I have lived in New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, and now Georgia. I am super impressed with the Planet Fitness on Ogeeche road. The facility is always being cleaned, the bathroom is always clean unlike other PF. The staff there which consists of Kota, Jakarie Jamie and a few others I can't remember their names. Not because they did not make a positive impression but my memory is not great. They always make you feel at home, ask how your work out was and how you're doing. I have used Planet Fitness in different states and in varying capacities. However this experience was very unusual. I cancelled my membership June 2025. After reviewing bank statements, I noticed charges and reached out to have the matter resolved. Instead of the club resolving the matter promptly, the staff has disconnected several phone calls while "reviewing my account", provided no follow up, and have been extremely rude. I decided to go directly to the gym and speak with the General Manager, Arnika Brown who claimed to have been attending a conference call. Upon our arrival, the front desk staff offered my husband and I a seat and we politely declined, understanding that there would be a wait. As we chatted amongst ourselves, the front desk staff called me to the desk stating that Arnika wanted to speak with me, (mind you she is in a "conference"). When I said hello, Arnika immediately demanded that we took a seat as she is dealing with business tasks and would assist me soon. Again, I politely declined and stated we would patiently wait. Arnika became hostile requesting that we leave the premises, instructing the front desk staff to contact local law enforcement. To avoid becoming more frustrated and more delays, we simply left the facility. The way we were treated as local business owners and leaders in our community left a sour taste in our mouth and we encourage everyone to gym elsewhere to avoid the poor quality of people operating this facility. Understanding policy and law, we have done everything within our power to resolve the issue and have not been met with the same level of professionalism or respect. Kudo's to the assistant general manager, Kayla who seems to have the emotional and professional capacity to be the general manager. In my opinion, the staff should be replaced immediately and their should be more support to address these matters. read more

Front desk is absolutely unprofessional. When I came to sign up for a membership the girl points to the couch and says "go sit there and do it". I could stay on my couch for that one! Whenever you come in or leave the front desk scowls at you and doesn't say welcome or have a good day. Maybe fire them. read more

I enjoy the convenience of this location! I'm not a fitness guru so I can't say that the facility will meet the needs of a fitness guru, but it has the essentials for a workout for someone that's a beginner like me. I will admit that sometimes its hard to get to certain machines as there are limited amount of them and tend to always be full. Staff is limited but they are attentive from what I've seen. Some days and times are busier than others, but I've never felt overwhelmed. Overall, I'd recommended checking it out and seeing what works! Hydro-beds and Massage chairs are a plus if you have time! read more

Does not allow semi truck parking (bobtails) included . I even told the undercover cop that was driving a red drop top mustang . " Hey , I just want to work out " . He said "your truck will be towed " . A lot of semi truck driver get treated like trash just disregard our health right ? like come on , that parking lot was big enough to share with out us ( truck drivers ) there would be "NO planet fitness ". I understand you have bad apples but for the good ones that just want to live longevity and not catch a heart attack at these truck stops. One of the worst planets I've been to (including the fun Miami trip where I found broken razor blades scattered all over the tanning room floor-that remained there for days despite informing staff) Hours are already terrible (why are you closing at 7pm on the weekends??) and on top of that they will sporadically change them at their leisure to close an hour earlier. No one ever answers the phone, so you can't call to ask if this is an early close day. Have shown up at 5:30 to be too late to work out for what should be a 7pm close because they decide to close at 6. They just shut off the lights 10 mins before close. So if you're in the locker room good luck to you. Hope your phone is close by for the flashlight. The equipment in the back (tanning, body enhancement, massage) is consistently broken. I've had to put on my clothes again to go back out for a new bed just to go back and get all undressed again and repeat. Plus there's just junk back there? Old speakers and tech littering the floors. The body enhancement is one of the older models that's difficult to work and if you ask for help they don't even know how to use it. Then it'll shut off in the middle of your program. I'd literally risk broken razor littered floors to this place. If it was the only gym in the area I'd cancel immediately. The southern sav one is good tho and east is decent too. read more

Place is gross, the staff doesn't wipe down anything at all! I went into total body enhancement, I wiped down the entire machine before entering but when I came out the bottom of my socks were black. The restrooms are always in a disarray. The representatives don't really help you at all, not very talkative, kinda rude. The place is gross and the people working there are just rude. read more

This is by far the best Planet Fitness in the area not because of its location but because they've got newer equipment then the other one. If you're looking for a change of pace or just want to be able to use newer equipment then this location is definitely worth the 15 minutes or so extra drive. read more

