Horrible customer service. First we were scheduled time slot for this past Monday 8a-10a. Then 730 am on day of service I was contacted by Dane saying he is double booked and cannot come. This was the first red flag. Then a second technican (Desiree) came about 5 hours after the original promised window. She spent a considerable amount of time inspecting our roof and attic for critters. Then she let us know she cannot do the work and that her manager will come the next day. Next day manager comes late. Does a whole another round of inspection and says he doesn't have the material needed to do the work (its like going to the dentist and have them say you need a filling but don't have the filling material). He begins to tell my wife that the cost will be roughly 1,000 and leaves with no work done again. Then we get an estimate of 3500 which is 3x what he said. After being confronted with all the false promises and false quotes he essentially says the technician Desiree and my wife were both incorrect. BE CAREFUL with this company. Get a second opinion, you have been warned!!! read more

Called for a consultation for a mouse issue and Douglas was to show up between 8-10 am today. No show and no call. When I called the office I was told, oh well they got busy. I wanted to know when he was coming and was told, sorry you can only reschedule. This is unacceptable, why would I do that and risk no show again!? I asked for a call from management and was told I'd get a call within one hour. Well it's been two hours and nothing. I do not recommend these people. I submitted a request for a quote for a fly problem through Yelp. I then gave them my address and information to BreAnna as she said that was next steps to get my info to the proper service department. I missed a call today from Doug, a sales consultant, saying he could arrive at my house earlier than our 4 pm appointment. I had never set up an appointment. I told him this and asked if I could receive pricing and information on possible treatment plans. He then tells me that this company doesn't even handle insects. What a mess they are!! I'm glad this poor guy didn't just show up at my house. With how discombobulated the company seems to be, I would NOT use them. read more

I received a quote for one of my units in commerce city and needless to say I should have looked up the reviews before reaching out to them. Pros : Free quote. Well I think I would have actually paid them not to sticker shock me with this tbh. Cons: Few obvious red flags... 1) ridiculously overpriced quite (7k +) stating that I had rodents / raccoons / squirrel infestation in my basement and attic and loads of damage. 2) apparently showed pictures to my property manager and proof of this damage. ( when asked to mail the pictures - No phone calls returned , crickets lol pun not intended) Conclusion : Finally got two other quotes and companies to take a look at it and I had no infestation what so ever.. just really old squirrel poop and some damage to the entry to the vent space which costed 275 to get sealed up and 450 to get all that cleaned out. So from 7K to 725. Also please send an actual technician to take a look at these issues and not a sales person. read more

Where do I start? The estimator, Anthony, came right out to give me a quote but it took several weeks to get any of the work scheduled. We had to pay half of the proposal up front and wait for someone to return my calls. They do not itemize the work other that to say "Full Exclusion Repairs" and "Excluder Device". Anthony mistakenly told us we had a bat entry point that was actually just a warped window that needed to be popped back in and he said we needed a ridge guard but we already had one. We were charged almost 5K and only refunded $750 for the ridge guard after the technician advocated for us. We were charged an additional $320 for an excluder device (bat cone) but since we didn't need a bat cone I asked for a refund. I was told that the price of using PignX and a bat cone were the same so no refund was given. PignX is $34 a tube if you buy it online and only lasts 30 days. I had First Choice Wildlife come out today to take a look at Critter Control's work and they said that the mesh wire over the dryer vent was a fire hazard and it had to be removed and the screws installed on our roof shingles to secure another vent needed to be sealed to keep water out. For $5000 Critter Control only sprayed a disinfectant on the droppings on our balcony and deck. They said they would be way to expensive to clean and seal our grill area so we should do that ourselves. First Choice removed the droppings, sealed up several holes in our grill, our siding and around our garage that Critter Control missed and fixed their mistakes for under $500. I will not be using Critter Control again. read more

I read the negative reviews AFTER hiring Critter Control to mitigate mice and got a little worried. While they are on the expensive side (reason for four starts and not five), I found them to be responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. The less expensive company I'd hired previously never looked into our attics for signs of mice nor did they get on our roof to look for possible entry places. The saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. Critter Control's inspection and subsequent mitigation were very thorough. I would use them again. read more

