Honest dine-in review: enjoyed the smell of fresh bread being made, and the food but could've made for some more accommodative table side manners: 4/5 We all have bad days, I hope that our waitress had a better day once we left her a nicer tip to hopefully give a nicer experience but we started off our stay asking questions about the menu to which maybe she was having a bad day? It was slightly busy so maybe that was it? Don't know but we had a good meal as I'll say this was the only thing stopping the 5 stars here: -Maple bacon donut: 5/5 Get this as the appetizers, they sell out fast! Light, fluffy, and just a perfectly candied bacon with the donut.... Loved this as a e got to sipping our coffee in the morning? -2 eggs, hash-browns, and patty: 5/5 Classic. So it's hard to mess that up. Rich eggs they emulsified perfectly to the ketchup and tobacco, a bakery fresh sour dough that was the real winner with the butter lathered on it and for a price that you can't really beat. Simply just a traditional breakfast done right. Stopped in here on Saturday after my in laws said it was great when they were there the day before. You seat yourself and fortunately there was a table large enough for us. We ordered several traditional breakfasts, and a veggie omelet. The omelet was good, the hash browns even better. Friendly service. They also have an attached bakery. We picked up a dozen donuts and a dozen cookies. The young man behind the counter was great. We'll be back on our next visit. read more

Picked up a last minute cake from here for an anniversary celebration. I arrived a few hours before closing and there was still a wide array cookies, donuts and bread for sale. There was a dining area for sit down meals and it looked like wait staff were available to serve tables. The cake was delicious -- white cake with vanilla frosting. The decoration included a few roses and a delicate inscription on the top. The frosting was a tad too sweet, but I don't know of any frosting I've tried that isn't a tad too sweet! Staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to come back to try some of their other goodies -- apple bread, almond cherry danish and iced donuts with sprinkles. read more

Okay pretty great find- came into Bemidji and discovered this gem of a bakery. The walls are lined with famous locals. Even a poster of Alberto Salazar (one of me favorites) we had donuts, cinnamon rolls and a turnover. My favorite was the eclipse chocolate. We bought ginger cookies for later. I called a few days in advance, and they walked me through the cake sizes and flavors of cake and frosting. The person I spoke with was patient and friendly. Word to the wise, you better get there before 9 or you may have to wait to get a table! It's nice to walk in to a small bakery like this and see so many local families there. In my opinion this is a good sign of things to come. As soon as we all sat down our waitress met us at our table with a plate full of warm, freshly made, cake donuts. Now I am not typically a fan of cake donuts because I find them to be too dry, these were different. Still warm and so fresh, they were delicious. I went with a meat and cheese omelet and it was great, stuffed full of meet and cheese, leaving me as full as I could want to be at 9am. Just on the other side of the wall from the restaurant is the bakery. This is where we found the most heavenly of chocolate cakes, Chocolate Angel Food Cake. So light and fluffy and SOOOO good. For some reason we cut it up and shared it with the rest of the family upon leaving, if I would have been in charge of that part of the packing process, I would have selfishly finished it right then and there! Checked this place out for breakfast while in Bemidji for the week. Many places claim to have "home made" style food, but this place really comes through. The doughnuts, apple turnover, and cheese danish my wife and I shared seemed the closest to a home-made pastry I've bought from a bakery. This is not to say they tasted or had the texture of an amateur baker; they were very tasty. The selection of pastries is large and I had a milk. Not sure if coffee was available.