I joined this place is definitely not worth the contract. The only time you can get the Bench Press is the weekend at 2pm or after 10pm at night on a weekend since they let members use the benchs for 1+hours at a time instead of sharing. Other members are inconsiderate. I was on the elliptical one day where I had to listen to a guy facetime his family for an hour while he had sports center on so loud that I could hear him over my head phones. (Dunno how he got the speakers to work on the tv) The 30 minute and 12 minute rooms are 100% abused so if you want to follow the red light and green light system you can't. And since they let all the riff raff join for $10 no one cares for the equipment and only the regulars whip it down. Atleast once every visit I have to clean one machine before I use it cause someone left it covered in sweat. And I have gotten a rashes now twice in three months. Lastly they don't honor their own offers and don't return your phone calls after you flag them on it. I talked to the Home gym, while the same groups hogged the benches I was told they will monitor it..... yeah right I am here now. There is no management in the store..... read more

I am traveling and sometimes I need a shower. The first toilet I used it flushed the next time (sameday) I used it, it didn't flush and it had a ring and above the water leavel was nasty. The light where I took my shower was dum and when I finished it made a noise then it was bright. This is the dirtiest planet fitness I have been in. I was scared of catching something. I really enjoyed the layout of this location so I want to give it 5 stars. But, 10 minutes before closing they turned off all of the lights and sounded the lunk alarm to kick everyone out. I was in the locker room and I could not see anything. I definitely felt unsafe, I will not come back around closing time again that's for sure. read more

I have been a "member" for going on 3 years and only worked out at planet fitness maybe 4 times within those three years. Honestly, I forgot about my membership until recently during a pandemic when money is tight and I realized I was still being charged for a service I haven't used in years! This is a GYM membership, not a loan, a mortgage or some other financial obligation linked to your credit score. Why do I have to either go to the home gym location or send in a certified letter to cancel a freaking GYM membership? I can cancel cable, cell phone service, and credit cards either via phone or internet but NOT a freaking gym membership? Save yourself the aggravation and your sanity! Do NOT join ANY planet fitness! It isn't worth the hassle you have to go through if you were to ever decide to cancel. read more

i really enjoy this space. all the machines are fairly placed apart so you don't feel on top of each other. the staff is friendly and create a cool, nonjudgmental atmosphere. the only issue i've ever had here is with other members, likes not wiping machines down or not reracking weights, but it's a gym there's gonna be some aholes. this is the best planet fitness in savannah read more

The layout of this gym is terrible, crammed yet sporadic at the same time. The equipment was so old and nothing was greased well. Couldn't do any leg presses without my machine stopping by itself every foot. The bikes were wobbly. The Savannah location is 1000x better. read more

This is the 56th different Planet Fitness I have been on this year. Many have had issues with staff, environment, cleanliness or the working order of things. This gym has a truly wonderful staff. Everyone is enthusiastic, helpful and professional. The bathroom, men's lockerroom, is neat. The entire gym clean. The music is being played a tad loud but its a quiet gym so it seems louder than it may be. Some of the t.v.s on the cardio equipment needs repair but that is to be expected. As nice as the individual t.v.s are they have no roi because of the higher than normal expected repairs; I'd get rid of them. When a value add is a value bad it's time to change course . read more

They don't have the hydromassage lounge beds, they have a flat bed one but it isn't in a private area. You also have to register for your time which is weird and it's the most uncomfortable hydromassage bed I have ever been on .. I don't understand what is going on there .. they do NOT have a filtered water fountain to fill up your water bottle which is one of the most annoying thing ever! The women's bathroom usually needs attention as well. I love Planet Fitness in terms of a gym but really wish they would take more pride in their gym, I feel like in the last 6-8 months it has gone downhill. I'm all about planet fitness and the cheap gym membership but this place is the worst. Before I moved to Savannah I belonged to a different planet fitness where the manager took pride in his work and took care of his gym. I wasn't expecting the same level of care at this location but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. There are constantly broken machines, there are never paper towels in the machine, and the place is filthy. The manager while I'm there rather than cleaning the gym, refilling paper towels, putting in work orders, etc. likes to shoot hoops on his nerf hoop, sit on his phone, watch tv, and lift weights. I also had some issues with my black membership while away and I dealt with multiple employees over the phone who were entirely unhelpful. Go to a different planet fitness in Savannah or another gym, this place is a joke. read more