Critter Control of Denver sent a technician to evaluate the removal of a dead animal from my chimney. His pricing for what was indicated as necessary seemed excessive. Then he offered to also check my attic and after doing so, said I would benefit from new insulation, which his company offered. A quote of $8000 for 1200 square feet floored me, but when he wrote a formal estimate I was told he quoted the wrong price - it would be $10,000. A quote from an actual insulation company the next day was $2000. Given some earlier doubts plus the attic discussion, I decided to go with another company for my animal removal. They did an excellent job for half the price. read more

We were so disappointed with the service. We spent around $2000 and they didn't catch one mouse. Each time a technician came out they would say "we have no idea why" or things like "maybe you should try chocolate sauce" even though he didn't bring chocolate sauce to try on the traps. The technician would also do things that the managers at the company would say was wrong to do. It was a useless waste of our money and time. read more

I'm happy with my monthly service but buyer beware of attic issues. I've had my house "sealed" twice. Nothing seems to be covered by warranty. Within a few months of having It sealed the second time I had a small dead animal in my attic.. and was charged. If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is beyond dishonest. Bryce Bauman completed an inspection after we heard a mouse in our attic. He told us we had a rat/mouse infestation with over 50 tunnels and droppings everywhere. They could mitigate it and replace our insulation (1,200 square ft.) for $17,000. yes, you read that right $17,000. of course I got 2 other quotes from companies that said I did not have an infestation (1-2 mice with a tiny bit of droppings in one small area). They both showed me pictures and video of my attic. Bryce showed me photos of someone else's attic. So dishonest and a total scam. watch out for the sleezy hard sale too! Last year, I hired them to remediate a bat and paid them $1,200. This year, the bat returned and they wanted another $1,000 plus an ongoing "package." The sales team uses fear as a tactic. You got a critter problem? These guys will effectively solve it. They are very efficient and their solutions are long lasting. My house is the tallest in the neighborhood, and this attracts the lovely Rock Pigeon, aka Rats with wings. There were pigeons nesting in my bathroom window nook right outside my shower- I will admit the 5am cooing was really nice...but also creepy. The pidgies also like to line up and poop in a nice line onto my deck where the roof overhang is. Finally, one pigeon took up permanent residence in a Victorian Nook outside of my daughter's room, pooping and cooing 24/7. Enter Critter Control- They placed netting and pigeon spikes in all the right places about 5 years ago. After a new roof job, I had one new problem area develop so I just called, left a detailed message and the problem was solved/fixed within two days and and invoice arrived. LOVE IT! I was very impressed by the sales rep who did an extremely thorough inspection of my house and tried to determine how a squirrel had gotten into my ducts. That was the best part of my experience with this very!! expensive company. I certainly did not get what I had been promised. Additionally the technician damaged my new roof compromising my warranty. The company sent an "inspector" out to challenge my concerns. Worst company I have ever dealt with. They lied about the scope of work that was needed since I was not with them when they inspected my sons house and my son was unable to see what they were saying since he is a disable vet. When they came out to perform the work the technician said we did not need all the work done and did not see any signs of the items the salesman stated. I tried calling and texting the salesman. After several attempts he responded he no longer worked there and gave me another number to call. I contact the new guy and got the same poor service and then stopped returning my calls. I finally got fed up and did there customer survey and got a call back from a regional manager in Texas where he stated the new guy no longer worked for them either. He did not resolve my issue and will no longer call me back. What a terrible way to run a company. Do not use Critter Control in Colorado. I am out $1756.00 and they don't care. Update: The company called me after seeing the review and said they would give me $400 back as a refund. I was then asked to change the review which I declined to do since I am not satisfied. A month later I received and email that they will only refund me the $400 if I change my review to a 5 star. $400 is not worth it for me to have someone else experience the same thing and get ripped off. This company should be ashamed of stealing money from anyone, but especially a disabled vet. Stay Away! read more

