I recently landed a position in Brooklyn Heights while living in Eastern Long Island. Needless to say, I had to find an apartment in or around Brooklyn ASAP as the commute was killing me. Through a friend I found a decent space but it needed some paint (owner wouldn't paint but said I could) and there was a broker fee. On top of that there was a co-op board that did not care about my tight move in schedule. At the 11th hour I went online and found some impressive listings on Rapid Realty's website. I submitted my contact information to three agents representing different spaces. Danny Long was the first to respond so I immediately respected his initiative. He had several apartments to show and they were all in my price range and in areas that were convenient to my new job. Two of the spaces were beyond my expectations but one was absolutely perfect. Bigger, cleaner and brighter than I was hoping to get for $1400/month. Additionally I would not have to paint and I would not have to pay a broker fee. Most importantly no co-op board wasting my time. Danny could tell right away that I wanted the place yet took the no pressure approach and told me to sleep on it and to call him in the morning. I appreciated the time to think about it even though I had already made a decision. To make a long story short, I found the perfect place on my first day looking with Rapid, filled out the initial paper work on Saturday and signed the lease on Monday. I couldn't have asked for a more responsive and effective experience from Danny Long and Sylvia Tejeda at the Astoria office. I had to move as soon as possible because my landlord decided to be a dick and not renew my lease and sell the building I was living in so I was referred to Andres Castro from a friend who he helped get a nice place in Jamaica and to be honest I was skeptical to believe that he could move me in within a week but after I told him my needs for a 2 bedroom with a parking space that allows pets and near lynbrook for around $2000/month and the ball was rolling from there. We saw two places that same day and he had informed me of all the information I needed to hold the place for me and I took the first one I loved at such a good price. It was a two bedroom with parking in the back yard that allows pets for $1800. Plus there was no broker fee and Sherita and Sylvia (who are hot might I add) closed my deal that same day. I moved in that weekend and had no more stress all thanks to Rapid. Andres was very informational and always returned my calls in a timely fashion. He's the type of guy you wanna have a beer with, he really knows his stuff and full of wisdom. I even told him about a little business venture I have been thinking about and he has already started looking into space for me and has referred me to a great mortgage banker. I am currently looking to sell my house. I interviewed 3 realtors. After interviewing 3 realtors, I came to the conclusion that Lori Hauser is the Realtor that earned my business. I felt the other 2 realtors were just worried about listing my house and trying to make money off me. It was more or less here's the paperwork, sign it, and we'll start advertising. Lori took the time to ask me why I was selling my house and what were my future plans. She also told me that the price I was looking to get was somewhat high and after learning the reasons why I wanted to sell justified why I should be asking a lower price. She showed me comps of houses in my area which compared lookswise and square footage. She also explained to me what people look for and what stands out when they look at a house. She showed me how to do minor cosmetic improvements to make my home feel more cozy when someone walks through the house. She stated that first impressions were everything. I am currently adhering to her advice and hope to see my house on the market in the next couple of weeks. I am not reviewing Rapid Realty, but a dual agent from their team - CHARLES FATJO! Although my girlfriend and I did not end up renting from Rapid (someone else beat us to the application process for our apartment), Charles is, by far, one of the most professional, courteous, kind, and friendly agents we've worked with so far. He showed us an apartment in the area we wanted in the price range we desired the day after I first spoke with him. He was up-front and honest in answering all of our questions. He was even rooting for our dog Pickle in a case-by-case pet scenario. He knew what our financial needs were, and tried his best to get a pet-fee add-on lowered as much as possible. **Before you apply to an apartment with anyone - be sure you know you are the first to apply, and you are sure you want that apartment. The Management Co. we applied through charged us $100/person for the application fee. And that was non-refundable! So, when we were denied, we lost that money** All in all, I give Charles a 5-star rating. I have read the other reviews and it seems like people haven't had the best experiences with this company. This was my first experience with Rapid Realty. Here's my story: After a few months of searching for the right place at the right price, I was contacted by a young woman by the name of Yahayra Martinez. I explained to her my current living situation and what i was looking for and willing to pay, she told me that she would call me back in a couple of hours and possibly set something up for me to see the next day. Surely that she did, the next day I viewed the space that I am currently occupying and I am so very happy. I was looking for an investment property. I was told don't waste my time, I won't waste yours. She told me on the first meeting to bring a bank statement to prove I had the means to buy a business. I supplied the documentation she asked for., I had been looking for a business for over a year and dealt with other realtors who I felt kind of gave me the runaround showing me businesses they wanted to buy instead of what I actually wanted. Moving from Toronto to New York is stressful enough in itself (packing, UHaul, border), and finding a good new place to settle might have become another huge headache. Fortunately, after a few hours of internet search, one of the first numbers I dialed was Rapid Realty Astoria. Agent Patrick Campbell, friendly and helpful, was able to find 5 different options to check in the area, and then literally spent the whole day visiting these places with me. With his help I was able to find a great and reasonably priced apartment that same day. And broker Sherita Delgado then arranged to sign the lease with the Landlord on Saturday morning (!). I just found and rented the perfect apt on the UWS and couldn't have done it without Tami Lavi of Rapid Realty. I had been searching for apts for MONTHS now and was getting a bit discouraged that I wouldn't find a place that fit me - then I found Tami. He went above and beyond to accommodate to what I was looking for, not to fill a quota or to make a quick buck; he really focused on what he had to show based on my budget and my wish list, "pushing" me just enough to open my mind to alternatives that still worked for me, but never to "make" me see what was not really there and even backing off when necessary. He is not your typical prick agent with the i-am-doing-you-a-favor attitude, but rather with the expectation of working together. I'm shocked to see the negative reviews for Rapid Realty! I just moved into my new place in Woodside last month and could not have had an easier, more pleasant experience.
