I just got off the phone with somebody at the rental counter. I'm looking to buy a new firearm and asked if they had them in stock and it was grilled like I was a criminal. I had to run a gauntlet over the phone of questions only to be told that I wouldn't be allowed to come and test or shoot because I would be alone and had not been in the store over a year in over a year. I made it clear that I was looking to purchase an item but wanted to see if they had it at the rental counter first so that I could try it first in a gentleman. I was speaking to ran a litany of items that I would have to pay before I could even get in there to test it out range fees once a year cleaning fees first time fees rent my gun fee pay for my ammo fee, not use my own ammo, etc.. The last time I was in there I had to run my license to buy shotgun shells. Range USA seems to be coming an extension of the ATF and not a retail firearm store. Sad to say I won't be going back there. There are plenty of places out there that I can do this without their hassle. Maybe I should just wait for another name change of the store and I will have a different management philosophy. read more

Stupid Experience at Range USA - Rude Staff, Overpriced Gear, Lowball Trade-Ins I recently had a terrible experience at Range USA and wanted to share my thoughts. From the moment I walked in, I was treated more like a criminal than a customer. I was purchasing a used firearm and was subjected to aggressive, unnecessary questioning about my experience with guns. Then, the manager decided to lecture me about how I "just moved" and shouldn't be buying a firearm so soon after relocating. Since when is moving a red flag for a legal purchase? The whole interaction made me feel like I was doing something wrong, when in reality, I was just trying to follow the proper process. On top of the awful customer service, their prices are a complete rip-off. The same guns and ammo I found at other local shops were 15-25% cheaper elsewhere. And when I tried to trade in a handgun, their offer was insultingly low--almost $100 under basic market value. When I pointed out how unfair their offer was, the employee basically told me to leave. Range USA has overpriced gear, terrible trade-in values, and staff that treat customers with suspicion instead of respect. I won't be going back, and I'd recommend shopping elsewhere for better deals and decent service. Don't waste your money with on Range Usa. like I did. I was a member for one year and wow, disappointed is putting it lightly, place is a joke. read more

Poor communication. Poor customer service. Talked into a membership for the month. Did not tell me it was a reoccurring charge. Paid for three months I did not use. Would not reimburse me for the next month that just started (two days in). I will never be back and I will make it a point to tell my friends. When I got my credit card bill I called the same day. You could have reimbursed me that next month(2 days in). But your team said there was nothing they could do. Nothing you could do? I own a business we would have given back the next month no problem. We stopped here on our way home to PA today around 2pm. This was my first time at a range and my husband and I had 3 minors with us. We are very inexperienced and needed lots of help and the range safety officer made our experience at Range USA absolutely wonderful. He was so kind and patient with us and took the time to assist us and answer all of our questions. I wish I caught his name but I did get a picture of him assisting one of my sons friends and included it below. We had a great time and will definitely be back to visit. They just lost my business fovever and the worse part is that the team at the Lewis Center location are really great and nice people. I found a great Groupon for my fiancé and I to use at this location. So I figured on my day off he and I would come over and try out this shooting range. I have personally been wanting to try out a shooting range for a very long time and haven't mustered up the courage to do it. Well today was the day to finally try it out, and with the Groupon it seemed like a fantastic deal. We went in and the people at the counter were super friendly. And the guy at the counter explained everything to a first timer like me and how everything worked and how to unload to if I had problems with my gun. They had us sign a waiver for our agreement and that we would be safe etc. He then gave us ear muffs and my fiancé eye protection since I had glasses already. Of course our gun, and bullets and let us choose targets to shoot at. I of course sucked at shooting. But I still got some shots in. Fiancé was a pro. It was a lot of fun. Fiancé shot a bigger hand gun and I started with a small 22. Definitely would recommend to people. It's a lot of fun, even for me as a first timer. I was so nervous. But for those not used to it. Beware the bangs of the bullets are so loud. I was so not prepared or even ready for it even with ear muffs. It definitely took time to get used to. read more

