Came on a Thursday evening for dinner at the recommendation of the hotel. Upon arriving, it is immediately recognized to be a dive bar. I was all for it. Two of us were quickly seated at a booth. We ordered a couple beers, jack daniels bbq wings, and the Thursday surf and turf dinner meal. The dinner meal came with a soup, salad, or veggie and a potato (for which they had almost 10 options from baked, mashed, and various fries). The wings were a great size but lacked in enough sauce that they almost tasted plain. The steak was ordered medium and came out rare (we were fine with it too). The steak was completely unseasoned, just cooked meat. We ordered Cajun seasoning on the shrimp and pretty sure they, too, were plain with no flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good. I'm so pleasantly surprised! This place was described to me as "a little out of the way dirt lot simple country bar and restaurant". The description was dead on, but they forgot to mention the AMAZING big portions of homemade reasonably priced food. They make their own red sauce,meatballs, and lasagna. I also tried my friend's butter garlic scallops which were phenomenal! A bunch of long haul scenic Harley Davidson bikers were in there trying it too ranting and raving about the amazing wings and burgers up at the bar. I highly recommend this place! We went in Saturday and the place was a little busy. We were seated at a booth and waited a few minutes before the bartender came over and offered to get our drink order while we waited for our server. A few more minutes went by and the bartender came back over and ended up getting our order and waiting on us. She was very kind and attentive. The servers just seemed a little overwhelmed. Our food was great with our steaks cooked perfectly. Next time we will consider just sitting in the bar area as we enjoyed the bartender who waited on us! Stopped in for a quick lunch on Easter Sunday and was pleasantly surprised! They had a special Easter offering with a handful of choices which included Prime Rib, ham dinner, chicken bbq or lasagna. Loved their lasagne! My parents got the ham dinners and my wife got the bbq chicken. Our waitress was nice as well as the manager who checked in on us. Would recommend! read more

My husband and I dined here on 02/17/2024. It snowy and cold out, the fireplaces were roaring and its very cozy and endearing inside. The bar is huge and they have a great menu of specialty cocktails available. For a Saturday night it seemed a little quiet (approximately 6:30 PM) but as we were enjoying our meal we noticed a lot of large parties filtering in. We ordered the calamari and onion petals both were good, the calamari was a little more chewy than I typically like but we ate all of them. My husband ordered the Delmonico - 16 oz hand-cut boneless rib-eye, that came with a house salad, corn and mashed potatoes with gravy (the sides are interchangeable this is just want he chose). I ordered the 8 ounce filet, with the French onion soup, Brussels sprouts and French fries, I also got sautéed pinions and mushrooms on my steak. The French onion soup was really good, the cheese was nicely browned on top. Both of our steaks were a little over cooked, however we decided it was not enough for us to send back. The steaks were ok, nothing note worthy. All of our sides were mediocre at best. The mashed potatoes were blend and not creamy at all even with the added gravy. The Brussels sprouts lacked any seasonings and were soggy. Overall the meal completely missed the mark for us but the staff was friendly and efficient and we loved the interior. Maybe it was an off day. We will definitely be returning in the summer to give it another go! read more

We've visited twice: the first time at a very busy day/hour and the second at a slow time. Friendly, efficient service, wide range of menu items, some with fun names. The food was plentiful and delicious both times. Prices are just right. The cherry on top is the homemade, roll-your-eyes-back dessert selection. I got a recommendation from a local at my hotel regarding a place with good seafood. I'm glad I listen to them! I had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer which were huge. I had the scallops linguine which came with garlic toast. The portion was very generous and I had to get a doggy bag. My server Ashlyn was Great, very friendly and helpful. Location is just outside of town but it's worth the drive. I highly recommend this place and will be eating there the next time I am in town. read more

