes, a cup of water (these are water based acrylics), and a tray of all of the needed paints to complete our American masterpieces. Although the night's basic idea was an American flag based sunset with a Buffalo, We were encouraged to use our artistic creativity and to "paint whatever you feel - express yourself." I stuck with the Buffalo. Jessica patiently takes you through the steps of the painting with the brushes to use, the paints used for each step, the blending, and the brush techniques to use to get the different effects. She uses a headset and sound system so she is easily heard by all. My big fear was creating the Buffalo. I was afraid it would look like anything but a Buffalo. Who'd of thought that with just a couple of circles, an oval, and some basic angles, you can build one. We were given excellent and well-paces step by step directions and suggestions as we painted. While there is a finished example prominently displayed elevated up front, Jessica also (effortlessly it seemed) created one as she demonstrated the step. By the time it was done, there were big Buffalos, small Buffalos, flying and levitating Buffalos, branded Buffalos, and skies filled with stars and moons and comets. Just like the week before, our two hours were filled with laughter, smiles, and a lot of people surprised at how well their paintings turned out. And believe me, no one was more surprised than me. What a fun time - a great beer, a chance to meet new new people, an encouraging and charming instructor, and a result that was 100 times better than I had expected. If you get the chance, do yourself a favor and go. I guarantee you will love this.

No matter how long your stay, Cody Shuttle takes care of the details, offering convenient pickup and drop-off at your campground's site. The day we spent with Cody Shuttle, especially our guide Heather, exceeded all our expectations. We set our sights on encountering wildlife and exploring the park, especially the northern part of Yellowstone, having already visited popular spots like Old Faithful. Before we even reached Yellowstone, we marveled at the picturesque landscapes and visited two quaint Montana towns, Cooke City and Silver Gate. We even entered the park via the less-traveled Northeast entrance. Heather was a fountain of knowledge, pointing out wildlife, identifying bird calls, explaining geological features, and offering insights about local plant species. We knew we were in for a treat when we saw a majestic bull moose, its massive antlers on full display. Heather had binoculars and a scope on hand, enabling us to appreciate the wildlife in incredible detail. As we journeyed through Lamar Valley -- the "American Serengeti" -- Heather was always the first to spot the Bison. We saw a vast herd of these "American Buffalo" and their calves often referred to as "red dogs" due to their color, roaming as far as the eye could see. Pronghorn Antelopes were also seen mingling with the herd, a sight that was a poignant reminder of nature hundreds of years ago! Throughout the day, we saw more of Yellowstone's wildlife -- Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, and Elk, often with their young. We enjoyed a fresh and tasty deli lunch at a hotel in Mammoth Springs, a historic district formerly known as "Fort Yellowstone." Heather shared the evolving story of Mammoth Springs. We ended the day with not one, but two Black Bear sightings at different points. We even joked with Heather about arranging a Grizzly Bear appearance, and as we drove on Sylvan Pass towards the East Entrance, there it was, a massive Grizzly Bear! It seemed like every wildlife sighting was perfectly timed, although we know it was pure luck. But we'd like to think that Heather was our lucky charm! By the way, Cathy and Alvin, the owners of Cody Shuttle, are truly dedicated to their service. We met them during our tour; they were exploring the park on a holiday, looking for ways to enhance their tour plans.