About three weeks ago we went to shoot a gun my husband purchased and wanted to learn how to shoot. He rented a larger gun and asked the officer can I shoot it fast and he was like yea, and then he kept showing him how to hold the gun cause he was aiming it too high. This guy was joking with him the whole time. And helping him etc. we were there like two hours. Now today - we go back and he decided he was going to buy a gun, the guy was helping him and he asks a lot of questions cause he just doesn't know and he is learning. The only time the gun ever leaves our house or has bullet is at the range. Then we check in and go to range and he shoots - again a gun he has never shot and the range officer comes over and shows him how to do it, and then for whatever reason he aims too high a lot with the larger guns and he explains to him to make sure he is aiming lower. Then he shot a round and then loaded our gun and it kept jamming and the ranger officer helped him with that. Then I shot two rounds and then on the second round they came in like we had just committed a crime and said that we actually had been denied service and shouldn't have been allowed on the range due to issues from his last visit. I was like what happened? Like no one said anything to him last time at all. They asked him when we left how he liked the guns did he enjoy shooting his first time, sold him a membership etc. I was like why wouldn't someone had said something last time, and why didn't someone say anything when we were here that there was a problem and your range officer was helping him and he asked your officer how to do everything. And who gave him all these warnings you are talking about? Because I was there and much of his shooting I have on video. Ye he rapid fired - but he literally asked the guy, and did he shoot the track yes he did. The range officer is in 90 percent of the video and photos I took because he was in the lane helping him a lot. And if he was doing something wrong isn't your officer supposed to tell him that? Rather than talking about how cool it is - I'm not going to say he was being responsible in that particular moment but he asked - not only did he ask once but he asked about rapid fire on two other guns as well. But it was quite embarrassing the way they handled the situation. Then was like we can't sell you the gun either that you was going to buy etc. you have to leave the store immediately- it was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced. The only thing they were worried about was making us leave immediately- the range officer was basically like I will pack up everything you have you have to leave here immediately and then at the counter all these employees standing around like he was going to grab a gun and start firing - I almost felt like it was racial based because he is not white, and he is middle eastern. Sure his first visit he was excited it was something he has never done before, he asked for help, the guy was there and helped him and then all of a sudden it was flipped like he was a dangerous person. He is far from being a dangerous person, he has never shot a gun, never owned a gun and had went and took the ccw and bought a gun that sat in a case for two years untouched and then in December we were carjacked and our son was in the car they drove off in, and then we have had some cars stolen and sketchy folks that come to our business. So he wanted to learn how to use the gun he had when he came to the range and was able to shoot other guns he was excited. A range is a place you can go to shoot and learn but yet that is not what happened here and the range officer is clearly passing off his own negligence as well to him. It irritates the heck out of me - because he didn't do anything intentionally wrong and he listened to whatever that man told him. Apparently in doing so got him classified as a dangerous person that deserved to be treated like some sort of terrorist threat. It's crazy - and it goes to show how racial profiling is so abused. Because I am quiet sure that it has everything to do with him being middle eastern - and the guy at the shop tried to play it off like it must have gotten lost in the system and the ticket just came up. So the background check they just did on the gun and us checking in for the range didn't trigger any of that? Nothing at all? Then out of nowhere all of sudden some notice popped up? Maybe the issue ticket was backlogged and they just got to it. I don't believe it at all. And even though I had headphones on I heard the range officer say to the new range officer as he was going on break or something not sure that he was going to send him a message over the mic momentarily- then as he exited the range and that was said within about 10-15 mins all of this happened. So again there was no ticket - something was said and nothing at all was ever communicated with us until this moment. The whole situation was just really crazy. read more

To be quite honest, I was not sure what to expect as a novice just getting into shooting/CCW/defense. I expected a few chuckles here and there from experienced gun enthusiasts who could spot my inexperience like it was tattooed on my forehead; since you can't see much below my eyes with my face mask anyway. Thus far, I have been incredibly grateful for for not only the knowledgeable staff but their grace and the dignity extended to me in recognizing that I'm still learning. Not ONE staff member has exhibited any hint of arrogance or amusement at my inexperience. Contrary to my expectation, every staff member with whom I have had the pleasure to work has been friendly, encouraging, engaging, attentive, experienced, and educational. The range officers have been excellent, one of whom even took a few minutes to help me fine-tune my grip and stance to get the best aim and maintain the most control of my firearm. Honestly, my hat is off to these men and women because I appreciate their roles. They will absolutely call you out if they see something that even hints at being unsafe. The store is impeccably clean and organized, it's spacious so you're not forced to be crammed into a tiny area waiting or help. I think the longest I've EVER waited there was maybe 5 minutes -- but maybe that's just because I don't go during prime times -- and that was after allowing another person to go ahead of me because I was still deciding about whether to start a membership. Spoiler alert: I did and it's been worth every penny. To be fair, I have nothing to compare this place to as Shoot Point Blank, Lewis Center is the only range I've visited. But I can say with conviction that other ranges I may visit will have a pretty high standard to live up to in order to even match Shoot Point Blank in Lewis Center. I was invited to friends and family night (8/12/18). The store is open to the public tomorrow (8/13/18). The staff was super friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I love that about this store. From the first person that greeted me as I entered the store to the last person at the register when I turned in my rental, I was treated with respect and was thanked many times for coming in tonight. I was asked by several employees if I had enjoyed my visit. The range lanes are really nice. I really like the extra shelf under the lane table where I can store my range bag. There is lots of ammo and accessories to choose from, along with many firearms to purchase and rent. I heard a little about some classes they will be offering which sound really exciting. Oh! There is also a lunch special from 11:00-1:00 during weekdays for $9, that's a really good deal! read more

