We choose Raspberries & Creme as the place to get a wedding cake. My wife and I did the same thing when we got married so why not to the sane for our son?! The cake was ordered and we had a set pickup time. I arrived and walked right to the counter to pick up. I paid for the cake and v the staff told me to be sure to sit on the floor to keep the cake safe! It had been several years since I visited and to be honest I should visit more often. Quality has gone down I think. I remember a lot more strawberries that ran through the center ribbon or custard part of the cake. I got like none and neither did my kids or hubby. I'm also not a fan of the texture of their cakes. Not sure if things have changed or over the years my tastebuds just changed. When I picked up my preordered cake, I felt like the worker bees were too busy having a conversation to help me get my cake. A lady on talking on the phone had to break up the conversation to get them to help me. I was never greeted nor thanked for my order/purchase. I however, thanked them and left the store with my cake. Here's the deal. I just swoon over the ribbon cake. It's an OKC gem. Raspberries N' Creme has found a real prize winning cake in their ribbon cake. Is it worth the $40 they charge ($4 per person, per slice, for a 10 slice cake)...? Not sure about that. What I do know is they have a cornered the market on insanely delicious cake in the OKC metro area and I'm super glad they're here and I can order that ribbon cake for any special occasion (and I do). We get the ribbon cake reliably once a year (sometimes more). I could find a couple of opportunities to improve the ribbon cake (option to omit the flowers on top, the option for more strawberries, and/or berries as an alternative topping). That said, every ribbon cake disappears, every time. We politely (and subtly) try to snag as big of a piece as we can for take-home leftovers. We're always looking forward to the next special occasion where the ribbon cake can make an appearance. I love Raspberries N' Creme's ribbon cake. Are you people serious right now? The Ribbon Cake is good, I'll give you that. But good enough to be charging $40 (for the medium-esque size)? To quote Stanley Hudson, "Boy, have you lost your mind? 'Cause I'll help you find it." Let's do some basic math: 1. Approximately 50% of the cake is just hwhipped cream. Not hwhipped icing. Hwhipped cream. Sure, sure, it covers a multitude of sins, but it's also a sin in itself if most of the cake is just Cool Hwhip (homemade or otherwise). 2. Only half of the remaining 50% (that's 25% btw) of the cake is actually a bon-a-fide "cake." The chocolate layer is less than the vanilla layer. But the cocoa comes through nicely on the chocolate. Both sponges are moist and well-made though. 3. The final 25% of the cake is some yummy custard. It's delightful, actually. Probably the best element of this cake that's mostly not a cake so much as it's just several levels of Cool Hwhip and other... hwhipped cream-esque elements. edit: 4. I almost forgot. There's fruit in there. But it's so minimal that it actually slipped my mind and I had to come back and edit this review to mention it. Really, this is a great cake if I were to go to a picnic, and one of my amateur baker friends was like, "Hey y'all, I just threw this together, because I had a whole lot of extra Cool Hwhip in the freezer." But $40 for such a low effort cake feels like bamboozlement. This is cake for the Nichols Hills crowd who: (1) can't bake, (2) have money to blow, and (3) have reasonable taste buds, but at the same time, don't have like... super amazing taste buds either? Or here's an option: exclude the bouquet of flowers that's (neatly) shoved on top if it means that I don't have to pay the ridiculous markup for this Cool Hwhip cake. I'm assuming the cost of flowers are being passed on to the customer, because I can't imagine how else these prices ($30-60+) make any sense. [] Summary [] Good cake. Ever since my coworker brought in a cake from this bakery and shared it with us, I've been getting their cakes for my birthday. I always get their ribbon cake. It is well decorated with a beautiful layer of milk chocolate cake, moist sour cream white cake, fresh Italian cream, and strawberries. The icing isn't special since it's just whipped cream. All the flavors complement each other. I think they change the recipe for the chocolate cake since it's not as chocolatey and rich, while the strawberries aren't as fresh as my previous orders. read more

