I even asked and saw several other people ask about more cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy and was told no there would not be more put out. I know one mom with small children was disappointed and then the muffins ran out too. If breakfast is posted until 9:30!then all items should be available until then. Overall, really unique stay and I would recommend. I'm happy they're pet friendly and only charge a $20 fee. The backyard was great for my pup to play around.

Well one thing let to another I'm wasted. Need a place to rest my head. Saw this beautiful neon sign that said Maverick Motel. I'm a huge fan of Top Gun and so I immediately knew that was the place. Boy was I not disappointed. The rooms were all remodeled the bathrooms were very clean and the lady I went home with that night said it was the best night sleep she has had in years. I would absolutely stay there if I pass through there again.

TERRIBLE wifi. I could only get 2 mbps no matter what I tried. 1st world problem, I know, but for $91.00 a night...? I get a pet fee if there is a floor to be damaged, but room 121 is way past protecting. 3. My room shared a wall with an abandoned meeting room or office of some kind, and there was a door between my room and that "storage area" that had the keyed lock on THEIR side. I propped a chair against it and hoped for the best. The place is old and tired, but the room was clean and quiet. And like I said, the folks that work there cool, which helps. BUT, $120.00 a night (including pet fee) for a room with rotting floors, a door that doesn't lock, and an antique a/c unit that sounds like a B-52 engine is a bit much to ask. Hope they get some of that Howard Johnson money and get her fixed up.

Bed, shower and couch. On a cleanliness factor it was around a 6.5/7. There were stains on the floor and a few dust piles but nothing obscene. It did the job while we slept for a few hours. It seemed to be basically empty with a few other cars in the lot, so we didn't hear anyone. It did seem a little run down when it came to the broken laundry food, and the vending machine rooms being fairly empty. Enjoyed the fact that they had a continental breakfast. It had some juice options, waffle maker, fruit yogurt, coffee, bagels and toast. Wish they did have something with protein like hard boiled eggs, a tea option would be nice too, but it did the trick. Overall, 3.5/5 stars. I wouldn't choose to stay here for more than a night maybe two but in a pinch it all worked out.

The manager of a hotel chain in the area was constrained by corporate policies and couldn't help. Even so, she recommended I speak with the owner of the nearby Robin Hood Motel. That quick referral to a friendly competitor said so much about the values of the City of Raton and the collegiality among the region's business owners. I felt relieved and reached out as suggested to the Robin Hood Motel's owner. The owner came up with an especially affordable rate for the off-season months. I feel utterly relieved to know this housing option is available not only for me but also for others who may join the regional workforce.