Very good gun store and range. First, the store: Prices for new and used firearms are mediocre usually. Occasionally, they run sales that make their prices extremely competitive. Very friendly staff that try to be helpful. High percentage are actually trying NOT to be elitist gun store commandos. Very refreshing as compared to some other local shops. There are some that have very over-confident, low information opinions, but most dont. They truly try to help and be courteous. Most of them. The range: Top flight. Best in central Ohio. Clean, well lit, well patrolled and supervised without being hyper-nanny drill sergeants. Very new-shooter focused while being conversant with seasoned shooters. The lanes are the perfect size. Ventilation and particulate movement away from the line is excellent. Even very smoky ammunition gets quickly moved down range. You can see the cloud get sucked away as you shoot. Highly recommended to all shooters of all skill levels. Lots of little freebies and discounts to get you started cheaply and teach you the basics of shooting and learning about proper range etiquette and safety that is truly family friendly. If you have been turned off by other guns shops and ranges, i recommend you try Point Blank Lewis Center (Columbus North). Its about as good as it gets. I am NOT an employee or owner. Just a lover of shooting and freedom. Its amazing to be on the firing line with Indians, Asians, middle easterners, blacks, whites, women, men, children and everyone else...and no one feels threatened or marginalized. This is how America is supposed to be...and it happens at a shooting range in Columbus! Places like this are proof that guns arent the problem in America. Horrible GM. All of these people except one are super unhelpful and not very knowledgeable , I buy an Ak-47 from them and I went to shoot it and it had FTE issues, so I take it back and they look at it say it's fine no issues.., so I go to blackwing and the gunsmith their stated "my gun is done for and I need to ship it back and get a new one" (the entire bolt area was done for), so I go back to range USA and they told me I need to get the shipping label from the company that makes the gun, I called the company and they say I have to get it from Range USA, so I go back and tell range usa that they have to file the claim, finally get my shipping label and Justin the general manager and Steven the shipping manager both clearly stated that I would get two emails from them one being it being shipped off in the second being it is returned, I never got an email with the tracking number and Justin states that he can't give it to me when Justin clearly stated I would get one and then states "I'm not sure if I can give you the shipping label " So I ask him "why it's private property and I should have access to my tracking number with the gun that I purchased?" Just got the gun back today after 3 weeks. So moral of the story Justin the GM has a monkeys Ballsack for a brain, and was completely rude through the entire process of me being nice and just asking simple questions. I've always had issues with every worker thinking I'm not 18 when I hand them my ID, then allowing me to buy ammo and then not allowed to buy ammo One workers the store managers ( I THINK TYRESE [AFRICAN AMERICAN]) was the only person who was very clam and very helpful through the entire process and said sorry for the issues and was very nice. The only person I would get anything done thru is him. Stopped in yesterday after trying to find something at Vance's and Cabela's. These guys were very impressive! I first called and talked to Stephen (sp?) who was super helpful and actually answered my questions instead of telling me to just come in and look like the two other places mentioned above. I was headed out of town and short on time so this was appreciated. I headed over there and walked in not knowing what to expect. This place is open and bright with a good layout. Everything was displayed nicely and labeled well. Again, not so with the other stores I visited. The gentleman who helped me (sorry, I forgot his name, Matt maybe?) was very nice and not judgmental at all. Sometimes when I walk in to purchase a firearm the associates will automatically dismiss me or act like I'm clueless which was not the case here at all. He helped me find what I was looking for and had all my paperwork done in a matter of minutes plus he was very professional. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but after spending WAY too long at Vance's without resolve, this was a nice surprise! They had a lot more in stock than I expected and I found both pieces I was looking for at one stop. They are not price matching so I did spend about $20 more than I would have elsewhere but honestly I wish I would have had an option to spend that and not waste a few hours of my life at the other stores. I went in during their grand opening just to check it out. Once I saw their prices, I ended up buying several boxes of 9mm as well as some .38 Special ammo and a speed loader for my wife. More recently, I went in to look for a reliable weapon for concealed carry. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions I had. They have guns at the counter that they will rent out so that you can try them before you buy. Jeff, the salesman who helped me, recommended that I try a Taurus G2C. This proved to be a very good choice for me, as it is a great combination of accuracy and affordability. Jeff did not try to sell me a more expensive gun: rather, he encouraged me to try them out in order to make an informed decision. As if that weren't enough, he also gave me a free range pass with the purchase of my firearm. I will definitely be back for my future firearm needs! read more

