They have competent PT Therapists but the focus on monetizing everything related to PT gets in the way of care. Attempting to call them on the phone to reschedule or ask questions is difficult. You are forced to listen to 2 minutes of advertising before they offer you the opportunity to leave a message. After my last attempt to reach them by phone during business hours, I received a call back 24 hours later. Coming to Rausch 3x a week for physical therapy is the highlight of my morning! My physical therapist, Ryan, is truly a gem. I have a connective tissue disease that is going to be a lifelong battle and he's the first PT I have had who has pushed me to make incredible progress. He comes up with new creative exercises, he helps me through painful flare-ups, he researches my condition to find more modalities to help me--he really goes above and beyond! The front office manager, Shawna, is so friendly and always willing to help. Her cheerful mood brightens up the whole clinic! She has dealt with some tedious insurance issues for me, and also helped watch my dog during my exercises :) Brisa was my favorite aide before she moved to StretchFit--she is so helpful, attentive, and fun to work with! Tyler and Kevin are also wonderful, and I love doing my exercises with them. I always feel taken care of! My massage therapist, Kevin, is one of a kind. The knowledge he has of the human body is seriously impressive! Recently, Dr. Ryan Tran started treating me for severe muscle pain around my knees and lower back. Every step I took was extremely painful. I had lower back surgery 40 years ago caused by a skiing accident. I had back problems ever since. After receiving multiple shuts over the years, the pain surfaced repeatadly. Dr. Ryan developed a treatment program which would strengthen the muscles around the lower back and knees, but cautioned it would not correct the structural problems of my lower spine. Since I saw confinement in a wheelchair as a possibility, I opted to be treated. At age 85, the treatment was demanding. The improvement during the treatments, besides the encouragement of Dr. Ryan and his staff, was a real moral booster and kept me going. Everyone at Rausch is great. I've been working mostly with Nick, who is so knowledgeable and caring. But everyone I've worked with has been great and all added their expertise to helping heal my neck and back. Rausch PT the best of the best. Milena is priceless and the team knows their stuff. They give you one on one attention. For a year I suffered with a torn Miniscus and floating cartilage which caused severe pain. I had surgery but had been dragging that leg for a year. I needed to learn how to walk and find my balance again. With a combination of specific stretches and balance techniques I am now walking normally and am pain free. I was very disappointed with the care I received at Rausch. I have had recurring sciatica for many years and know the PT drill well. This time it it included pain running down the front of my leg as well. I was in lots of pain. The treatment I received did not even come close to what most places have for protocol. I decided to try them due to their proximity. I had used Pack PT for many years and several years ago Rausch bought Pack and I thought I would try them. Big Mistake!! Ruth did the assessment the first day I went in. Before I left I went to make ongoing appointments but she had nothing but told me not to worry, she would work something out. That something was an intern who was so extremely inexperienced and had no idea what she was doing. She actually told me to stop doing the exercises I have done over the years for my sciatica. The only thing she ever did was lightly rub the muscles in the front of the thigh. Protocol in most places includes some combination of heat, manipulation, ice, electric stim and exercise not just alone but with equipment...almost always including bike riding. Rausch has no equipment except one bike which I never saw anyone using. After a few weeks of using the intern and having NO ONE overseeing her or checking on how I was doing I spoke up and insisted on one of the PT's work with me as I was not getting any better and my sciatica was actually worse. Their protocol is having someone work on you, have you do a few exercises on the table and scoot you out the door. I feel like I gave them a fair chance but knowing what good PT looks like I finally moved on to another facility that is right on target. I am already feeling better. I came back on yelp to relook at the reviews for Rausch and realized that many of them were actually published when Brody Pack owned the business including my own which was 5 stars. I deleted it as it was for Pack not Rausch which I feel is deceiving but probably legal as they were most likely purchased as park of the business. I am now at Spine And Sport in San Juan. They are not part of the new Spine and Sport chain but an independent company that had been around for a long time prior to the new S&S chain expanding into OC from San Diego. I have been there a few weeks and the progress I have made is excellent. I am a medicare patient and have not been