I had Critter Control come out and take care of a skunk problem under our large shed three years ago. They arrived promptly, scheduled the work quickly, and did a great job. The work had stood the test of time, and our skunk problem is history. Last week, I had them come out again to do similar work on our deck. (Rabbits this time.) Again, they gave me a call to let me know they were on their way, arrived promptly, then were able to get a crew over the same day to begin the work. As before, the job was thorough, and the employees were professional and efficient. They install a one-way trap so the animals can exit but not get back in, then they come back a week later to remove the trap and close up the entrance. Highly recommend. read more

I was not at all pleased with this company. They were over an hour and a half late and didn't bother to even call to let me know they were tied up at another job. I called them to find out. Felt very inconsiderate. Messed up my whole morning as I had many other things I could have done if I had known they would be so late. I understand schedule changes but just INFORM the customer! That is basic respect. The guy spent maybe 15 minutes looking at the exterior of my house for entry points for mice and didn't even bother to look in the crawl space. Felt very half-assed. Then I was told the report with pictures and an estimate would be emailed that same night which did not happen. I called the following day and was told the worker had called in sick. He called the following day stating the same. No photos arrived, just an overpriced estimate, so once again I had to call and make the request for what was promised me. The photos came in 3 days later than promised. All that for $129. I was disappointed that at every step, I was the one calling to simply ask for what was told to me was routine. I have never written an online review before, but I felt this was warranted. We contacted this company to come check our attic for squirrels, etc. We had had dead one's popping up over the course of a week or two, and tried at home remedies with no success. A guy from Critter Control came out and "inspected our attic" and by inspect, I mean stood on the ladder at the entrance of the ceiling and looked around with a light. Not to mention he didn't bring his own ladder or light. He used ours. He then proceeds to tell us that our attic is one of the worst he's ever seen with raccoons, squirrels, rats and mice. He also mentioned how much money we'd save by re-doing our insulation, etc. etc. He went to his car for a while to write up the quote, then came back in to go over it with us (he sat us down like he was telling us someone had died) then went over a quote for $8,000. He made it seem like he was doing us a favor by saying he called his boss and got us "discounts" on multiple items. They were 100% taking advantage of not only a young couple, but new home owners. He used as many scare tactics as he could, then even tried to press the monthly membership on us for spraying outside. OH and our house is 710 square feet total. 710!!!!!!! and quoted us $8000! We just had a second opinion done not even 20 minutes ago and the guy charged $199 for the inspection, fixed our one way door we had installed ourselves, and told us everything we needed to know to fix the problem ourselves, but said he'd be happy to come back out if he needed to. Totaling $599 if he did come back. Turns out we just have squirrels, possibly 1 raccoon every so often. This company is absolute scum. Our "inspector's" name was Joshua in Denver, CO. read more

9/2/17 - Evergreen Co. Today I had Critter Control scheduled to come out to help with a problem I have with bats. Jim and Matt were here on schedule and got right on the job. Matt sealed all potential areas of the house that could be openings for rodents and installed "one-ways" to extracate the bats. No small task as he was up 25-30 feet to the top of the house. Jim did an inspection of the perimeter of my house to identify possible ground level entry points for rodents, and let me know of areas to consider sealing. They were both really helpful and knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with everything. It was a great pleasure to meet them and I would highly recommend them. read more

