Paid Robert $565 by Venmo on first visit. Robert did a min seal and picked up the trapped mice on first visit. He did not come back despite numerous calls and texts. Did not follow through with 1 year guarantee for the seal or follow through with the once a week for 6 weeks plan to pick up trapped mice. Talks a good line but doesn't want to do the actual work. Here is the story: This guy had no problem taking $365 from us to get rid of mice / rats, however he did have a problem eliminating them. This was mainly due to having bad business skills and not keeping in contact. There were no set appointments, call him, wait 24-48 hours for a response and the response was typically 'I am 10-30 minutes away' We aren't home every day all hours, but we were able to schedule time for the first visits. Then no more responses via phone for 4 months which prompted Karthika's review. We got some shocking emails from him today, we have been very pleasant and nice through the experience, and he is very friendly in person, but something snapped and here are his emails to us ( we didn't edit them): "Why are you writing reviews like this. I told you or my problems with contacting you. Your house is completely infested. I have sealed the holes/ and they chew new ones. I have tried to set return times with you and you put me off. I have made special trips for your house. Peter called me to come back after reading this review would you.????? Robert Explain 1-866-252-9353" Pretty bad business skills there, that's to Karthika's post, which is honest and fair, since it had been 4 or 5 months of waiting for a call back as we dodged rats at home with a new baby, no calls back from him during that time, which we would call 3-4 times a week waiting for a callback. Also he wrote: "I never got phone calls saying the rats are running around. You need to talk to peter about phone messages. I respond to problems always. Robert. I did not receive 4 phone calls from you either/ I can prove with my caller id. If you had such problems then why did you put me off a week. Contract void good luck with your smells." Rude. All in all not a nice guy, voiding a contract that we paid for and he did not fulfill. Of course we did call him, we have phone records yadda yadda, but sigh, really? so petty... I've been battling an annoying roof rat problem in my attic for a couple of months now. I catch some, more appear later. On top of that they would keep me up at night with their little dance parties up there. I tried my best to figure out where the heck they were coming in from, but no luck at all. I was hesitant about calling an exterminator because I didn't want someone just leaving a bunch of poison around so that the rats could die in some inconvenient place and stink up my entire house - and charge me a fortune for doing so. Then by chance I stumbled upon Rat & Elimination Company. The owner, Robert (aka, "Ratman"), is fantastic. He doesn't use poisons. He finds out how the rodents are getting in and seals off their entry points, then he sets up conventional traps to catch the remaining ones that are left. On top of all that his prices are reasonable and his work is guaranteed for a year. He's on time, and it's hard for him to not have a smile on his face when he's talking to you - a great guy. He's licensed and bonded too.He just doesn't do rodents though, pretty much any other pests around the house he will tackle as well. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I feel that Robert is so outstanding at what he does that others need to know about him and what he does. We called Robert to help us with our rat problem because of the shining reviews on Yelp. He was great initially, but we are very disappointed with his lack of follow-up. He has not returned numerous phone calls to finish the job (he first came to our home about 4 months ago), and unfortunately, we still have rats. We thought we were going to get five-star service based on what we read here, but we've actually caught more rats without his help. He requires that you pay him his full price up front, which is supposed to include follow-up. I will gladly update this review when we are rat-free. read more

I first met Robert because my landlord called him for the rat issues in our rental. He took care of everything there. He called me to follow up a few days after the initial visit, I could have called him, but things were fine after his visit. I called him to help when we moved out of the rental and bought our house. I contacted Robert once in the past (I have had a rat infested house for 12 years - they come and go). For the first visit rats were caught and ugly foam blown (which I did not realize would show on the exterior of the house and later had to pay painters to scrape and paint over). Then years later I called again, desperate to rid the home of attic rats. Robert was great and rats were caught - unfortunately after repeated visits the rats kept returning and he was unable in the end to rid the rat problem, explaining that I had a "very difficult attic". He did refund (prorated) the amount of money (he requires prepaid) for services rendered, which I thought was fair, and he is very pleasant to deal with, although after the initial 3-4 visits, can sometimes take awhile to get back to you. I would recommend him if you have a simple rodent problem - he's good. However, for a more complex problem like mine, he wasn't able to solve the problem (and I am still needing to solve this problem). read more