Had my baby shower a week ago and can't believe it's taken me this long to post this cake. My friends ended up getting this cake for me - had never tried it before and was surprised how beautiful it was. Simple whipped with flowers. I didn't have huge expectations. Once I was served some cake, I HAD to take the leftovers home!!! The cake was a hit! When it comes to take, I'm more of a slightly sweet light type of dessert lover. The heavy likes of Gigis cupcakes are good when you want to indulge hardcore and feel terrible right after. But this is the opposite. You want to indulge but it isn't as heavy. And I loved it! The whipped cream was the biggest win. The cake itself was good, but it's the whipped frosting and middle raspberry filling that rounded it all out. Never order cupcakes from this place. Ordered 3 dozen for $195 (yeah...) and they put them in FLIMSY boxes with the cupcakes NOT secure. The employees put the 3 boxes in my car. I drove very very carefully - only to find almost all of the cupcakes had tipped over. I immediately called. The owner said she would replace 2 dozen with different cupcakes. Resulting me having to take 2 hours out of my party prep time to get them. Left me scrambling and very unhappy because when you spend $195 for cupcakes you are wanting them to be beautiful and for a certain display. I did NOT get what I ordered! I called Monday asking for a manager to call back. Nothing. Then Tuesday I call again. The owner Nicki (?) was SO RUDE! She refused to refund even $1. I told her it is completely ridiculous to put expensive cupcakes in a FLIMSY box not secured. That is HER fault not mine. I did not get what I ordered- simple as that. The OWNER was very defensive, unprofessional and rude. She does NOT appreciate her customers and I would not recommend ANYONE to use them. I just stopped in to purchase a good friend a birthday cake from here specifically the round Ribbon Cake, which she has loved in the past. Cake tasted terrible, the chocolate part tasted freeze dried. In fact, all of it was dry with the exception of the pudding portion which is just science I'm not a baker but I'm convinced I've made a better cake and could make a better cake with vanilla pudding and a cake mix next time. Oh. I forgot some tasteless whipped cream I can buy for $1.50. Not to mention the owner uses the sales floor as her messy paperwork office and is rude and loud. The reviews were so wonderful that we decided to order our Thanksgiving desserts. We purchased an entire ribbon cake, a slice of the raspberry cake, and a slice of some sort of pecan cheesecake roll. When I called to express that my ribbon cake had at most 3 strawberries and was partially frozen, the person I spoke with who identified herself as the owner was extremely rude. She insisted that they do not make mistakes and was very defensive. I agreed that my prior experience has been very good which is why I was calling to express that this product was not up to the standards I expect and that they might want to know. While the cakes are still fine, the service I received yesterday was outrageous. I had ordered a ribbon cake for 10 to be picked up at 1PM. I arrived around 1:10 PM. The folks there looked at me blankly when I said my name and that I was there to pick up a cake. They quickly switched to Spanish as I realized they had lost my order. They found something on a sheet of legal pad and told me to sit down and that it would take 15 to 20 minutes and my cake would be ready. I had someone in my car who needed to be in a meeting at MidTown at 1:30. I said I would have to return. I asked, "Would they guarantee it would be ready at 2?" I explained I needed it for a shower that afternoon and that I was not happy it wasn't ready. When I arrived back at 2 PM someone was in front of me in line. I waited for what seemed like an eternity as she went back and forth about what she wanted to order. When it was finally my turn I stated my name and that I had returned to pick up my cake and I hoped it was ready this time. A different person was at the counter so I re-explained this was my second trip to get the cake and I was frustrated . I didn't raise my voice. I just explained my situation. She handed me the cake and then told me "Get out!" I was perplexed by her reaction. She told me she didn't like my tone and to leave. She also said "And your cake was always supposed to be ready at 2 and it was. " I told her I didn't think so. I was almost certain I had ordered it for a 1 PM pick up since I I knew it would be most convenient to pick it up right after the Leadership Luncheon was over and the lunch was held right down the street. She then shouted, "Get out." I left and went to my car. But was so sure I was right I checked the confirmations on my phone as well as the original order. All said 1PM so I thought if I showed this to her she would surely understand my frustration. Nope. I walked back in and showed her the two confirmations and before I could pull up the order itself she shouted, " Get out and never come back." One thing is certain. She is correct. I never will come back. I will share this story with everyone I know. I didn't deserve to be treated like this. No one does. And here is the coda to this story. I told the guests at the shower about this. One guest said, "Well at least you got your cake." Her sister had had a similar story and never even got the cake she had paid for. Yikes! read more

