HOLY SMOKES this place is great! The food is so delicious and they have a great beer selection for a small place. My husband had the brisket, pulled pork and Mac & cheese and beans. I had the pulled pork sandwich and some of the best potato salad I've ever eaten. All the food was amazing (esp the Mac and cheese) and with six bbq sauce selections the variety is endless. I expected this place to be good. After reading all the reviews.... The first time we went, we waited 10 minutes to be greeted, and 45 for our food. We live out of town, so the ONLY reason we waited SO long was the inconvenience of going into town, but the faith of the reviews that this was a decent BBQ place. The macaroni came in a cardboard to-go box that seemed to be microwaved. It was gross and stuck to the bottom. We have ordered twice from here and BOTH times they have forgot a side order. The brisket was cooked very quickly, leaving it dry and the fat inedible. The second time we ordered we called ahead. We called two times, before an employee called back saying, "if we don't answer the first time, we will call you back."Pretty inconvenient if you ask me. Overall, if you have tried BBQ, this is in NO way a good place to get BBQ food. Try Papa Soul food, or Bill and Tims. Same prices, better employees, better cooked food. However if you are a local or passing by the burgers are worth trying. read more

I went here because of all of the great reviews. However, I give it one star only because the wait staff person was so amiable. The food was terrible. I threw most of it out. The beef brisket I ordered was stringy, tough and dry. Similarly, I ordered a chicken breast and was given deboned, dry meat mixed in with the brisket. The mac and cheese was less than pedestrian as was the cucumber salad. One bright spot was the variety of BBQ sauces available. I placed my order 20 minutes before closing, so perhaps making a late order was the problem, but I wouldn't be willing to return at opening to find out. read more

I had been trying to get out here since last September and am so glad I finally made it. I make a mean pulled pork but I have to admit this was better. Then the "spicy' brisket was even better. A very casual atmosphere and great service. I highly recommend it for any one who loves great BBQ. Great job ... I'll be back as soon as I'm back in the area. read more

Excellent BBQ! They have a good selection of sauces and the meat has a really smokey flavor. I have been there several times so far and it's been great each time. There is an outdoor seating area with a view of the lake when the weather is nice. There have been a few restaurants here over the years but this is by far the best. Tried this place for the second time. We always try to give local places at least two chances. Ordered the prime rib special. Decent price and a good cut of meat. Too bad there was no seasoning, au jus tasted like water, I have no idea what the horseradish sauce was supposed to be. We were not asked how we wanted the meat cooked. It came out bleeding. It was so raw it was almost blue. The special was only meat and potato. No sides, no bread or salad. The menu is behind the register on the wall. The menu was unreadable. We had to order at the register instead of the waitress taking it at the table. It looked like they were out of over half the menu items. I don't see how this place stays in business. The bar must be supporting the restaurant. This place has a lot of good reviews so we were very disappointed. Will not go back. read more

Good BBQ, the sides could use a little work. I'll start by saying that my husband and I are from Texas, and this is his favorite BBQ in the area. He especially likes the pork ribs. I am normally a chicken eater myself, but every time I have been they have sold out of the chicken by the time I've gotten there. The staff is friendly and mentioned last time that a timely call with a heads up about what you'd like to eat, might ensure they throw enough on the smoker for you. (Just something to keep in mind). Last time we went they had a special that I tried, it was a brisket burger, and it was delicious! For the sides, the fried mushrooms are good and the fries are waffle fries (hubs said fries are ok-nothing special). The real downfall is the Mac n cheese. A fairly easy dish to make tasty their Mac n cheese lacks flavor and tends to be kind of dried out (insert unhappy face). The owners are new and perhaps still working out some bugs. To summarize, BBQ stands up, sides need a little improvement. We will continue to make the drive from Eugene. read more

We were passing through early afternoon and wanted something for lunch. We hit the jackpot with the Rattlesnake BBQ!! The outside speaks character and the rattlesnake title is eye-catching. Had to try it. Inside it is clean and simple. Order from the counter and get lots of help from the young woman managing the restaurant. I wish we had gotten her name. She was great!. We think this is a family business. She mentioned her brother is the expert BBQ guy. Anyway, we ordered a brisket sandwich and chicken sandwich, both absolutely amazing. The brisket was the best I have had since Texas, but maybe even better. Our server mentioned it was smoked for hours and hours. It had a smokey, slightly spicey flavor and totally tender. The same for the chicken. Several choices of BBQ sauce, all really flavorful. This place is a must for BBQ lovers. We'll come back and try the ribs next time, even if it is a 1 1/2 hour drive from our home. Oh yes, the cole slaw and beans were just wonderful, too read more

Although the place is not very fancy, the Barbecue is delish ! We've eaten here twice, and were not disappointed. I had chicken & cole slaw the first time, and pulled pork with potato salad and cucumber salad the second time. My partner enjoyed the chicken tacos. We had a delightful lunch here. Everyone was happy with their food - pulled pork, brisket and the baby back ribs. The baby back ribs were to die for, very meaty, tender and juicy. We also loved the macaroni and cheese. Our waiter was friendly and and very knowledgable about the menu items, wish I had caught his name. Couldn't have been better. I lived in Arkansas for a while and this barbecue is as good as you'll get in the south! read more

lets get straight to the point, this bbq place is real bbq. i have traveled to texas and had some of the best bbq ever and this place is right there . i haven't tried everything on the menu but i have had the bbq brisket burger and it is everything you would ask for in a bbq brisket burger , so good i dont want to change up my order just yet. the staff is awesome , super friendly and great service great drinks as well. if ou are passing through or live near by its worth the small drive out . great bbq , great people , great beer and mixed drinks , this place is a hidden gem for sure read more

Well, I always give a place 2 visits but today 6/19/16 these folks are the SLOWEST service I have experienced in a long time! The bacon cheeseburger was SUB par actually it was really bad (clean the grill) cheese sauce for the cheddar. The brisket was good just dry because it was cooked this morning. Great, authentic, down home country food! I've eaten and drank here now on three or so occasions as i stay nearby. Like others are saying, this is essentially a true neighborhood joint and not aimed at tourists. You have to know about the place since there is just one or two little signs on highway 58. The bar is connected but separate from the restaurant. They have a friendly local population that comes for drinks and karaoke night. Everyone makes you feel welcome in a true family atmosphere. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. I avoid red meat mostly but everyone says the brisket is the best. They serve a variety of the smoked meets without sauce or much seasoning but they offer a choice of about 8 or 9 different homemade BBQ sauces and a six-pack carrier so you can bring a number of sauces to your table. They have a great choice of beers and ciders on tap at very decent prices. Happy hour is a real bargain! There is a nice patio out back on those warm days. Not fancy but a memorable dining experience!! read more

I have eaten here more than 6 times with 4 or more people. They started off great but have been unable to sustain their success. The brisket (their specialty!) is usually very dry as is the pulled pork. When I say dry I mean inedible, no amount of sauce will help. The sauce was once excellent now its food service. Don't underestimate the importance of good sauce! Spend the extra time and money to have the best sauce and you're half way there. Never had the ribs, when I got up the guts to order them they were out. Often out of items. The burgers are excellent, so are the apparently home made chicken fingers. Let me be clear: when these folks are on they are some of the best ever! Consistency is their problem. I usually eat there on weekdays when maybe they put in the 2nd string or serve leftovers or something. Not that that makes it acceptable.
