Very nice place, had to try out the special which was the rack of lamb with small potatoes and a melody of season vegetables. (Starter house salad). I had the lamb done medium rare. I was not disappointed! A group of us visited our alma mater for a weekend recently, and one of the couples took charge and booked a reservation at this restaurant on a Friday night. It is a very interesting menu, with some traditional fare (lamb, chicken, fish, pasta) along with some Indian spiced items and many specials. The service was excellent and everything was paced extremely well. I've been to places where a large group meal can turn into a 2hr plus marathon but that wasn't the case here. We were able to divide our check easily into 4 even splits with no issue. My food was outstanding. I had a house salad and then a seafood curry that was presented beautifully. It came with rice and pita and the curry was spicy but not overwhelming. Nice lobster chunks were appreciated. Others that drew raves were a rack of lamb that I got to try. The lamb chops were thick but served medium rare, just the way we liked it. There was a cocounut grouper special that several in our party tried and it was a very healthy portion. They both said it was great. I thought the prices were very reasonable considering how everyone had 1-2 drinks. This was a short walk to where we were staying, and while it was a cold night, we were back within minutes. read more

Best lamb I've ever had!!! It was cooked perfect, thick and juicy with a nice sear outside. I'm not big on rice but I actually wanted more rice cos the meat serving was very generous (not complaining tho lol). The chicken kebab was juicy and very tasty as well my children loved it. First, the friendly server brought bread with a fantastic olive oil/balsamic vinegar/asiago cheese dip. Then we shared two exquisite samosas with just the right combination of potatoes, peas, and spices. We couldn't believe our luck. We finished with their bistro salad - mine was without meat and my wife's had grilled salmon. Three really, really skillful dishes with great ingredients in this tiny NY town. To start off this review I wish I could give this place a million stars. I have never been more blown away with the service. Ambiance vibe: When we walked in we were kindly greeted and seated fairly quickly. This place was very clean and fancy feeling. It had a warm and welcoming vibe to it. Service: like I started my review this place was truly the best service I have ever had. My partner and I had an odd run in with another patron who was highly intoxicated. He was very intrusive during our dinner and the staff was able to read our discomfort and took action immediately. We were very comforted by the fact that the entire staff took measures to make us feel so comfortable and assured that we were safe. Besides the staff coming to our rescue we never had an empty glass and our needs were met fully. Food/drink: I absolute loved loved this place! A great variety of food for all people and great drinks! The bartender was able to surprise us with a mango mule, and holy cow was it one of the best drinks I've ever had! I got the salmon with mashed potato's and veggies. I am a salmon snob but I really enjoyed the seasonings and it was cooked to perfection. Great experience. I took my college age son out for the night to get him away from campus for a little R&R. We picked the perfect place to eat, Brothers was excellent. The food selections are quite diverse and wonderfully prepared. From soups, salads and appetizers all the way to the main meal we enjoyed every bite. Curry was awesome, filet with Gorgonzola excellent. Fried mozzarella was really cool. Quite different. And best of all the service was terrific and our waitress was so nice. We will be back. Love this place! If I lived here, I would live in this actually restaurant. The meal was soooo good. I was shocked that it wasn't packed to the brim, but then again, maybe it was because it was the time between Christmas and New Year's. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and felt that the chicken was so tasty and flavorful. My favorite part was the tzatziki (yogurt with cucumbers sauce). It is definitely made on site, because it tasted fresh and the cucumbers were intact. I would absolutely recommend this place...and did I mention they have dessert? I was brought to Brothers Bistro by a friend that swore up and down that they had the best chicken curry ever. When we went my 10 yr old son was with us and upon walking in I was blown away by the beautiful bar and how nice the place was. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I, of course, got the chicken curry and it was REALLY good, it was the perfect amount of spicy and really flavorful, and I was also really impressed with the Tzatziki. Even my sons cheeseburger was top notch. The food came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering and the whole time the waiter was checking in us and just talking to us. I travel to Olean NY for work on a bi weekly basis. I used to go to the Beef N Barrel every time I was in town until one of my co workers recommended that I try Brother's Bistro. Since then I have been 5 times. This restaurant is by far is one of the best I've eaten at in Olean. They have fresh and different specials every day along with a good variety of regular menu items. I've had; steak, filet, chicken, fish, soup, salad, rice. and more. All have been very good. Most recently I had the the Chicken Curry with jasmine rice and pita. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the pita came out warm and soft like it was just cooked. The meal had great flavor despite the fact that I requested the entree be made without any dairy as it is normally prepared. Overall, I will definitely continue to support this locally owned small business and enjoy their wonderful appetizers and entrees. read more