Been there three time! Once for cocktails and a some live music and the other two times for dinner! It is a great atmosphere. First time we started with a side salad with homemade Parmesan Peppercorn dressing (it was made special for another item). Followed by the Firecracker Logs- they are your traditional Pizza Logs tossed in wing sauce served with blue cheese. Then we had a burger. Delicious!!!! Homemade 1/2 pound patty! There were 6 speciality burgers to chose from and my friend ordered the rodeo. Served with house-made chips or traditional fries. Everything was cooked perfectly! The other time visiting Randy's I ordered the Pulled Pork Quesadilla- pulled pork, cheese and pickles! It was HUGE served with a side of sweet potato fries! Sunday night special was all you can eat spaghetti for $6.95. Includes salad, two (huge) meatballs and garlic bread! It looked and smelled delicious. Also, $2 Blood Marys- hot, medium or mild! The Bloody Mary was good. Monday night they have a wing night starting at 6pm. Check out their other specials (listed on the website) are reasonably priced and the portion size is above average! We decided to try this place for lunch on our fall foliage drive. We will definitely be back. Hope too many good reviews don't make them too crowded. Randy's has a very cozy country ambience--mostly wood, some fieldstone with tables in the dining room and nice cushy booths in the bar area. The rustic lighting and paintings on the walls make it very inviting. Oh, yes, and classic rock at just the right volume, not blasting, so you can carry on a conversation. They have quite an extensive menu, something for everyone. My Philadelphia salad with grilled chicken (with waffle fries!) was delicious, as was my husband's meatloaf special. And they were huge portions; we took home enough for lunch the next day for both of us. You could tell that the proprietors really care. I am guessing that our waitress was one of them. She was very pleasant and accomodating (something that is getting increasingly rare), and checked back with us at just the right intervals. Visited Randy's the Friday before Mothers Day, business was robust, so we thought we'd be in for a treat. Reservation was for 6pm arrived at 5:30 hoping to have a cocktail at the bar, bar was packed but two guests made room for us and we sat down for a long wait to be served (one bartender). After receiving no service at the bar the hostess informed us our table was ready, figuring we stood a better chance ordering a cocktail at the table we reluctantly were lead to our table & was instantly greeted by smiling waitress Hanna. She took our drink orders & quickly returned with my 3/4 filled manhattan that was made with more cherry juice than liquor. Hanna quickly & efficiently returned with a decent cocktail & took our appetizer order along with our dinner order. Soup came quickly & hot, but after two spoonfuls our meal arrived. Mildly upset, we turned to our entrée, only to find it was way over done. ( ordered med rare prime rib) Not again wanting to complain we ate what we could of the meat along with our warm (not hot) potato. Mentioned to Hanna about our disappointment and she too agreed that the meat was in fact overdone & offered us a free dessert, which we declined. This is THE BEST restaurant in the area! They have fantastic food! The bartenders are very friendly as well as the wait staff. Even when they are on rush-hour the waitstaff makes sure to not rush anyone and make sure the food is perfect. Saturday nights is prime rib night, and I am VERY picky when it comes to beef. We went just before dinner hours and it was really quiet and relaxed. I had the lasagna, it was a massive serving. I ended up taking it home and in total had three servings out of it. I've ate at Fireside a handful of times and it's always the same, very slow. I have small children and need service to be moderately fast but they aren't even close and the only reason I still go there is because my grandmother loves it. We were there for 40 min before we even got our drinks! I've even tried calling ahead to order so the food will be there waiting for us when we sit. Nope. It took 20 min to get drinks and 40 min to get our food that I preordered. Over all the food is average. The prime rib, wings and ribs are great! The place is clean and service is friendly. Very rustic looking place and amazing food. They have a different special every day and won't disappoint, no matter what day you go. Their seafood night says they have Salmon and Haddock but they only pick 1 or 2 different kinds of seafood to offer, they do not have all 6 options on that day. This place is an upgrade from Randy's up the River. It actually feels cozy and inviting. My complaint is this. It's a restaurant so they offer steak and other typical foods. The problem is the last 4 times we went, I was told they don't serve mashed potatoes. Seriously?!? You offer steak, french fries, and everything else but not mashed potatoes? About 30 minutes after ordering they come tell us they ran out of what one of our party ordered so he had to order something else. THEN after waiting SEVENTY minutes they tell us they are out of the chicken, which of course was what I had ordered. THEN twenty minutes later, they come tell us no salt potatoes, which several had ordered. THEN those that actually got a meal (rib-eye, that they promised was to die for) was mostly fat. Came here for first time with my parents while visiting. I definitely loved the homey atmosphere! I ordered the rodeo burger and fries. It was a 3 star burger. Definitely good, but a little over cooked. Came well when ordered medium. My mom ordered a steak sub and I tried a piece of the steak. It was tender and full of flavor! This place is definitely a hidden gem though. The service was great and the bar is stocked. I really can't wait to try them out again. I think I would have given 3 1/2 stars if I could for food.
