Wow. This was way more disappointing of an experience than I was hoping for a "family owned" business. The initial consultation was fraught with high-pressure sales tactics including "mandatory" work items that we weren't allowed to refuse if we wanted them to work on our home, such as replacing roof vents, which they never actually inspected, that already had rodent screens on them, and proactive work that, despite never being a problem area for over 2 decades, somehow needed immediate and mandatory protection because "if you close off one area to the critters, they'll go here next". Sorry but the fear tactics just don't sit well with me. I wanted an honest, grounded discussion. Instead I felt like I was treated like some sort of rube to be taken for a ride. They came to my condo sprayed did a great job. I unintentionally signed a contract for 12 months at $50/month. They let me out of the contract which they did not have to do. I am a senior citizen and this would have cost me $600 which is a small fortune. So I think they are a great company. They sprayed my condo and got rid of the ants. The day prior to my appointment, they called and had to cancel for the following day. We agreed to move it up a day, putting them two days out instead of one. Not only did they do a great job in REPAIRING the woodpecker damage in a way to stop further damage, but they did a good job in helping us get rid of our bird "issue." We initially had a great experience with Whitmore Pest ridding our house of mice. The technicians were super nice and informative. We decided to sign up to have them come out every 3 months to start. We've only seen one dead mouse in our garage since they put in traps in a really systematized manner. HOWEVER, today, I was legitimately berated by the receptionist/ scheduler, for needing to reschedule an appointment. Though it was 30 minutes before the time slot my husband chose for us, I recognized this was late notice and even explained the personal reason it was needing to be rescheduled (I'm sick and need to go to doctor in this slot). She CONTINUED to be nasty to me to the point that I just told her to cancel the appointment, and we'd find another place to help us. She then CONTINUED to be nasty to me while simultaneously telling me to reschedule and insisting that I was at an extreme fault for the 30 minutes notice, and, although she now knew why now, she still needed to tell me that over and over again. If this was a pattern for me after being a regular customer now for several months, I would say then I could see her continuing. I also recognize the warning is necessary, however geez Louise, that is not acceptable customer service. It's too bad, because we did think the service and technicians were great. But, I don't need to be attacked to schedule an appointment. read more

I live in a small condo community close to open space and that has lead to a problem with rats. I can say that Whitmore has been nothing but professional and helpful. Our neighborhood is lucky to have them servicing our property. They have been working efficiently and carefully around our unit. Whitmore Pest & Widlife are amazing! I saw what I thought was a Skunk in my front yard at 5:00AM, after it got lighter out I did see that it was a skunk. He was kind of moving but I could clearly tell he was in distress. I called Whitmore after I got to work and spoke to Tara, she was so nice and did everything she could to get us seen that morning.  She called me back and said John would be out shortly, he showed up about 11:30, the skunk had moved a bit but John was able to get him out of the bush (he was just laying in the front yard when I first noticed him).  John successfully got him into a box and put him down with no release of spray. This is the company you hope you never need but if you do, I highly recommend them. We found a dead rattlesnake in our basement and wanted to make sure no more were there or could get in! We had gone with one of the large national companies to "seal" the house in the past when we had a pack rat. Whitmore did such a thorough job of finding the places the other company missed including a hole in the siding that was just hidden by a rock. A ferrel cat had kittens underneath my home in the crawl space. I pulled out 4 precious kittens this morning, gave them a bath and fed them. No one from the City would help me. I called Whitmore pest control and spoke with the owner. I explained to him I had no money to pay him and asked for his help. He was very kind to me, asking me to email him all my info so he could help by picking them up while he's on a call in Denver. The owner offered to help me when no one else would & take them to the Denver SPCA where they will accept the animals. The kittens are as cute as can be. I used Whitmore because they were recommended on yelp. We have had a lot of coordination issues and mixed communication from the get go about our mice issues at home. Also The woman who answers the phone is really rude. While the automatic service where they come regularly to check on mice issues is a good idea they get prescheduled by the company and then we get notified when they are coming. That is pretty inconvenient for a residential owner to track the company to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Why not just do what my dentist does and email or text me that it is time to set up an appointment. You have choices for pest service - find a company that is easier to work with. read more

So I heard a critter scrambling around in my attic and contacted Whitmore. Melissa was very helpful in educating me on the how's and why's a technician would need to do once onsite, and on the fee schedule for the different services. I scheduled an appointment. Technician Jonathan just left. He was delightful and absolutely professional. He discovered where the critter had attained access, Jon also wormed his way into an extremely awkward attic access panel to see what - if any - damage the squirrel had done. Jon was thorough in reporting his assessment and in communicating his reasons for his conclusions. Then he went to work blocking the access (which was in a soffit) with metal flashing. Although I had said that I didn't need any painting done to the raw metal (as I am replacing all the fascia and soffits sometime this year), Jon said he "had some spray paint that matched pretty close" to my soffit color and that he just had to make the end product look good(!) Boy howdy do I recommend this company. While I hope to never have to call on them again, they will be my first call, should the need arise! read more

We had Whitmore Pest Control come out to help us with the snakes that were living near the front of our house under a planter. They responded quickly and came out two days later. At that time, they patched a few holes (terribly) and we were charged $150. When the snakes were still coming out of the very same holes the next day, we called back and they agreed to come back out to look at it. The technician re-patched his previous work and when I asked about other places, he assured me that there were not snakes getting in and out of that area. That day I received a bill for another $150. I called to complain that I was under the impression that they were coming to fix the job that had not been done well. The secretary argued with me that the technician had fixed additional areas and brought the charge down to $75. Well, we still have snakes coming in and out of the EXACT same area. We have paid the company $225 and literally nothing has changed. It sounds like they do good work most of the time, but if they can't guarantee their service, then I would say not to waste your money. read more

I hired Whitmore to get rid of a biting bug problem, I was shocked at the price of $600.00 !! Many times what other companies charge, but I was very determined to get this taken care of so I hired them. They promised to solve the problem and said they were worth the price they charge. They sprayed the inside and outside of the house and yard. I called back because the issue was not resolved, they came again and sprayed the inside of the house, they charged me 160.00 to do this. I asked the technician if he was using an Insect Growth Regulator in his spray, he looked very surprised and asked how I knew about this. I told him my cousin owned a PC company out of state and said he always uses it for his clients. Please read about this online, it stops the life cycle of the insect. He said he would use it on this treatment. For over 600.00 I would have imagined he would try to solve my problem ! PC companies keep consumers on the hook for regular spraying by not using an IGR. The eggs hatch, the insect matures and breeds and you have to spray again $$$$. It is also important to know what spray is being used and to do your online homework to educate yourself. You need the right spray, application, and an IGR to SOLVE a pest problem. PC companies make more money if they have to come more often. You are exposed to more expense and chemical exposure if they are unwilling to treat in such a way as to solve the problem, you are also risking an infestation of the pest by using methods that allow the pest to breed and multiply. I hope this will help others. I would never hire this company again. They were in it for the money, not to help. read more
