I have been going to Wheenk periodically, for various injuries/ailments for almost 10 years. The front office staff is always helpful and friendly. Often going above & beyond to accommodate my schedule. I have been to other PT clinics and did not feel that my care was remotely close to what I receive at Wheenk. Therapist/owner Kristin has been wonderful. She clearly communicates what the treatment plan is, what exercises to do outside of the clinic & how I am progressing. I feel heard and respected with her, which is appreciated because it doesn't happen enough in healthcare. I always recommend friends and family to Wheenk because of their warmth & professionalism. I had been struggling with unbearable nerve pain for about 2-3 weeks. I told a friend of mine and she recommended this practice because she too, had experienced very similar symptoms to my own, a couple of years ago. It was in this place that she had found a gifted PT named Kristin and it was in this very same place, after resorting to so many other external resources, that weren't working, that she was able to find both relief and a solution to her problem. After meeting with the same lady last week and experiencing her healing touch, manifested through the means of massaging, stretching, and stimulation involving electricity, I too came to the realization that this very gifted person was in fact, the real deal. She is gentle beyond belief, she knows how to adapt treatments in response to the patients needs, and overall her demeanor is warm, pleasant, and amiable. Within that hour long session, 75 percent of my pain disappeared and in the days to follow, after following her advice in performing stretches and using the combination of ice and heat to ease pain, I would say that about 95 percent of my pain has dissipated. If you are in pain and the chiropractor is it cutting it, come see Kristin or anyone else on this magnificent team of Physical Therapists. I am so glad my orthopedic office referred me to Wheenk. They do marvelous individualized work and don't ascribe to the no pain no gain philosophy. I had complicated hip surgery and am in a long recovery process. My therapy has already resulted in more strength and flexibility. You are treated exclusively by the therapist, not turned over to an aide. They listen to what you say and provide suggestions to alleviate problems. The whole staff is courteous and helpful. I was referred here from the military hospital for bilateral knee pain that prevented me from doing much of anything besides short distance walking. I've been seeing them about a month now and I definitely have a reduction in pain. My PT asked what my goals were and we're working towards it. All the staff is friendly and extremely accommodating. Professional, caring and effective. There are 3 aspects of this business that are exceptional. The physical therapists are all unusually professional, experienced insightful and skilled; also they work extraordinarily well as a team. Their way of treating patients/clients are one on one with a physical therapist; my only other physical therapy experience was greatly marred by having the very competent physical therapist also be the location director and office manager. As a result, she did not guide me in how to do the miriad of exercises she was having me do and I made very little progress in 2 months/3 x per week-result-still in a lot of pain all day every day. Julie the office manager/insurance handler/coordinator is one of the most useful, over-the-top competent extraordinary parts of this business. You don't run into this kind of individual very often or perhaps never! She is also very much a boon to the therapists. I've worked with 3 good therapists, mostly Nysa who specializes in my main complaint. RIght off the bat she noticed that I stand very crooked and had me look in a mirror and push my hips and ribs into place. I now do that periodically through the day; big difference. This is the place to go, you are lucky if you find it. Feel better. read more

All the staff here are knowledgeable, caring, professional, kind, and compassionate. Starting with Julie at the front desk, who offers the first wonderful image for the office and is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and such a pleasure to speak with, and ending with my physiotherapists, Nysa and Kelly, who have been amazing at making me feel better with every session, I only have the best things to say about this business. These professionals are very good at what they do! We were rear ended while driving our car on July 21st, and because I had my body turned towards my husband, who was driving, as we were talking, and hence I wasn't using the head rest when we were hit, and thus I sustained the trauma sideways, the impact was amplified and the pain and stiffness, headaches, and limited range motion were more significant than expected. Gaining back control of my neck and shoulders and getting the pain (neck, shoulders, headaches) to go away are paramount in keeping me going on with my life. As such, I have been very impressed with all the different physiotherapy modalities my physiotherapists have been using to adapt the treatments to my specific injuries and get me back in shape. I couldn't imagine recovery without their caring efforts, patience, and professionalism. The other day I missed one PT session due to a work related conflict, and it made me realize how important each session is in the continuum of recovery. I am making a slow but steady recuperation, and couldn't be more grateful to Nysa, Kelly, and Julie, for everything they do to help me get better. read more

This is a great place for your physical therapy. It is one on one for the whole hour. I wasn't left on a bike for 20 min and given to an aid. I had the physical therapist the entire time. There isn't a lot of equipment exercise wise, but I liked that too. It was easy to repeat the exercises at home. Thanks for getting me through my hip surgery! My 98 year old mother has been having PT with Jacque, twice a week. We couldn't be happier! The PT is modified for her needs and we continue to see improvement weekly. Not recommended due to lack of professionalism, lack of proper updated equipment and low quality of location and results. I had 15 sessions with Wheenk and my results where NADA, they have an old outdated method that does nothing and than they hook you up to some bogus electrodes and ice machines and leave the room. Truly poor experience, the receptionist was unprofessional, the only equipment is a old exercise bike they picked up from a local SC resident that was manufactured in the late 70's. Building is moldy and the space is only 2 rooms with a restroom, it is lacking proper rehabilitation equipment. The owner is a nice lady and I believe she has good intentions, but the staff and everything else is way below standards. To top it all off not only did my rehab waste my time and money, but they pulled the old bait and switch on me. I provided them with my insurance card which they used to bill for about 20 or so sessions and than I paid about $500.00 additional for what they claim that was not covered by my insurance. After i finished 15-20 sessions and it was obvious that it was a total waste, I got a letter in the mail from a collections company... The only clients that treat are mature patients in the age range or 65-85 years of age. Not recommend for any one who is below the retirement age. read more

