What a beautiful location Sprague Maple Farms is! It's about 2 1/2 hours from Buffalo but a beautiful drive the whole way. There is a Maple syrup room you can see into and all kinds of wooden carved bears everywhere you look. The service is good and the food is fine. They serve carved turkey dinners all year round so if you get a craving that's a great option. They also serve the Impossible Burger for the vegetarian members of the group. The gift shop is loaded with their homemade Maple treats including syrup of course. There is also a large playground area for the kids to get some of their energy out on. So if you're looking for a fun day trip Sprague's Maple Farm is a good choice. read more

It is very spacious, so it was easy to get a seat even on a busy Saturday morning. Complete with a cozy fireplace, it is clean, well appointed and has an inviting atmosphere. The sound levels can be a bit much, and since it's a family place, you will occasionally be dealing with a screeching/screaming child. But overall, a very nice dining experience. Coffee and water came quickly with a complimentary bread and muffin basket. I ordered a special style eggs benedict with a croissant and melted Swiss cheese under an herbal hollandaise sauce, (instead of an english muffin) and my husband ordered a wonderful homemade turkey barley soup and the hot turkey sandwich entree. Our meal started out with side salad with vinaigrette, dinner rolls, mini muffins and butter. Next came our turkey dinner that included both dark and white meat, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, carrots & cranberry sauce. The portions are extra large & my to go container looked like I didn't touch my meal. Then came dessert and as full as I was I still had to try some. It was warm apple pie that was excellent! Our service was great, water glasses were full & there was a coffee carafe on the table. The waitress came around with decaf coffee and to see if there was anything else someone needed to drink. So I got a filled French toast, but I thought the maple filling was gonna be like maybe an icing or something, but they kicked it on with like 2 pounds of cream cheese. It felt like at least a whole block and a half but their black cow is good which is a root beer float mixed in the service was good and the place was neat. Upon hearing nothing but good things about this place, along with it being mentioned multiple times on the local news for their Maple festival, we decided to take the drive down the check it out. it is a nice scenic drive from Buffalo. Upon getting there, the place was busy but we were seated within 15 minutes. The staff is not very friendly, but they are attentive and get the job done. I ordered the Maple wings, which were delicious! The sauce is amazing and Id put it in my top 3 favorite wing sauces. The wings were not too well cooked. I took the remainder of my wings home, put them in the air fryer, and they were EXCELLENT! I also had an EBC Maple Blueberry beer, which was real good. For dessert, I ordered the Maple Custard, which was very good too. I just wish the wings were cooked thoroughly and more crispy, but that might be a personal preference. Food quality is solid here. Depends who you has as a chef and what they have.. Apparently the turkey liver was done superbly here and the current chicken liver was apparently so so but the presentation was beautiful. Service and staff is friendly. My maple salmon was fine. It was Norwegian according to the menu . I know I tend to like Norwegian salmon from frozen better than Chilean or Faroe Islands and I am surprised I can tell the difference at all from a Lidl store. But outside of that , I cannot tell for certain offhand. Maple was fine but felt a bit overpowering for this entree as a food critic, but as a meal just fine. The fries work well with the maple sauce. You know a restaurant has at least one step of classiness if not more when they have poppy seed as a dressing offering too, lol. read more

Fun restaurant with good food. Lots of parking and huge dining room. They have all day breakfast plus a lunch and dinner menu. Service was on point and friendly. Kids both had breakfast, deep fried French toast and apple cinnamon pancakes. Both very good. We also had a club sandwich with sweet potato fries which was huge! My sandwich was turkey with stuffing and a cranberry horseradish sauce. It was super tasty and filling. Thick slices of turkey with a good stuffing. The cranberry horseradish sauce really brought the sandwich together. Small gift shop with some maple syrup and maple candies made right on site. Outstanding customer service and company. Received the 16 oz. Pure Maple Cream for Christmas. Jar was not opened until February when we wanted to use the product. We had not been told by the giver to put the Maple Cream in the refrigerator upon arrival and, of course, the product was not useable having been unrefrigerated for a couple of months. I called Sprague and found out about the refrigeration instructions. To my amazement, no problem, no question, no you should have, Sprague is replacing the 16 oz. Pure Maple Cream. They did not have to do this under the circumstances. I appreciate customer service such as this and will not hesitate to pass on to the giver who lives near the store to use them again and again. Thank you for caring about your customers. By the way the pancake mixes are delicious and easy to do - I'll let you know about the Maple Cream. read more

