Amazing Customer Experience to match their Amazing Food! If you are in need of a food truck for your event, look no further! We were having a huge outdoor party for my husband's 50th birthday and we had invited over 100 people and we really wanted a food truck where not only the adults would love the food but also not too eccentric where it could please the kids too. I spent a lot of time throughout a week scouring the internet for a food truck that I felt could fit our needs. I found the menus for private parties too restricting and it was starting to feel I wouldn't be able to find the kind of menu I wanted. A friend of mine whose neighborhood has a lot of block parties and hires food trucks often suggested Soul Truckin Good. She said that out of all the trucks, that was the most raved about and pleased the masses. I had called a few already and felt discouraged with the limited menu for private parties. I might have liked this and that but maybe they couldn't do this and that together. I felt a little like Goldilocks and the Three Bears trying to find a menu I felt excited about. With the party being combined with our annual St. Patty's Day party I knew the drinks would be flowing and I wanted to make sure the food was yummy, hearty and filling for a one time guest visit to the truck. So I called Soul Truckin Good, and Jei answered the phone. She has the perfect amount of professionalism, kindness AND understanding when talking things over. The way she described the menu was very easy to understand and I felt like we had great main dish and side dish choices to work with. There was one additional side I wanted even though it ventured outside of the A, B, C type of menu. She wanted to make sure we were happy and she was happy to work with me to make sure we had the menu we wanted. By the end of the process, I felt like I was talking to my friend rather than a stranger. The party was growing by the day. And she talked me through everything regarding the number of people and how much to order, like a pro. Sometimes I felt like she was my therapist, lol, because of the concern I had with making sure everyone would get fed. When you have an Evite for a big party and even if you set a deadline for RSVPs, you will always have those friends that say, oh I forgot...is it too late? Or I know I initially said it was just 2 of us but now it will be all 5, yada yada yada. So we came up with a plan that I felt comfortable with. And not to forget about the food or the guest happiness- the day of the party gets here and the food truck was a huge success. Everyone loved the food. Everything went smoothly, truck was here on-time (even early). They make sure to plan with time cushions to get to their commitments with plenty of time. And there was a line at the end as our time was coming to a close and they stayed until the last person received their order. Can't assume that will always be the case but I was their last commitment that day. Just goes to show they care about the experience and not just the dollar. I don't think there are a lot of business owners out there that care as much about making your experience the best it can be. But I can say without a doubt that Soul Truckin Good is one of them! read more

I ordered the Jerk Chicken Breast with their triple mac and cheese. I really didn't like the chicken at all. I thought it would be a whole chicken breast with the bone-in, but it's actually like a boneless, skinless slab of chicken breast with grill marks. It was EXTREMELY dry to the point that I couldn't even finish eating it. The seasoning also tasted just like a generic jerk seasoning you buy at the grocery store. I was really disappointed. This was not authentic jerk chicken. Also, the sizing of the chicken was inconsistent. My chicken was gigantic and almost an inch thick while someone else's chicken was extremely thin. Super late post about this restaurant and my apology for that..life happens. I discovered them at the Yelp Luau event and by far they were THE BEST vendor at the event. They debuted their ribs, smoked shrimp, and macaroni & cheese and my GAWD it made me drop to my knees it was so good! I'm not even a mac & cheese chick, but I would have this and the shrimp as my last dinner request before I depart this place. YES, it was that good and I'm not even exaggerating. I don't know how their food is priced because I experienced it for free at the event, but I don't care I would pay for it because it's just so hard to find companies that can really cook. They set up at Sweet Acres Farm Winery today, and we're calling and texting to introduce more people to their food. Started with the ribs, which were meaty, Smokey, and perfectly done. We hit the jackpot with Soul Truckin Good! After reading reviews of various caterers in our area, we decided to give Soul Truckin a try, and we could not have made a better choice. We ordered the pulled pork and chicken, Mac-n-cheese, green beans, and potato salad. It's rare to find a place that can do main courses and sides well and both were exceptional! The only reason some people didn't rave about the meats was because they were too busy complimenting the delicious potato salad and tasty mac-n-cheese. Let me start off an say I apologize for the run-on sentences, I'm going to try and make this quick. Soul Truckin Good