I loved my experience at WAV. I worked primarily with Dr. Jenna--she is very skilled, knowledgeable, caring, and a joy to talk with. I also got to work with Dr. Scott Parrish--he is excellent! For my gyrotonics/exercises, I worked with Wendy, Eric, Beth, and Alicia Parrish--all of them were wonderful, contributing different valuable perspectives as they guided my movements and recovery. Selah and Emily at the front desk were always very friendly, hospitable, and helpful in scheduling. It's a well-organized business and a great place to be! Spoke with Laurie - the office manager - who argued with me and would not let me speak to the owner - Holly - Holly told me that they took Medicare - and so I contacted my Dr to get a prescription - When I called Laurie to confirm that the prescription was faxed over - she said that the prescription was not received- I went to the Dr and picked up the prescription and then went to the Therapy office to drop off the prescription - Laurie took the prescription and was not communicative - when she would not respond to me - I opted to leave and call the following day to set up an appointment. When I called back - again, Laurie was uncommunicative. And she said that they did not take my insurance, whereby she wanted to argue about what had happened the day before. I asked to speak to Holly - the owner - and was refused. I would not have spent an hour to go to my Dr and then over to their office, had I been told that they didn't take my insurance. read more

Wow. Dr. Scott Parrish was highly recommended to me and now I know why. Aside from the friendliness and cleanliness my experience at WAV was nearly a miracle. I am an active person and have had a few injuries. My right knee I had meniscus surgery on over a year ago and after a long trip recently my "good knee" failed. I could barely walk! Actually had to use crutches off and on for the last few weeks. I started going in for therapy and had infrared, tens unit and ultrasound at another facility. I also was icing and elevating many times a day. These seemed to help a little. Then I finally made an appointment at WAV, due to my friend strongly urging me to try them. After ONE very deep and painful (only momentarily painful!) session with Dr Parrish I was nearly pain free! It was like a miracle. At the initial consultation Dr P explained the mechanics of my knee and how everything is connected to support it and how the deep treatment helps release the tightness. It made perfect sense and it worked. That was Friday, and I had a very nice weekend and for the most part I had no pain- even when I slept! I had been struggling for weeks to get into a position that was not painful for my knee. I was dreading the potential need for another surgery! I had my second session yesterday and he added on a few exercises on the Pilates machine. It all felt good and I was able to do without it hurting! I can't wait til Friday and my next session. Wow. I didn't know Gyrotonics existed and immediately upon seeing it, I knew it is what my body has been craving for years. Now 6 months in, I can confirm I love this studio and all their offerings. Classes are small, instructors are AMAZING and the vibe of the place is really conducive to full-person wellness. I have just finished up with several weeks of PT at WAV for a broken foot. I have sprained my ankle a few times and been to other PT places in San Clemente but this place is so different. You get personal attention each visit for the whole hour allotted to you. Katie the Physical therapist along with Dr. Scott Parish came up with a plan to best suit my situation. Each visit Dr. Scott would spend time doing deep tissue massage on my foot then I would work with Katie on strength and balance exercises. She would always stay with me for all the reps and sets making sure I was doing each one correctly. Plus it was so interesting working on some pilates machines. All the other places I had been to just tell you to do the exercises and call them when you finish for further instruction. Also I don't like wasting time icing during the appointment as I feel I can do this at home. Katie and Dr. Scott also gave me exercises I could do between visits. Lydia the office manager was very helpful in securing my insurance, answering my questions about billing and would quickly return calls and messages left. You can text them which I like. She is highly efficient. I also had the pleasure of having a massage with Tamara . She made me feel great and was very careful with my foot injury. Absolutely the best physical therapy studio around! Dr. Scott is amazing. I've had other physical therapists and while they were well meaning, the physical therapy was boring and ineffective. The gyrotonic machines are fun and powerful! The movements are gentle, but extremely effective. I started going here before and after my knee surgery. Dr. Scott addresses not only my knee, but my hip, ankle and gait as the misalignment contributed to the deterioration of my meniscus. After we fix my knee, I will be woking on my neck and back alignment! I am 65 and plan to continue being active, walking straight with a strong back and enjoying life as much as possible. Dr. Scott started as a massage therapist many years ago ( you will benefit from that training :), he is a certified physical therapist and went on to attain his Physical Therapy Doctorate.