We visited Sprague's after being recommended from our son, who is a local, and an employee of a local shop we visited. Upon arrival I was very impressed with the expansive, well maintained property that the restaurant sat on. The restaurant was large with lots of seating and the decor was very cool. By the time we left, almost every table was full. Some of the animal decor was animated, which the kids loved. The menu prices were somewhat better than other restaurants we have visited while in New York. Our entire check was less than $130. We ordered a Delmonico steak and turkey dinner. Both came with a salad, side and vegetable. The hollandaise sauce on the asparagus was delicious. Our table also ordered a side of fruit, spinach artichoke dip, chicken cordon blue sandwich and small turkey Cobb salad. Portion sizes were very filling, but not overwhelming. The table was provided a basket of bread that had bread slices, white dinner rolls and the most delicious maple muffins. We finished dinner by sharing a maple glazed cinnamon roll, plenty big for the five of us to share. The only suggestion I have would be to add a little more seasoning to the steak, but the taste of the meat was very good. I would recommend stopping for a great dinner. read more

We had a very nice server named Kole who went above and beyond with not only our table, but all the ones in their section! Shoutout to you Kole, amazing work! The food was great per usual. I always get the grilled ham and cheese and it never disappoints. I grew up in the area and have known spragues restaurant for forever. We now live in the Washington, DC area and every time we come up we always stop here first and last. Love this place. We drive more than an hour from Chautauqua Lake a few times a year for the oasis of ambiance at Sprague's. It's located outside of Portville, between no where and no where. Beautiful setting and huge well appointed dining room. The wait staff swooshes around the massive dining room in a true precision dance of elevated service delivery. I had the old standby of turkey dinner with all the fixings. The late and locally famous Grandma Sprague on the turkey farm that proceeded the multi decades old restaurant would be proud. Our friends had breakfast with the included enormous tasty maple sausage. My better half went with the Rueben which she raved about. I love the mini maple muffins included in the bread basket. I enjoy coming here at least once a year because they offer gluten free pancakes and waffles. This stop for breakfast was one of the many stops my boyfriend had planned on my birthday excursion. This was my first time visiting during Maple Syrup time. We hiked up to the top of the hill, where there is a cabin, and I was disappointed to finally be able to go inside and no one was there and nothing was happening. We arrived at around 9:30am on a Sunday and there wasn't a wait. We were seated right next to the stuffed animal table, which I was happy about. If you know, you know. I got the two pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon special. What I didn't love, was that the waitress carried the plates so that my food was touching her shirt. I absolutely loathe that. Along with the gift shop and open display of their maple sugaring equipment, the woodworking and rustic decorations are a treat. When we walked in and the line was long however, no fear it moved quickly and we were seated within 15 minutes. Maple drizzled popcorn while we wait how can one complain. We also had time to check out their beautiful gift shop here right in the restaurant. Our server Kole was right on it. With a party of 5 she wasted no time. We started out with the Lobster Bisque. With the generous Lobster pieces, this amazing bisque was pure comfort food in this cold day. It didn't take long to polish that bowl off lol then right into our main dishes. Each dish rolled out in perfect timing. From the Sugar Bush Club Triple Decker to the Maple pancakes, the Chicken Cobb salad and the Hot Turkey sandwich we were all in for a treat. As we suspected, absolutely delicious. Comfort food to the highest standard here. We highly recommend coming out here to the Sprague Maple farm. With plenty of parking, this amazing Farm has it own Turkey Farm, hay rides for the kids to one of the largest maple farms we have ever seen. Every so often, I drive a long way (motorcycle) to have lunch at Sprague's maple farm. The food is good and portions are generous. Not sure how to describe the "destination" feel of the place, but the best way I can describe it would be similar to eating at a large amusement park restaurant. It's a big cavernous space that is very open. In the summer it is very busy, in the winter not as much but it seems much larger than the local community can support. While located close to the middle of nowhere in the southern tier, this delicious destination for breakfast and dinner is a half hour from route 17 via Friendship or Cuba exits. Highly recommend the addictive cinnamon rolls which our table of 4 split as an appetizer. The French toast (with berries or stuffed) were melt in your mouth. Generous portions meant treats for later and though it is an hour's drive for us we will be back again. For people with kids or just looking for exercise after full bellies, there is a trail to a teepee and short hike behind the restaurant. What a beautiful experience! We arrived super late. One hour before closing and they didn't act as if they were closing in just under one hour. Greeted us warmly and sat us immediately. Our waitress was enthusiastic and passionate about what they had to offer. She was very polite, patient, and sweet. I got the stuffed French toast and it was delightful. It was 2 thick cut slices of Texas toast, with a warm creamy maple walnut cream cheese. The maple flavoring wasn't overwhelming.
