Suwanee Food Truck Friday - My prepared salad.  You must first eat the salad, (to assuage guilt), then sample the trucks.  I always pack something healthy just in case!

FOOD- YES, MUSIC- NOT SO MUCH!…read more Last summer, I spent my Fridays at the Duluth Food Truck events and this summer I wanted to give Suwanee a try. The Suwanee food trucks arrive by 5:30 but the music does not start until 7pm. If you are not familiar with the two venues here is what we have observed: Duluth is a larger community and therefore has a much larger venue. Duluth previously lacked a variety of restaurants (that is now being remedied), while Suwanee has several restaurants with the option of dining on one of their cute outdoor patios. Both venues are very nice and well managed. However, Duluth has more trees, a playground area, a fountain for the kids and a lot of trees to provide shade. The Duluth crowd is more energetic and is fully engaged in the music while the Suwanee crowd was a bit more subdued and seemed to use the music as background entertainment. There were several food trucks and a great crowd tonight. The weather was perfect and it was nice to just be out and relaxing. We really enjoyed the Top 40 music that played prior to the musicians taking the stage. However once the musicians took the stage, the energy drastically changed because the music they played was more appropriate for ages 70 and up, (Harry Belafonte, Otis Redding tunes). The theme was "Beach Party" so I expected more upbeat music. We were terribly bored and ended up leaving just prior to 8pm. I would definitely return to Food Truck Fridays in Suwanee but I would research the band prior to attending because I like a very energetic band that makes me want to move. I would also make sure that it is not too sunny and warm due to the limited amount of shade. Although I prepared my own dinner, I did sample a couple of the food trucks and the food was delicious, (hot and fresh). This is a really nice community activity so if you decide to come, you will want to arrive early for prime parking and a choice sitting location. Although you can sit on the ground, I believe in chairs and a portable table to keep my food clean and bug free.

Suwanee Food Truck Friday - Get here early to avoid the crowd, get your food and get settled prior to the music starting. The lobster truck is always busiest.
