The gym has an excellent inventory of free weights, machines, and a functional training area. We picked up a three-day pass for $35, which was a great value for visitors. This is exactly the kind of locally owned gym we love supporting when traveling. Luckily I found Fitness On Broughton! I called in and the gentleman explained how the pass worked. He was very clear and patient. When I arrived, I filled out a waiver online and paid the $25 fee for a 1 day (24 hours) pass. They've got lots of cardio (rowers, bikes, treadmills, etc.) equipment as well as free weights (dumbbells, olympic rack, and various bars) and machines. In addition, there's a room where various classes are taught. I might have been interested in a class but my timing didn't work out. Overall it was a great experience so Fitness On Broughton could probably meet all of your workout needs.

After reviewing bank statements, I noticed charges and reached out to have the matter resolved. Instead of the club resolving the matter promptly, the staff has disconnected several phone calls while "reviewing my account", provided no follow up, and have been extremely rude. I decided to go directly to the gym and speak with the General Manager, Arnika Brown who claimed to have been attending a conference call. Upon our arrival, the front desk staff offered my husband and I a seat and we politely declined, understanding that there would be a wait. As we chatted amongst ourselves, the front desk staff called me to the desk stating that Arnika wanted to speak with me, (mind you she is in a "conference"). When I said hello, Arnika immediately demanded that we took a seat as she is dealing with business tasks and would assist me soon. Again, I politely declined and stated we would patiently wait. Arnika became hostile requesting that we leave the premises, instructing the front desk staff to contact local law enforcement. To avoid becoming more frustrated and more delays, we simply left the facility. The way we were treated as local business owners and leaders in our community left a sour taste in our mouth and we encourage everyone to gym elsewhere to avoid the poor quality of people operating this facility. Understanding policy and law, we have done everything within our power to resolve the issue and have not been met with the same level of professionalism or respect. Kudo's to the assistant general manager, Kayla who seems to have the emotional and professional capacity to be the general manager. In my opinion, the staff should be replaced immediately and their should be more support to address these matters.

The instructors are all so lovely and knowledgeable about what they teach. They go out of their way to encourage you and correct you so you're getting the best workout in. They go out of their way to learn people's names and make you feel at home when you walk in the door. I like the open vibe and there's no judgement--everyone is here to have fun and workout! I'm pretty out of shape but I never felt self-conscious about my lack of balance or ability to hold a plank. The classes will whip you into shape! I went consistently for a month and noticed results very quickly. If you need to get into shape for a wedding or big event, go to barre classes everyday and you will notice that your muscles are toned. It's pretty remarkable how hard a workout can be using nothing but your body weight, and how great you feel after. The only reason why I stopped going here was even though I really enjoyed going to barre classes, I did want to try something new after months of nothing but barre. It's pretty pricey ($200 for unlimited monthly classes, they do run specials sometimes though) compared to the YMCA ($10 a month for a gym AND a wide variety of classes, not just barre). I like to mix-up my workouts. I know the business model is a nothing-but-barre studio, but variety is the spice of life!
