Hired father and son duo to install my bathtub and plumb faucet with PEX. Provided the install instructions. They were super friendly- however... They installed the faucet upside down, but came back to correct it. They did not shim under the tub nor put cement or felt as Recomended by the manufacturer. Found out later that the overflow plastic mechanism was broken off during install but not mentioned. Tub was scratched on the apron as well as the bathroom door. Tub was not shimmed to the studs, and had to be reattached. Shower head spout was not positioned correctly (recessed too deep) for Sheetrock to go over. Tub spout was 2in higher than per the manufacturer. The work got done with no leaks so far, but the quality for the price is simply not in alignment. I corrected about half of the issues, but they should have knocked off 30-40% of their price as I'm certain they did know they were being rough. I would hire them again despite this review, but they need to be managed with certain types of work to ensure that they are careful and thorough. read more

Jose and his team were very professional. They showed up on time and checked in with me along the way to make sure things were progressing as I wanted them to. Jose did a great job of keeping in touch with me via phone call and text and they were really good about making sure they left the house locked and secure. They did a couple of different jobs for me around the house including installing recessed lighting and installing two completely new windows in a wall that had a very small window. These guys were able to help install an outlet in our garage for our new electric vehicle and then also help with some plumbing issues we had in our master bath. When I initially meant this father and son team, I was so excited. They were friendly, and seemed professional and responsive. I hired them to do several jobs in a rental unit. From the beginning of work there began to be many glitches in our agreements and in the quality of the jobs. One included replace the plumbing in a shower tub combo and I noticed immediately that they had chipped the enamel of the iron tub while doing the job. I had to haggle with them to get them to refinish the tub to cover the chip. I started noticing that the quality of work was not the best and had to repeatedly ask for things that should have been part of the work such as a faulty tub spout that they wanted me to have to go and replace, even though they bought the part new from Home Depot. Then, white putting in a new door and frame on an outside storage room, they nicked a wire in the wall causing an entire circuit of lights and plugs to stop working. They refused to repair the issue and I ended up having to spend several hundred dollars with an electrician to get it fixed. I explained all of this to both the father and son, including pictures of the damaged wire, and they made it very clear that they would have nothing to do with it. The cost ended up not being worth going to small claims court, but I considered it given the bad workmanship. I recommend moving on and finding someone who has references. I learned my lesson. read more

did a good job on the plumbing and a pretty good job on the wall repair. there is one screw that was not set deep enough into the Sheetrock and they painted over it. they also made a pretty sizable mess with the sheet rock dust. they did some mopping in the main areas, but there was still a lot of dust when they left. I hired Jose to replace a bathroom fan and vent it to the outside. All went okay, at least that's what I thought. I'm having insulation work done now, and one of the first things they told me was that the duct from the fan was just lying in the attic. It had been attached to the roof vent with regular duct tape, which I'm told was the wrong way to do it and mastic tape should have been used instead. Since one of my main goals was to vent that fan to the outside I'm revising my original review. read more

I only used him once, but he came the day after I called. I had lost my remote, bought one at Home Depot, got home and realized the receiver in the fan housing had to be changed out. I really struck gold finding these guys. Jose and his team are incredibly responsive, have an extreme range of specialties, and overall provide amazing service at a very competitive price. The Rapalo team helped me with plumbing issues, walling off a section of the house, replacing and painting trim, and mounting various decorations throughout the house. Just when I thought I had checked everything off my list, I discovered a leak coming from my ceiling. I frantically called Rapalo Handyman Services and they were at my house within an hour. They quickly diagnosed the root of the issue, found the source of my leak, and got everything sealed back up. After installing new sheetrock the ceiling is as good as new! Jose lives in my building and I had a pipe burst in my bathroom connected to the toilet. He literally saved the day- knew where to shut off the water and drove to three different Home Depots to find parts to fixe the pipe.. Meanwhile maintenance only takes messages (*you cannot talk to a real person they will call you when they hear your message) and after leaving over 5 messages all with priority/urgent claims after two hours I have not heard back. Jose literally saved my apartment from being completely flooded, and did not ask for anything in return. I asked where he worked / how he knew to fix this and that's how I found him on Yelp.