denied anything. The atmosphere is lovely as are the people working there. Second ACL repair, other knee...Full tear, allograft... The right PT has been critical to my recoveries and prognosis...Pack PT is a fantastic group of PT's, Technicians and Administrators... I had good fortune to 'pre-hab' for 6 weeks prior to surgery. Brody Pack and his team laid out a great plan and therapies for ensuring a successful post op. Very individualized attention, listened and worked with me on my goals and showed great proficiency and knowledge. Post op was fantastic. I wanted an agressive recovery. They created a plan and made sure that I was challenged while keeping me honest during the long term recovery. The PT's we're all highly skilled and best in class, I credit my quick recovery to the management by this group. The Technicians, were the icing on the cake. Energetic, knowledgeable, attentive and engaged. More than once I had commented how 'mean' they were in keeping me working hard on my therapies. The tech's really had an eye for keeping their patients progressing and well taken care of. The administration is key to making everything run well, this is underestimated in most offices and Pack PT has the best staff keeping operations running smoothly, efficiently and with great care. In 12 weeks quad strength and full mobility had returned, by 16 weeks I was back to running, and on my 6 month anniversary Ill be climbing Mt Whitney... I was a client of PT Brody Pack, the previous business owner, who was great, so it was disappointing how different my PT at Rausch was. For a rotator cuff injury the hands on work from her was, in some sessions, just random, light finger massage over my t-shirt that I could have easily done for myself anywhere. No heat was ever administered at the start to warm up the area, as the PT work was so minimal. My PT tried a few times to put me with a beginner PT so perhaps she didn't feel my injury was worthy of her time, it felt like that - which is why I ended my treatment there. Pros here are the assistants who supervise exercises and the friendly ladies at reception. Overall not worth the copay. read more

I just finished up my therapy with the terrific team at Pack/Rausch PT in Dana Point. I had a total knee replacement and I know that my recovery was helped along to a great degree because of the treatment I received. Bryce,Brian and the amazing assistants were knowledgeable and helpful. What really impressed me was that they were invested in my recovery. They made sure to treat any issues associated by the knee replacement providing relevant exercises and information along the way. They were patient and informative. I'm so grateful for Catherine who is not only an active part of my recovery but there for me through this long process of the emotions that come with healing an extensive injury! This is going to be a LONG review... So if you want the shortened version: Go to Rausch PT in Dana Point!!!!! PERIOD. I've been to at least 4-6 different PT locations over the years and they have all been "okay". At all previous locations the routine was similar: initial consultation with therapist, development of therapy plan, followed by multiple routine office visits. Results were okay with "some" improvement. Then their is Rausch!!! Rausch is MORE than head and shoulders above the rest. From the moment I walked into Rausch I felt the difference. Nikki (front desk) is ALWAYS genuinely friendly, efficient and helpful. She is energetic and knowledgeable with insurance issues/ billing & scheduling. She ALWAYS is prompt with returning phone calls and/ or emails. Although this is probably not your primary priority in a PT center, it's refreshing and sets the office tone. Now the therapy: I first saw Dr. Ruth. My ailments are lower back, thumb, and hip. (Post hip replacement). After initial consultation and exam she developed/ initiated and implemented a PT plan. Wow, did I see results and improvement!!! Her enthusiasm and dedication are second only to her knowledge, training, and ability to treat your physical issues. Every visit is like a first visit, meaning it's never a "routine" where you feel like progress has stopped, or flattened out. About 50% of my visits are with Kathryn however. Kathryn is also amazing in her abilities, interest in your improvement and techniques!!! She has completely different methods and PT which further speed up my recovery. Between Kathryn and Dr. Ruth my progress has been unparalleled! I've never before looked forward to going to PT but at Rausch I certainly do! Why??? Because of how much it helps and how fast I'm seeing/ feeling results. GO TO RAUSCH for your PT needs!!! You won't regret it! read more

I had ruptured my Achilles' tendon and had been referred to another PR clinic, after my first visit at another location and wasn't satisfied with the therapist and rehab plan, I was looking for a new PT and found Pack. The team is amazing and have seen positive results since my first session. They are very hands on, the treatment they use is something I hadn't had before but noticed a quicker increase in mobility than other injuries and PT in the past.