Stunned by our experience. My teenage daughter and I were excited to try this restaurant after so many good reviews. Our other daughter will be starting college here in a few weeks and we had hoped to find a good place for future visits. When we entered the door we noticed what looked like a city permit for electrical work, a huge fan blowing in the front and only one party finished and leaving. I could also see two young kitchen guys at the back in what looked like an elevated kitchen space. The one guy looking right at us took a rag from his pocket and wiped what I can only assume now was sweat from his face. We were a bit reluctant with the restaurant being empty, but thought it maybe it was normal for a Thursday at 7:30. After taking my assigned seat, I looked directly to my left and saw a wide open door that housed a shiny white toilet not eight feet away. At this point we asked the waitress if we could choose another seat since the restaurant was empty. It seemed to require a bit of justification on my part regarding not wanting to see a toilet while eating. My daughter reminded me that the waitress waited for my daughter to carry our waters to the new table instead of offering to do it. We then watched the bartender clean the the storefront windows inside and out for the next fifteen minutes. Again, side work that you might think better saved for daytime. In our new seats now we placed our food order and chatted while waiting. My daughter who is quite small and always cold removed a sweater she was wearing over a thin tank. She remarked how incredibly hot it was and how bad she felt for the staff having to work in this warm restaurant. And here is where it gets interesting. We saw a couple come down a few steps above our new corner table and discovered the restaurant had another room. Our food comes and we mention the heat to the waitress and how bad it must be working in it and inquire if it has been broken long. At this point, she casually mentions that our room has no air but that the other room does. I suggest that the hostess might have seated us upstairs instead knowing that. She replies "Oh, I always seat people there instead" She then never suggests moving us and appears to have little concern that we appear uncomfortable. She returns again and I mention that the food is a ten, but the atmosphere and the heat are ruining what could be a delicious meal. At this point the bartender or maybe he was the manager walks by and I share my story with him and he listens and shakes his head in acknowledgment, but doesn't offer a solution. Now the waitress comes by and clears my finished plate and I refuse her suggestion of dessert. She then ignores the fact that my daughter still has her fork in her hand and fifty percent of her food left and offers her a box. We have raised our children to be polite and gracious to servers, but at this point my daughter just stopped eating. The waitress then drops off the check and disappears. In the meantime kitchen guy and his sweat rag enters the room and proceeds to stand directly in front of us. Giving us another mood enhancing view. Ten minutes go by and no waitress. I then pickup the card I had placed on the table to pay what was about a 58 dollar bill, grabbed 60 dollars out of my bag and marched over to the bar. This is where I told the bartender and the waitress as she entered the room that I had given them more than three chances to provide good customer service, but they FAILED. I am sad that for the first time in my life I tipped horribly. I just can't justify rewarding horrible treatment. read more

Wonderful lunch! Outstanding food and a perfectly attentive waitress. We took our son to Brothers Bistro for a surprise lunch and agreed on outdoor seating (during COVID) even though it was 57 degrees. Our son had the steak panini and side salad which he said was wonderful. My husband had the eggplant panini special. Which he also really enjoyed. Everyone tried my curry sampler! It was very good! The server took the time to explain the traditional way to eat the dish after I explained that it was a little spicier than I expected. The combination of all the ingredients together was incredible! Next time I will order a little extra tzatziki sauce since it really made the dish shine! Our experience was wonderful and we will return! Yep. This place is awesome. When an ethnic fusion restaurant in a small town is the top rated place on Yelp, it would be a crime not to check it out. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a gyro plate which was authentic and well seasoned. It went down well with the local "4 mile" beer that the bar tender suggested. The bar tender turned out to be one of the brothers/owners and cheerfully chatted with me about local breweries, town history, and local sports.
