    Coffee

My favorite breakfast spot in OKC (even went here the day of my wedding in the morning). I love the spicy mutaleno, the refried beans are the best in the city, and we always get plantains with sweet dipping sauce. Their coffee is amazing with seasonal flavors and drinks. Every dessert I've had has been immaculate especially their churro cheesecake which was so good. The inside is quaint and always a bit crowded and loud. It is always busy in the mornings so make sure to have an online reservation. Parking can also be tricky but there is a lot above the restaurant where you can park.

OKC, your food scene does not dissapoint! Cafe Antiqua has bold flavors and exceptional service.

    MIGAS

I always get the Mazapan latte it is delicious and not too sweet even with the whipped cream. The migas is spectacular and the black beans have so much flavor on any plate you get. I love that it comes with the fresh fruit with mango sauce. The fresh guacamole is exactly what it says it is. It's a big loud inside once it gets busy, but the food makes it worth the stay.

Wonderful meal. CARNE ADOBADA pictured. We had the nachos as well, which were some of the best lloaded nachos I've had. I added steak, and the fried onions really brought the nachos together. The Carne Adoba was extremely flavorful. I loved the beans,, which were pureed and different than anything I've had before. This was my first Guatemalan experience, and it was wonderful.

I was visiting family near this place and wanted to try it out. The food was amazing and delicious, the service was great and family-friendly, and the interior was clean and beautiful. I would definitely eat here again.

Thought we'd check this place out and see if it was a good alternative to café kacao. Unfortunately it does not compare. The service is excellent so it's a great place to go to for good service and if you're super hungry and just need a quick bite to eat. However, their selection of specialty coffees is nothing special, and their regular black Guatemalan coffee is nothing ill get again. My husband hot the burrito and i got the machaca breakfast. Portions are much smaller than Cafe Kacao with about almost the same price tag. Im ok with less food as portions are much bigger than they should be at most restaurants anyway, but the price should be a lot less considering. The flavors were also just blah. Nothing special. Anyway, the service was excellent and we had a fine time. Establish was quaint and easy to have a co conversation . No wait when we arrived at 9am on a Wednesday. But wont be coming back in favor of other breakfast spots.

    Tres Leches Concha

Great place for brunch. Started with the Santa's Cookies coffee drink. Pro tip, let the cookies on top melt in the coffee, it's like drinking liquid cookies. Also got the tres leches concha for table. I am not a tres leches fan, but this did not taste like tres leches at all. Just enough liquid to dip the concha in without the concha being soggy, and a nice Nutella flavor. Great option for Guatemalan breakfast without the long wait of other similar restaurants in the area.

    Spicy Mocha

Let me start with the bad: Nothing. What was good? Kitschy, homey atmosphere -- buzzing on a weekend mid-morning. The service was great! Friendly, helpful, attentive. Started with a spicy mocha, which was exactly what you would hope for and expect. The spicy motuleno was really great. I am already looking forward to being back in OKC to work through more of the menu.

Carne Asada Lunch and Chilaquiles Breakfast

Cafe Antigua is always an exciting stop for some brunch. Got to invite a fellow Yelp Elite to try it for the first time and was so happy to share some yummy food. Cafe Antigua gets busy, so definitely be prepared to use the wait system that they have at their sister location Cafe Kacao. We came on the earlier side about 10, and we were able to be seated without waiting. Huge area, a lot bigger than Kacao, so definitely more seating immediately. As far as food, I tried something different this go round and had a machaca omelette which was fine. The asada is typically my go to, and I probably should have gone with that but I wanted to try something new. The machaca just was okay. Nothing too crazy flavorful. The beef wasn't memorable, but it still was a good meal overall. Their beans are amazing! The rest was good. My friend enjoyed her spicy montleno. Both lattes were also yummy! Definitely would suggest the salted caramel. The miss was actually the tres leches concha. I realllllllly wanted to like it. But it was SOOOOO dry. I mean, REALLY dry. Which was surprising since it's supposed to be tres leches right? But no, both the top and bottom portion was extremely dry. So I definitely wouldn't order again. 4 stars since the machaca was okay and was a complete pass on the tres leches concha, but everything else was good.

The same as the last few decades I've been dining here. Always delicious and always creative and beautifully plated. The service is always perfect.

    MACHACA OMELET
    Alex A.

What an excellent place with outstanding breakfast options and espresso menu. Loved the Machaca omelette with shredded meat. It all paired nicely with the classic refried beans and plátanos. Loved the tomato salsa and sour cream that came together with the homestyle potatoes. Service was great and the ambience was perfect for breakfast. Loved the visit, would like to come back soon.

So first they tried to sit us at a round booth with a rectangle table that didn't fit so that was poor planning. We asked for a different table and they obliged, no biggie. The oldest young man told us we could scan the QR code for the menu and then left. The menu site had big ads that made it hard to be visible sometimes but we worked through it. He immediately came back and started asking if we knew what we wanted. He didn't even offer drinks, we had to ask and tell him we were figuring it out. We ordered appetizers and food eventually. The empanadas came out, the description said there was meat in them, I saw none. He asked us if we wanted plates, we said yes please and silverware. He brought plates, my husband had to get up and get silverware. Then almost immediately our food came so the timing was poor. The food came out a little at a time. Like our sides and then our mains with some space in between. As they left from the first round of drop off, one of the boys farted really loud right next to our table and just walked off. No excuse me. No I'm sorry. The food was fine and okay, the experience with the wait staff made it just not enjoyable. Also, the carne asada doesn't seem to be actually carne asada so it felt like a lot of things were not as promised. We watched them lock the door a half hour early so be aware they don't honor their posted hours.

Drinks we started with Inca Kola (lemonade) and Maracuya (Mango Juice). These were a great starter, not tarts but not overly sweet. As an appetizer we got Patacones con ceviche de camaron. These are fried plantains like chips, topped with shrimp and an amazing sauce that will make your mother water. It's served warm and best to be picked up and eaten. This will get you ready for your entree. For a fish entree we had Ceviche de pescado. This is a dish with fish and corn in lemon juice and hot peppers. It's served cold on a bed of lettuce with sweet potato slices. It's very easy on the eyes, flavorful, good mix between the fish and red onions. The sweet potatoes gave it a good contracting flavor. Best eaten with the hot peppers and lemon juice. Our final entree was Lomo Saltado. This is a beef dish served over beans and tomatoes with rice, red onions and cilantro sauce. I put a bed of rice down, covered with onion, then beans, then the beef (which had the most amazing tenderness) and topped with the cilantro sauce. The sauce pulls the whole meal together, and all the flavors works amazingly with each other. Finally we finished with Flan Lucuma. Picture traditional flan but instead of a caramel type topping it was covered in a Peruvian fruit juice that gave it some amazing flavor and not an overpowering sweet. We will definitely be back for more. The staff were so sweet and kind. Very helpful and helped us pick out some great choices. You won't be disappointed.

They have the robot that brings out food for you like at certain hot pot restaurants. The robot was not precise and it would stop at random table instead of the exact table where it should be. The el mar which is a seafood combination dish and included lobster tail, shrimps, and a piece of salmon. The dish was really cheap, only $23.99. The shrimps and salmon were good. The lobster tail was not the most fresh. The meat at body end was soft/soggy. The mixed vegetables were frozen vegetables. Please never ever use frozen mixed vegetables. I would rather pay a little more for fresh vegetables. I didn't quite understand the use of salsa as there were no chips for it. There were tortillas but salsa and tortillas don't go together, am I right? Who knows? I didn't touch neither. This restaurant also has burgers, steaks, and pasta which I haven't tried.