Raspberries N' Creme's cakes are simply delicious. Its cakes are moist and not too sweet w/a delicious whipped cream over it, and it's adorned w/a real beautiful floral. Sometimes, if you're lucky you're able to buy a cake w/o making a pre-order, since they sometimes do have extra cakes (canceled orders, extra cakes, etc.) on hand. Most times that I've stopped by for a cake (walk-in and pre-ordered), I had to wait from 10 - 15 minutes to speak to anyone, because they weren't in the room/building. One time, I pre-ordered 2 cakes, a ribbon cake and a raspberry parfait, but, somehow, my order was mixed up, so they ended up making 1 ribbon cake and totally forgetting about the other cake. They did apologize for the mix up and even gave me a small discount. Anyhow, about traveling with these cakes...if you keep your car very cool and follow the spoken instructions, your cakes should be fine. One time, I had to travel 1 and 1/2 hours away with the whipped cream cakes, and the cakes made it safely to my destination. I would have given Raspberries N' Creme 4 stars if they were more organized; however, the unorganized ways haven't deterred me away from their delicious cakes. read more

I have always loved these cakes. Last couple of years have made me rethink spending so much on a cake. A couple of years ago I got home the top layer was sliding off. The next year we cut into the cake the bottom layer had a huge chunk missing and filled with cool whip. So disappointed! I wanted a RN'C cake for my birthday so badly but I will never order from there again. In the past, I never had an issue but this time we experienced multiple issues! The cake was not ready for pick up and we had to wait for a half-hour at the bakery for them to finish it. When they finally presented it, the staff dropped a pen on the frosting. They never apologized and were rude to my husband. They also said they were out of cakes so they just scraped off the frosting with a spatula where the pen fell. Called in my order for a sandwich. They said it'd be 20 min. I thought that was odd. So I show up 25 min later. They tell me they stopped making what I had ordered a year ago. So they couldnt make it. They never called to let me know. So I have to wait an ADDITIONAL 25 minutes while they make something similar. The sandwich was mediocre. The side (chips) were bad. So disappointed...I've been a long time customer. I moved to Texas about 10 years ago and would always make it a point to stop buy for lunch every time I came to town. I recently moved back to Choctaw, OK and have had lunch here three times (service was terrible all three times...it has definitely gone downhill). I decided to try for a fourth time today and unfortunately my last. We arrived at 1:05 and finally a girl came by 15 minutes later to take our drink order. She apologized and said she was the only one working the floor (don't make your problem, our problem). We were now crunched for time so we placed our drink and food order at the same time. It was 1:40 and still didn't have our drinks (we'd been there 35 minutes). My friend and I got up and walked out and went down the street to The Garage. We order a gender reveal cake and you could clearly see the color of the reveal without even cutting it. The cake was absolutely delicious, there is no denying that. We were so extremely careful to not damage it and to keep it refrigerated immediately and it still came out lopsided and super patchy revealing the color of the surprise. Look. You can get cakes that are made of fondant, or super thick butter creme, covered in crystals, that photograph beautifully, but taste disgusting. OR, you can get cakes that are still beautiful, though less elaborate, that people will EAT. We opted for DELICIOUS. Raspberries N' Creme did a cake BAR for us. One 3 tiered cake, and 9 smaller cakes (all different flavors). ALL DELICIOUS. If you want people to EAT your cake, then pick this place. They are the most moist, delicious, and fluffy cakes in the city. And while they aren't covered in nasty butter creme and crystals, they are covered in gorgeous flowers and whipped creme.