So let me tell you about my experience with Shoot today. I stopped by the Lewis Center store today because they are having sales. I found a nice looking Sig that was on sale so I asked the sale lady if the makes sale price was the price of the gun and was told yes. The Sig was miss marked as 143.99 from 1599.99 and then was told by the management they would not honor the makes price at this point I got the corporate office involved and after several call and many hours .I was talking about the issue with Corporate.i even offered to pay 1/2 price for the gun and was told that they wouldn't go less than 1200(FYI that is what they pay for the gun) .So I was left with hours of my time and I company that will not honor the tagged price on their firearm I suggest you go to a Finfeatherfur for a better experience. read more

To start it off, I've gone to this range plenty of times and had mixed experiences every time. Some good, some bad. I can usually be met with friendly employees that know what they're talking about and a clean range. Some of the RSOs even ask me what gun I'm shooting when I bring in an old mil-surp. Usually a good range time for the price as well. And now for the bad. Sometimes, the employees will turn away my teenage brother and sometimes even say that there are no waivers or that waivers he's signed on previous trips are invalid despite the fact that I've gone with just my brother and no legal parent or guardian on several occasions. The rules can be very inconsistent. I wish this range could provide me with the previous great experiences but the rules need to be more consistent. read more

Since that day I have purchased 3 firearms from Point Blank and they have all been extremely good deals. The staff is friendly and not portraying themselves to be tactical gods (like found at other ranges). The range is safe and clean and they are motivated to sell the 2A, EDC lifestyle. Accident waiting to happen. Used to be a fun safe place to shoot. However, it appears they hired a lot of inexperienced individuals who can't speak up in the range. I've recently seen shooters carrying their weapons in the range area outside of their shooting lane while the "range officer" appears to pretend they don't see what's going on. I've walked out before the end of my range time because I've felt unsafe. I've been a long time member - but thinking about driving the extra miles to go to Vance's where I feel much safer. read more

I am a novice shooter - I'd shot a handgun a few times at a range and an AR-15 once, and decided it was time to buy a gun for home defense. I decided that a shotgun would be the best choice and decided to go here to purchase one since I had had a good experience shooting here previously. Brandon worked with me and showed me a few options that would work well for me. He took time to answer all of my questions and made sure I knew what I needed to to get a basic home defense shot gun. I very much appreciated that he listened to me and made sure that I was comfortable with the gun before I left. He treated me with respect and I didn't feel intimidated there. I took a CCW class with my wife today. Our instructor took us here at the Grove City, Oh location to shoot. We payed the money and the lanes were empty. Actually the store was quite dead. They said we couldn't do it because it was a conflict of interest because they taught classes. They refunded our money. The funny thing is, they would have never had the opportunity to teach us seeing we had already paid him. Furthermore we only own one hand gun and was in need of another and he convinced us to possibly get 2 more. We didn't know this place existed before our instructor showed us. Instead of welcoming small business and potentially gaining return service from small business and potential new customers interested in guns and all that came with CCW, they turned us away. I haven't had any bad experiences with this company until I went to the Lewis Center location. I stayed away from the line at the door at opening to reduce my interaction with people due to the corona pandemic. I walked up to the door and put on my mask( that covers my nose and mouth only) and the short man holding door tells me I can't have that on due to company policy. So I comply and take it off only to go in there and see some lady with hers on. So I address the issue with that to the person available at the time and she says that someone will talk to her which clearly didn't happened because she still had it on the whole time I was there with no problems. I say that to say this, just be fair to EVERYONE when enforcing rules. I will not go back to that location ever again. It left a bad taste in my mouth after that experience. read more
