Well I used to come here all the time when I was working nearby. Today I just decided to make the drive from Salem because I was craving it and haven't had it in a while. Honestly the prices are very good. And more importantly the food is great. I had to get there brisket. I got it in sandwich form. They offer nice thick slices of tender brisket. Seasoned well. Reminds me of central Texas bbq. I also needed some sides with it so went with potato salad which was great along with their bbq beans. Amazing. I love there sauces so I got one of each. Excellent BBQ find in Albany! We were visiting a cousin and wanted a quick lunch. Although it was a walk up/outdoor dining/drive thru restaurant, it was an enjoyable. Very reasonable prices with the lunch specials. I enjoyed the pulled pork and potato salad. My husband really liked his chicken sandwich and beans. We tasted and liked each other's sides. Beans were flavorful with bits of pulled pork. Potato salad was creamy with bacon bits. Both sandwiches had a generous amount of meat. Lastly, the BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. What a great little place! Definitely not fancy--no indoor seating, but there are picnic tables around and a place to wash your hands. I had a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw, husband had a sausage sandwich. $8.00 for each. Servings were generous, server was super friendly, and food was delicious. Would have liked a bit more spice, but this is a simple take out place that serves fresh, plentiful, and inexpensive food. Hard to beat! read more

The old adage of don't judge a book by its cover has never been more true than at Oregon Barbecue. What a gem. The food was outstanding...beans were off the charts and the meat was super flavorful and tender. The staff was super friendly and it was a great experience for a convenient grab and go dinner. Tri tip seemed boiled and chicken was just so-so, blah potato salad, ambiance is obviously trashy. Service was pretty dismissive. I may give it another try with delivery next time, but I was not impressed with our first meals at all. More hype than quality. read more

Went back here again while my partner, who is also Celiac and very allergic to gluten, was recovering from a hospital stay. The staff was super attentive to our allergy and she immediately told another member to clean off a station to ensure that there was no gluten contamination. My partner got a half rack of the ribs and I went for s pulled pork sandwiche and a sausage. They wrapped and kept the sandwich separate, which was awesome. The ribs were fall off the bone and amazing. Great sauce and a great sauce on the side. My partner ate most of them but I got a hold of a few ribs and loved them. The sandwich was huge...stuffed full of pork. The sausage was covered in sauce and super good. We ate the entire order and, for bbq, it was not at all outrageously priced. We will definitely continue to go back here for our bbq needs. read more

I called around 1:30 and asked if they were open and what time they closed. They said yes and 5:30.... Only to show up at 2:30 and saw a guy put a sign on window.. thought nothing of it as i looked at the menu and pulled forward. To find they took a break until 3:30. If I was the owner... I'd be upset. And I drove quite a ways to get my bbq hankering. So next new option was trying Willamette valley smokehouse a little north!! Amazing! And their jalapeno poppers to die for... along with their brisket. Just disappointed on the service as I called again and they both took breaks at the same time. Lost a good $150 in their day from us and our repeat business as I ordered for 10 people. read more

Really a 3.5 but Yelp won't let me do that. Went here with my family as we were staying in a hotel nearby. We saw that it was reviewed well and had a line, so we were excited to try it! I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs since I can usually take that down in one sitting. These ribs were HUGE and there was lots of meat! I was unable to finish them in one day. Their barbecue sauce (I assume house made?) was very delicious. My ribs were a bit chewy and dry so I was disappointed. The coleslaw was good, but not amazing. The beans were yummy, and definitely had some kind of pulled meat in it. I was a little bummed that they didn't offer mac and cheese as a side. Our server did say that "brisket is the only red meat on the menu," so that was concerning. My dad was unable to eat his chili because of that, but my sister seemed to like it. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket were devoured by my family. Whatever was in the beans/coleslaw wrecked my stomach even though I took extra enzymes, so if you have IBS or similar beware. read more