My boyfriend thought he heard something in the attic, possibly a squirel. I called Criter Control and they came out the next day. After taking pictures of the exterior of the house, they came in and looked in the crawl space and attic and took more pictures. (They glanced in the crawl space and barely entered the attic.) Joshua and a lady he was training both started talking about bats, mice and rats. I was shocked and I asked them if I could see the pictures, Joshua said let us go to my truck and get you a quote and we will show the pictures along with the quote. They went into his truck and about 15 minutes came back in. We sat at the kitchen table and Joshua begins to inform me that they found 3 different types of feces. Bats, rats and mice. I felt like I was going to pass out. I asked how this could be possible when I have never once saw a mouse or rat in my house and we have never saw any mouse feces anywhere and we have been living in this house for 3 years. And we have never heard anything in the attic until my boyfriend heard something a couple of days before. The lady he was training said that it was common for mouse and rats to stay in the attic and NEVER to roam other parts of the house becuase they are good only eating spiders in the attic. I tend to be a little OCD and my house is extremly clean so I couldn't imagine how I could have not only 1 rodent let alone 3! He showed me a couple of pictures that showed feces and I think they said burrows. Joshua proceeds to tell me what this was going to cost....$17,100. Yup, he gave me an estimate of $17k. and then proceeded to say he could finance this amount for 90 days same as cash?! He did say he would give me a military discount, then called the next day and said his manager was okay if he took off another $1000 as long as I accepted the offer and scheduled the work that day. So the final price was $15,000. I went through the finance steps but then decided to get a couple more opinions as this was going to be a large expense. I called 2 other companies and guess what? Neither one of these companies found not one feces, let alone 3 in my attic! One of them stated that my attic and my home were pristine. We concluded that my boyfriend probably heard a squirel on the roof or deck and not in the attic. JOSHUA IS A SCAMMER AND A LIAR, THE PICTURES HE SENT ME WERE NOT EVEN FROM MY ATTIC! WE COMPARED THEM TO THE OTHER PICTURES THAT ONE OF THE OTHER COMPANY TOOK AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN MY ATTIC! HE USES SCARE TACTICS TO GET YOU TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T NEED. I've never written a Yelp review but I thought my experience with Critter Control warrants it. I'd just want any future potential customer of Critter Control to know how much of a trash business they are. They spent about 15 mins in my yard setting 2 traps for raccoons and when they didn't work the first night, came back added some McMuffins, literal McMuffins to the trap, another 10 mins in the yard and they left. Then one of their traps was set off by itself with nothing in it, they came back to reset it. The trap caught 1 racoon on the second night and I called to inform them of the catch, this was around 7-8am, and I had hoped they would come by immediately and dispose of the animal and instead they informed me they would be by that afternoon to check on it, leaving the angry racoon trapped in my yard for hours. I also told them the racoon was trying to escape the trap and they insured me that the raccoons "never get out of the traps" and about 15 mins after that call at around 8:30am, I watched my backyard camera as the racoon escaped from the trap and jumped my fence. Critter Control showed up hours later, basically said "too bad", took the traps and left and charged me $400 for their "expert" service. They are just as trash of a business as the rodent and pests they claim to catch. Would never recommend to anyone. read more