So, this is most of the information I have captured from this Planet fitness location over the past month. The dumbbells go up to 75 pounds with two sets of each. There are 6-8 inclining benches, 4 of which are in Smith machines. There are tons of tread mills. There are 6 step mill machines. 3 locations to which you can perform cable exercises with both hands simultaneously (6 individuals). Of course they use the general cybex/ life fitness machines. The facility is HUGE. they have hydro massage and massage chairs. I believe 3 hydro and 5 or 6 chairs. There are 3 rooms in the back that have different abs, legs or similar machines. There are chest, legs, shoulder and arm machines (maybe one or two of each) in the middle of the facility and disinfecting location throughout. The staff is awesome. It is crowded even during the AM hours. The bathroom facilities are amazing (from the men's perspective) The showers, although large, only have flimsy curtains. There are many lockers: half, full and the small ones you put shoes and items in. There are even tvs above the urinals. Reflective surfaces on the main walls of the gym. There are no other free weights besides the dumbbells. I am a frequent gym goer and I go to two gyms. I would recommend this for the beginner to intermediate gym goer. If you are looking at hardcore lifting, I would go elsewhere as there are no free barbells. There is a machine that allows you to use ropes and has other different stations on it to do an abundant amount of different exercises (pretty cool!). My main concern with this location is that there are about 7 equipment stations at the moment that are "nonfunctional" and they still have not been fixed in about a month. I give this place a 3 because even though many people do go to this location and it is irritating to not be able to use certain machines after so long. The staff and the building is nice. Also, it is close to my home and essentially cheaper than any other gym in Savannah that is 24 hours. Update: they added an opaque curtain to the showers and had a complaint recently about the closing of the bathroom by the cleaning staff. They responded the next day quickly and fixed the error. This is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. It is large so you have your own space yet small enough where you can move around easily! I've belonged to 3 planet fitness locations in the last 5 years and this one take the cake. I go first thing in the morning at 530 am and the crowd is a perfect size. If you go at 530 pm obviously the story will be different and it is much more busy! The staff is very friendly for the most part, with the exception of one male who is a slight space cadet and takes 10 minutes to realize you are waiting at the front desk.... But you'll find those people everywhere. Recently I went to a planet fitness in Miami and it made me realize how clean the Savannah location really is! It's the first place I've trusted gym showers( with sandals obviously). Can't beat the 10 bucks a month and the 24/7 schedule. BUT two things I miss : -bosu balls -normal squat rack( they only have smith machine) read more

I've been a member of several gyms in the past 10+ years and this has to be the best for my needs. I'm still losing weight through diet and exercise and this place has everything I could need. There's tons of cardio machines and have never had to wait. They have a good selection of weight machines and free weights, those aren't where I'm at yet so I haven't used them. The circuit rooms are great!! It's always been clean no matter what time I've been there. There's plenty of lockers in the women's locker room! I have a black card so I get access to the hydro massage tables, tanning and such. I've not used the tanning beds as I don't tan anymore but they look to be top notch. I fell in love with the hydro massage tables and those are a wonderful reward after a good cardio burn!!! This place is the devil. You can't ever escape. Charges everywhere. Canceling a plan with them is the biggest hassle. I've moved and tried mailing my old gym to cancel as per the website and nothing has happened. I'm still getting charged. Like, I have bills to pay. I need to be able to eat. They don't care. I transferred my membership from a planet fitness in another state to this one after a military move. It was the nicest pf I had been to and by far the cleanest. The staff and their customer service were exceptional, but that was back when it ranked the #2 pf in the country. Now, under the current manager, it will never be what it was. Breanna ran off all the employees that kept the place clean and inviting. People don't quit jobs, they quit bosses. I've watched the manager be rude to what's left of the employees and members. She yells at members from behind the counter as though purposely trying to bring attention to matters that do not require such drama. If she is not yelling or standing uselessly behind the counter, while what's left of her staff are running their legs off, putting out her "fires", she is smoking in front of the gym. I moved down to the area about two years ago and after using an amazing gym in my hometown I decided to try out planet fitness down here. I have been to a few other locations as a "guest" in the past and enjoyed it. This location however, I was unimpressed by. The staff is not very friendly and talk amongst themselves as you, the guest, come in and out. They don't follow the rules THEY enforce about mask wearing or social distancing. Plus the last time I was there a cockroach looking bug crawled out of the bike I was on! The staff member was just as disgusted as I was but didn't really do anything or say she would tell her superiors. Not sure if that problem was solved. Speaking from the viewpoint of an out-of-towner, I've visited this gym at least twice now, and both times had a great experience. I'm able to use the gym since I have the membership that allows me to gain access to multiple locations for one fee. The gym is clean, spacious, and the staff are friendly. I've had no complaints, and wish this gym was in my hometown so I could visit it more often than the one I go to. read more

Although there were at least two female staff there, they had a male come in to check the girl's locker room. That was not ok.

The gym itself is fantastic, you're not going to beat it. Their billing practices however like a little bit to be desired. Terminated my membership six months ago, and then all the sudden the last month they bill me and refused to refund. They say I didn't terminate my membership till May. But anyway, the gym so if you're not going to be, super clean bathrooms, great equipment. The management team however is a little dishonest when it comes to their billing practices. read more
