However... The port-a-potties are putting off enough smell and methane to kill a small village; the gagging starts in the parking lot. The public which frequents this place think they're all Buffalo Bill in the Wild West. Very few honored the gentleman's code for cease fire when it was called, and at least half were smoking. How about some common courtesy in seriously close quarters? No metal targets, no rapid sequential fire (not even a double pull), no brass collection containers, no brooms, no space-allowance on the free-for-all tables/benches (one smoking old guy pushed my stuff aside to squeeze himself in next to me!), and no basic decency by gun owners. After inhaling more tar and "poo gas" than anyone should be subjected to in a lifetime, and getting burned by hot, flying casings more than once, we finally packed up and left. We won't be back.

For a public shooting facility I was rather disappointed for being in a state park. Hopefully with…read morethe new funding that was approved this place gets a major up grade. I understand it is in a flood zone but it could be a lot better. I'll just travel to Dillion Park Sportmans Center and shoot there.

Trap, skeet, 5-stand, sporting clay…read more This was a super fun morning! We did the 100 sporting clays targets($42). There were 16 stations, 2 had 8 shots and the rest were 6. We did the red course which was mostly in the woods and a few were out in the open. The whole course took about 2.5 hours to complete and it was so much fun. Each station can be operated solo, with a friend or in a group. There was no rush and they even allow a test run of A & B so you can see where the clays are coming from. I can't wait to come back and try the Blue course and the other options they have. The course prices are a really good deal. My only complaint was that there was not enough signage to the clubhouse or on the course itself. We spent a little more time than needed looking for the clubhouse as well as walking around some extra paths unnecessarily. Now that I have been there and done the course it will be much easier to figure it out.

We really had a great time here. They have two sporting clays tracks (an easier one and a hard…read moreone). We did the easier one and had a blast! The price wasn't bad ($42 for 100 clays) and each station you get to see how each launcher is configured. Some stations you shoot six times and, a few you do eight. On the day we went it was gale force winds and in the 40's but loved it still. The wind made some shots impossible but I would go again tomorrow it was so fun. In many ways, it was very similar to pheasant hunting where they release the birds from a center tower. Signage is lacking: finding the clubhouse to 20 minutes and on the course we got lost once. Improving signage would make this five-stars.

I had a firearm I purchased online shipped to these guys because it's the closest FFL to my house. I get in there and I get absolutely grilled about what I purchased, like beyond small talk and gun banter to the point where it felt like an interrogation. Another time I had a guy call my ID fake when I went to shoot at the range? I'm a 30 year old man by the way. Another time I went in to get a gun appraised to possibly sell it to them, apparently only one person is able to do that? I was standing there waiting for a literal hour and a half before I asked for my gun back and left. Just don't really feel welcome here. I've had better experiences at retail gun ranges. I think for new comers to firearms to come here, it would be a very intimidating experience.

He made us shoot with both hands, one hand, and with one hand on our non-dominant hand as well to make sure we were prepared for any situation. Our course ran over for about 30 extra minutes because we had a large class, so be prepared to potentially leave a bit late.