Really small, like an oversized food truck. Walk up window on the side, drive thru in the back. Picnic tables in a lot next to it. Just passing through and not sure I'd get another chance so went with the belly buster, 5 meats and 4 sides! Prices are very reasonable. Got it to go, quick turnaround and packaged beautifully. My favorites, top to bottom: ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Baked beans were awesome; the corn, potato salad and coleslaw were pretty basic. Solid BBQ offerings at this roadside spot. Order at the window and take away or eat that the tables located next tot he parking lot. My wife and I stopped by for lunch when were in the area. The pulled pork and brisket were both good. Flavorful and generous in amount. There was a constant stream of cars stopping by for take away, a testimony to their popularity in the local community. At least in September, take away may be the best option as we were beset by wasps trying to share in the bounty of our sandwiches as we sat the the tables. My better half loves his bbq so when he is in the mood Im happy to oblige. When in Albany Oregon for a few hours we stopped at their drive through. The guy at the window had great energy and seemed knowledgeable. Like some other poster said it is a no glitz place, although the outside of building is purple. I ordered the lunch special that gave you 3 sandwich choices with a side. I picked pulled pork and cold slaw. The pork was good with a Smokey taste and the cold slaw had a nice crunch. Would have been a little better with a tangier flavor. My husband enjoyed his ribs, cold slaw, but thought the potato salad was too salty. I tried a bite and way to salty for me. The lunch was a great price at $8 for bbq sandwich, choice of side and a drink. We took our meal over to a small park nearby under the shade trees. read more

man has this gone down hill it used to be great but now i only give it a 2 star the pork was mushy over cooked more likly it was yeaterdays or maybe even the day b4 that ribs also tasted old and were cold again like they had been smoked yesterday and reheated or something brisket was good just a lot smaller amount that i had gotten in the past. my out of town guest wanted to try it them so we did dont think i will be back as i can bbq better myself. i dont think they know that their is other BBQ options in albany Oregon BBQ company is not #1 any longer. read more

This place was very good. Good portions, fair price. I don't know if this is a thing but we are not from Oregon and everywhere we went to eat our food since we were traveling we were attacked with meat bees. We had a decent experience but fighting off the bees was for true birds. read more

This is a great stop along the 5 highway. We stopped for lunch and the food was delicious and quick. There is a lot of outdoor seating, and they have umbrellas so it doesn't get too hot. The service was great and everyone was nice! We definitely recommend! read more

We were happy to find this spot open. The food took a bit to be ready, but it was worth the wait. The Lunch Special is such a deal. We had the brisket (small extra charge), chicken, and pulled pork. The brisket was outstanding. They have a great variety of side options. We enjoyed our lunch on their picnic benches, complete with umbrellas for shade. read more

History

Established in 2013.

The Oregon Barbecue Company (OBC) began in 2013 as a competitive BBQ team that participated in competitions up and down the Pacific Northwest. Our passion for BBQ led us to get involved in these competitions as a way to join the BBQ world and meet other like-minded people who shared the same love for slow smokin' meats as we do. After winning multiple awards throughout the competition circuit, folks began to inquire how they could try the meats that we had worked so hard to produce. It was then that we decided to bring OBC to the masses. We got ourselves an old 1979 Prowler trailer that had been converted into a food cart and we made our debut! We loved servin' our BBQ, and the public seemed to love eatin' it too. After 7-months in the cart, which we quickly outgrew, we needed bigger and more efficient ways to keep up with the demand that had been created. We now are in our Drive-Thru BBQ shack that has been dubbed by the public as the "Purple People Feeder."

We showed up in stages but the bartender must have been having a bad day he would get one drink order at a time is what my peeps told me, I thought they were joking. We ordered 2 Bloody Marys and one didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it so we mixed the 2 together. The food came out real slow and kind of haphazardly. I will say the hummus was good. The menu is American and Indian so I was excited. Some people's burgers were way over done and after the food all came out, I was informed they were all out of Dahl Makhani Which was disappointing. So I asked for Chana masala and after a while they came and told me that they were out of that too, so I settled for a black and blue burger with tots. My burger came and thankfully it wasn't overdone and it came with fries. Now the last 2 at the table are still waiting for their burgers none too happy. As I finish my Bloody Mary I notice a 1 1/2 inch crack in my glass which I take up to the bartender and let him know, he didn't say anything. Now in the meantime 2 people at the table are saying the chicken Caesar wrap they ordered didn't taste right and opened it up to find what looked like curried chicken chunks that were rinsed off inside the wrap. A while later I order to Kona's for my friend and I, a while later he comes over to tell me they are out of Kona, so I order 2 different beers, and as I am getting down to the end of my beer there's a shard of glass. I take this up to the bars and tell the guy and show him letting him know I think I swallowed a piece and they better check the dishwasher or something. He throws the shard of glass in the garbage and walks away. The kicker 3 of us had bad stomach aches the next day. I don't know what's going on but I would avoid this place

Bingo on a Thursday night is a riot! The owner is so funny! Samosas are really yummy, I loved the…read morebrown sauce and the green sauce was too spicy for my liking. My friend loved her food as well. We had so much fun, laughing constantly. We will definitely back for the comedy, I mean Bingo ;0)
