Such a friendly staff. Everyone was nice and helpful. I normally drive to frisco but it's nice knowing I can get better service in Denton

A family member of mine visited this facility during 3rd shift (sometime between 2a-3a) this week…read moreand was treated terribly. They went in and was not greeted properly or taken seriously. The male nurse at the check-in desk made him feel as if he didn't belong there because he didn't "look sick." When my family member got to the back, he was given a breathing treatment and was left in the room over 20 minutes after it completed. He also told the healthcare provider that he hadn't eating in over 10 hours and they still proceeded to give him medication that needed to be taken with food. When he got back home, he was vomiting all over the place. When he got his diagnosis, the male nurse (same person who checked him in) was surprised! He shouldn't have judged a book by it's cover. Just because a person doesn't look well does not mean they don't feel well in their body! Again, he was made to feel as if he just wandered in there off the street. We have wonderful insurance (even if we did not, it shouldn't make a difference b/c healthcare providers should treat each person the same). This family member is a college student in his senior year and needed the help and what does he get? Mistreatment and prejudice! I told him to not visit this place again; at least not on the 3rd shift. The people there obviously didn't want to do their jobs! High reviews? How? I'm very concerned for my family member to get care being so far from home while in college. THIS is why I worry because of people like this! Shame on you, "Total" Care.

Michelle gives shots and IVs so painlessly and quickly I wouldn't have known I got them if she hadn't insured I knew all about my care. The doc is also awesome. Came in to see me in less than 5 minutes and obviously possessed a plethora of medical knowledge. This being a delayed reaction, it isn't an easy case to identify and treat. Very happy I came here.

Surepoint ER - Denton…read more My family always comes here for emergency care, and every visit has been an excellent experience. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and caring. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure we're comfortable. We truly appreciate their amazing service and kindness -- definitely the best ER in Denton!

Was initially admitted and discharged after the Dr managed to diagnose me with "gastritis" and offer me Motrin. He failed to mention my pancreatic cyst had doubled in size. When I came back 2 hours later in excruciating pain he told me "I'm not a pharmacist go get your drugs somewhere else" I'm currently admitted across the street at Denton regional with a "horrible case of very obvious acute pancreatitis " The rest of the staff was amazing and the facility is clean. Dr Patel, when he isn't sleeping is not only rude but he's unable to properly treat people with serious sicknesses and accuse you of seeking drugs for an extremely painful injury. The funniest part is he said and I quote "real pain meds are for things like broken bones" I have broken bones, including my tailbone: I would take that over pancreatitis in a heartbeat

I fell and broke my ankle while walking on my college campus last September 2022 and needed surgery…read moreif I ever wanted to walk again. As soon as I arrived to Medical City's ER in Denton I was immediately met with probably the rudest group of staff members I have ever encountered in my entire life. The front desk receptionist (I'd say in her mid 40's to 50's) was extremely rude to me as soon as I walked in. She had an attitude the entire time and acted as if she was mad or annoyed at me for "bothering" her with my injury. The nurse (mid 20's to early 30's with dirty blonde/brown hair) who checked me in/started triage was EVEN RUDER than the front desk lady, which I honestly didn't think was possible. She also acted as if she was annoyed at me coming in and "bothering" her, as if this isn't her job that she went through years of school for and CHOSE to do. I was in severe pain as I had just suffered a very bad break and obviously wasn't able to walk. Before I left the ER, the nurse gave me crutches to use to get around until the day of my surgery the next week. I have never had to use crutches up until then as this was my first time ever breaking a bone. I immediately had trouble using the crutches and lost my balance while trying to walk. The nurse told me to stand up and try to walk with them and then walked away to do something. As soon as I took my first step I immediately lost my balance and fell. The ONLY reason why I didn't fall all the way to the ground was because my boyfriend was able to catch me at the last minute. When this happened the front desk lady turned around and very angrily SCREAMED "YOU NEED TO GET UP AND BE MORE CAREFUL RIGHT NOW!!!". This was pretty much my breaking point with this ER as I OBVIOUSLY was being careful and would not just choose to fall on purpose. It's absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary to SCREAM at a person for not being able to use crutches after just suffering a severe ankle break. The last thing you want to deal when you are at your worst are rude staff members. These 2 women made my experience so miserable that I now refuse to ever go back to Medical City's ER in Denton when it used to be my go to ER for years. If you need to go to an ER I recommend going to a stand alone ER or just any ER other than Medical City's ER in Denton. I have had great experiences with other stand alone ER's located throughout the Denton/Flower Mound area. Despite this, I do want to mention one of the male staff members in particular. He was the X-ray technician (male, probably in his mid 20's to early 30's) and was the best ever. He was so so kind to me and just absolutely wonderful the entire time. He definitely made my shitty experience with the nurse and receptionist a little bit better and just my injury in general.

The Dr comes in yanks my sock off my foot sending me into a crying fit, they took X-rays looked at me and said " just a bad Sprain here is some crutches, ace wrap and you can go " called my workers comp people and they send me to another Dr and my ankle was broken in 2 places.