Although the therapy I received was good my experience with Wheenk has been terrible. I hesitated to write this review to give them an opportunity to fix the situation or apologize but it never happened. The clinic billed an old ID number through my insurance which was understandable because of my complicated billing situation. I called them as soon as I found out to notify them that they needed to bill the correct ID number. I then went ahead and contacted my insurance and fixed their mistake. My insurance even transferred my authorization to the correct ID number so that all claims would go through correctly. I was told that my number was fixed and that it wouldn't happen again. A few months went by and I hadn't received any new claims or bills and I had stopped going because I stopped making progress. Finally I received a bill and it said that it was past due and that I owe $500. I called the clinic immediately and requested eobs because the balance doesn't seem right. I was told that they don't have access to eobs....if this is the case I don't know how they accurately post payments. I called my insurance to get them and found that the clinic had used the wrong number to bill again. My insurance said that the clinic needed to request them to be rebilled. I tried for months to get the clinic to fix it but they refused and demanded an incorrect balance. Finally I fixed it all and found I only owed $200 not close to $500 as they kept insisting. Bottom line, do not trust their biller. Really read your eobs and make sure they don't try to get more money than they are supposed to. Update:Kristen-I tried to fix this and speak with your clinic to have everything fixed but no one wanted to help. I did everything I could to help fix my claims but all I was met with was a demand for an incorrect balance owed. I don't think there is anything else to discuss. I understand you feel like your clinic did everything correct but I disagree. After reading through all the correspondence back and forth it is very apparent that your clinic didn't care about things being done correctly until I wrote this review. read more

I had a horrible head injury the first of December 2017, I was in Mission Hospital for 14 days. After I got out of intensive care I was sent to the therapy unit where I had Pt, Speech and Occupational therapy. After coming home from the hospital I had a week of at home therapy, but I still had an extreme problem with balance, horrible dizziness & cognitive issues, I was at wits end. Thank GOD I found Kristen at Wheenk Physical Therapy, she's been a lifesaver. Now for the first time in three months I have had a breakthrough, I'm so much clearer, the dizziness is subsiding, I'm starting to feel like my old fun self. read more

All of the staff here are very knowledgeable, caring and experienced. What a bonus that someone can get a free 15-minute consultation. Every other physical therapy business I've been to has been just that, a business. Here you receive one-on-one therapy for a full hour. Rarely have I had to wait beyond my appointment time. Julie, the receptionist, is kind, compassionate and goes out of her way to get appointments that work with your schedule, to explain the billing process and give assistance, if needed. I have come to Wheenk off and on for at least 7 years and have always been pleased. I have been going here for quite awhile. Kelly, my physical therapist, is THE BEST. I had a knee injury and was limping for over a year, and had already been to four doctors and two physical therapists when I was referred to her. In all that time, my injury had only gotten worse. Kelly was the only one who was able to help, and she helped so much! I was on crutches when I started with her, but with her expertise I was able to drastically decrease my pain and walk. On top of that, Kelly never gave up on me, and recommended a physiatrist as a different approach. It was this physiatrist who actually found what was wrong and recommended the only surgeon in the Southern California area who could fix me! And he did! Now I go to Kelly for post-op therapy. I can even run! I couldn't recommend her more highly! I also see Miki here for occupational therapy. My hands ache all the time with arthritis- like symptoms. Miki looked at the bigger picture of what could be happening, and actually discovered that all my time on crutches damaged the nerves in my arms going down into my hands! She has brought so much relief! On top of the medical expertise that I experience here, I feel so valued and cared for with every visit. My experiences elsewhere had me feeling like the medical industry was more like a factory, and I was just another defective part being inspected. But at Wheenk!, I was actually able to trust my providers. I relax when I'm there, because I know that I'm their first priority at that time. They have the scope of vision and knowledge to see all the aspects of my conditions, and listen and evaluate all my complaints. I am so blessed to have come here! I was first introduced to Wheenk! Physical Therapy 4 years ago, after an aggressive operation on both my left ankle and left knee. Thanks to the knowledgeable Physical Therapists at Wheenk!, I was back to running within months! I even completed my first half marathon just 12 months after my surgery. Although I have not needed further attention for my knee or angle, I continue to utilize the services at Wheenk!. Our daughter has mild torticollis and Kristen was recommended by several friends. Not only is she gifted in working with babies (and their mamas!) but she's a wonderfully calm presence and always willing to answer mom questions. I had a 10-star experience with an exceptional occupational therapist, MIKI BERNAL, working at Wheenk. She is absolutely beyond well educated & has a definte understanding of what she does. She took the time to evaluate my condition (which was a total disability of my left hand & forearm after a fall & consequent corrective surgery). She had a plan & knew what she was going to in order to restore function. She clearly demonstrates her love for her job & the passion she has towards her patients. She is naturally gifted with the perfect magic hands to do the job. She walks the extra mile & goes above & beyond to achieve best results. All this is expected after over 45 years of practice, but what is truly stunning about Miki is her humble spirit, her meekness & kind soul. Her genuine warmth & welcoming heart disolves all the fears that a person would have in a disabling situation like mine. She is capable of utilizing the very basic & the most advanced devices in an equally effective manner to bring the desired outcome. I am forever grateful to God for not keeping all the angels in heaven & sending one of them to work for Wheenk & use her to restore FULL function, range of motion & power to my left hand.