catered our holiday Christmas luncheon for work last year(I KNOW I'm super late with a review but someone was speaking to me about them recently and reminded me to post). We had a committee last year so we really didn't get to vote as a department who we wanted to cater. Well, all I can say is I wish we did have a vote. (Normally we chose Jim N' Nicks) The food that Soul Truckin Good provided was horrible. All the meat was literally brunt and not in a good way. We only could choose one side and one meat. When I tell you the side option portions were for a child sitting at a kiddie table and the meat was(chicken breast,hamburger, another option I cant remember) was so tiny I could barely see it. I mean when you're going to a work luncheon and I've been to plenty your plate is not full to the point where its over flowing but you do at least get an adult size plate. If I'm being completely honest our entire department was disappointed and if someone says otherwise I guarantee it was higher mgmt (mangers, director etc.) being polite because honestly they didn't even eat. Our holiday parties are what we look forward to and each department throws their own party from décor to catering. After working hard all year and being able to celebrate the accomplishments of each department along with the company as a whole is something we really look forward to celebrating with good vibes, good music and good food. Also what made it worse was the women serving the food, one in particular had a very bad attitude. There was a younger guy there serving he was nice, he was at the beginning of the line. In my mind I'm like its Christmas time, you have a catering gig and you get to actually do what you love (that's if they really love what they do because those ladies attitudes didn't show it, there were two ladies and a younger guy I remember serving the food) like why wouldn't you be happy? I definitely know we plan on taking a vote this year and they wont even be considered. If this post seems harsh I'm not sorry because its the truth. I'm actually giving the shorter version of my/our experience. Other co-workers said they would leave a review, idk if they did or forgot like myself. However Christmas is coming up and so is the planning of our holiday luncheon and this year we have to really makeup for what we experienced last year. I love supporting small businesses, but the people who came to represent for Soul Truckin Good really put a bad taste in peoples mouths. Not to mention they come out to food truck Friday's sometimes in our parking lot or break room at work and the rude experience and over priced truck food is not worth it. I liked the ribs a lot, the flavor and tenderness on the rib tips and the three bone ribs were great. I'm super upset with the sides though, I read a review that their mango rice wasn't cooked thoroughly, but I decided to try it anyway and to be honest it was horrible. Had it been cooked all the way through, this rice would have had a great taste and I would have even ordered it again. I wanted that nice fluffy rice and instead I got raw grains of rice . The mac and cheese was great. The portions could have been bigger but it was okay, I still feel like I got my money's worth. The BBQ sauce tastes great! Just please fix that rice. Rock'n Ribville, Lawrenceville -- We walked around twice to determine which truck best peaked our barbecue taste buds. We decided to stop where there appeared to be organization, eager patrons, and we could see our meat coming off the grill. We didn't mind paying $8 for the pulled pork sandwich, until I noticed that the portions of others were way more than ours for the same price. Then, we waited more than 10 minutes for an order of $8 ribs, and the order taker alerted someone to this fact. She then handed us 3 very small and short bones of ribs and we were tempted to ask for a refund or switch to another pull pork order. But my moms said, "no, let's just go!" When we got them home, having picked up sides to go with our meal, the ribs were too tough to bite into, so my mother baked them for a few minutes; still tough, she cut them apart to see if she could chew them in small bites; to no avail, and there went $8 for a serving of 3 very small and short ribs. Our total price for patronizing Soul Truckin Good was over $16. We were very disappointed in the ribs, but found some comfort in the pulled pork, and was satisfied with its additional portion. I unfortunately didn't try the food so this is from experience of trying to book for an event. I called to inquire and I explained I would need to submit the proposal to a board for approval. Once approved, someone would be in contact to pay. I sent a text letting the owner know it had been approved and to expect payment. I don't recall having a conversation regarding the date being booked (though the owner said the conversation took place). The person over finances tried to pay online a week and a half from my last contact point but there was an issue. She called and they returned her call on Easter Sunday morning only to say they were already booked. The owner called me at 8:00pm on Easter night to explain and offer a substitute. I understand if they haven't received payment you're not officially booked but at least let the potential client know prior to an attempt to pay.