My brother is in the military and was deployed and they took advantage of his wife and charged them a ridiculous amount of money to get rid of rats that were living in there house. TURN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I contacted critter control after an inspection on the house I was selling stated that their "MAY BE" rodent issues in our attic. The inspector stated that he saw a few droppings but to contact a professional pest company to double check... Hence, why i contacted this terrible company. The guy that came (his name was Fred) was worse than a car salesman.. he was there to sell... Nothing else. He spent maybe tops 30 mins checking out my exterior and my attic for mice. He concluded that my attic was absolutely infested with Deer mice. He used scare tactics to tell me the deer mice carry the deadly HUNTA VIRUS and proceeded to show me an article on all the deaths from it in CO. He also stated that'd I have to restore my entire attic and change all of the insulation. The total for this was $5,000.00 as he stated my attic was 1750 sq. feet (even tho my entire condo is only 1339 sq ft). Since I was really scared about the disease these mice carry and the sake of my health and my family's, I scheduled the appointment for the procedure the following week. Two days later my boyfriend, who had gone up to the attic before and saw no feces, suggested we get one or two more quotes. We contacted several companies in which another (Critter Round up) came to look at the attic and give us a second quote. This gentlemen was up there for 1+ hours inspecting every inch of our roof and attic. He concluded it was definitely not an "infestation" of mice, stated he saw only a few tunnels and maybe two shot glasses of feces which was not at all a lot. He also stated it was IMPOSSIBLE to tell the type of mice (or even mouse as he stated it could highly be just one) it was unless he saw it (which this COMPANY - Critter Control - CLEARLY SAW NO MICE). He stated it could be deer mice or field mice but could not say for sure and be 100% since the mice activity was minimal. He stated we were no where near any health danger. He quoted me a little over $350 for a weekly treatment/ fumigation (optional) and stated an attic restoration was absurd. Basically, Critter Control sent me to the Emergency Room for a paper cut. Unless you have money to blow on stuff you don't need. DO NOT HIRE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!! THEY ARE FAR FROM HONEST AND YOU ARE MERELY PAYING FOR THEIR ADVERTISEMENT. Critters love our house and I love working with Critter Control to deal with critter problems when they occur. * BEES: Removed a bee hive from the roof overhang. Captured the queen and a couple of thousand bees, repaired the hole and now it looks better than it did before. * WOODPECKERS: Sprayed a repellent on the cedar siding and installed reflective hanging things to deter the woodpeckers from drilling multiple holes on three sides of our house. * SQUIRRELS: Squirrels had moved into the woodpecker holes. Critter Control installed one way doors so the squirrels can get out but not back in. One wall had baby squirrels that couldn't get out. I called Critter Control and they came out the next day and rescued the babies. Our house now is squirrel free. * ATTIC: Over the years, squirrels, mice and wasps made homes in our attic. Critter Control sucked up the damaged insulation, sealed the attic and installed new insulation. Now our attic is well insulated and critter free. * BATS: This year we had a bat in the house! I don't know how it got in but it was scary. Ryan from Critter Control came out and inspected all the places a bat could get in. A crew came out and sealed all the small cracks where a bat could get in. They also installed a few one way bat doors in case there are a few bats that are hibernating in the walls. When the weather warms up, we want to make sure the bats have a way to get out and not get back in. I first worked with Critter Control to rid a old church building in Alamosa county, CO of bats. The church had bats for over 60 years! There had been multiple attempts over the years to get rid of the bats, but the bat population continued to grow. The real problem was the smell in the summer. Critter Control got rid of the bats. They came back a couple of months later to help us get additional droppings from inside the walls to get rid of the smell. A year later the church is still bat free - which is amazing. read more

Whatever you do DON'T CALL Critter Control. This was a very stressful situation and Critter Control made it worse. We had a litter of raccoons in our fireplace. Critter Control came out to access the situation - installed a light and sprayed male raccoon urine, instructing us that the Mom would relocated in about a week. $400.00 BILL! 4 days later it's obvious that the babies are in distress - they're crying constantly, so we call Critter Control back to help access the problem. Again, they said the Mom was in process of moving the babies. We had asked to be called back by the supervisor but never heard from anyone. 5 Days later the babies are in major distress with no sign of the Mom - we again call Josh - no call back. We call the corporate office and left a message for Josh - again no call back. We call animal control they recommend a wildlife rescue and we call...Jack arrives and in 20 minutes he gently captures 3 tiny babies that have been abandoned by the Mom. If we had waited for Critter Control - the babies would have died. And we learned from Jack that we didn't need to do anything because the Mom would have left as soon as the babies were big enough. We spent over $800.00 unnecessarily! DON'T CALL Critter Control - they don't know what they are doing and frankly don't care...they just want the $$$$. This was in Denver, Colorado read more

Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues with this company. We originally called them to come out and inspect our attic as we were hearing noises. The inspector didnt even get into the attic, just looked up in the opening and decided it was a rat. So we treated and took all the suggestions. Unfortunately the noises continued. We called them out again. They basically told us we were crazy and there was nothing going on. Fast forward. Loud noises in our attic again. I called and was told someone would be out, no one showed. I even called the office and was told the tech was running late but would be here, nope. I called the following day and asked to speak to a manager, did one call me? nope. Extremely frustrated I called again and was able to get a tech out. No ladder, no inspection. The tech told me that he just didnt know what was going on and wanted to get it figured out but frankly just didnt like driving to Fort Collins. Luckily I had called another company and they were coming out the next day. They got into the attic and did a full inspection, took pictures so they could show me what they found. Bats. They immediately started course correction. If you live in Denver maybe a better experience, but if you live in Fort Collins, go local. They actually care. read more
