We visited this cute coffee shop for the first time this weekend. It did not disappoint. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious. The coffee was great and I loved that they had a list of sugar free flavors to choose from. The staff were so friendly and really care about customer service. The ambiance was so charming. I love how they support the other small businesses around them by decorating with the local botanical shops plants and handing out doggie treats from the local pet care shop. I stop in here for coffee just about every time I go to Culpepper! Yesterday I was disappointed! Instead of making my own sandwich, I decided to pay someone else to make it for me. I ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel and tip them 33% (happy to have someone else make my lunch) They asked what I wanted on it. And then brought a plate with everything spread out on the plate. I had to spread the cream cheese, place the capers, the lettuce, the tomato's, the salmon.., I had to make my own freaking sandwich!!! I got my hands messy in the process then had to go wash my hands before eating the sandwich that "I" made. The sandwich was very good. I just ask that you make it for me. Please!! We stopped in for a quick iced latte and they still don't disappoint. The coffee here is still excellent and the inside atmosphere is a great place to chill. The only thing I do not like is they still charge a dollar more to get your coffee with alternative milks in them, when most places have stopped doing that but we still like coming here. read more

Beautiful coffee shop. We come here when we're in town visiting after going to St Stephen's Episcopal church for Sunday service. We're greeted by the friendly staff, they do great taking our orders, they deliver the food to the tables when we're sitting to eat. We usually get a pastry (something sweet) and a savory breakfast sandwich for savory - all are delicious. Highly recommend for anyone coming into town! read more

Cute little cafe located in the heart of downtown Culpeper with some of the friendliest staff, coziest vibes, and largest scones I've ever seen. I stopped by Raven's Nest while on my way back to DC from a hiking trip in Shenandoah, and I was in desperate need of a cozy spot to read and fuel up on calories and caffeine before continuing my drive into the city. After seeing Raven's Nest on a few Shenandoah visitor's guides, I figured I might as well poke my head in. The barista was incredibly friendly and greeted me warmly, walked me through the menu / was super ready to answer any questions, and had the most calming, podcast-like voice. I ended up grabbing a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and tomato on an English muffin, as well as a latte and earl grey scone. I really enjoyed how cozy the vibes were, with the natural light flooding the entire space and the comfy couches / armchairs. I was a little bit less impressed by the food and drink, but it still hit the spot after a long week of trekking through the wilderness. The breakfast sandwich was solid and warm, but honestly not anything particularly fancy and not super worth the price (~$13). The latte was quite strong and definitely satisfied by caffeine craving, but it wasn't particularly flavorful. And finally, the scone, while massive (it was double the size of the breakfast sandwich), was a little bit too dry and sweet, and it didn't have a ton of earl grey flavor. read more

A super cute Cafe. There's some street parking around and we didn't have any issues finding a spot at all on a Sunday morning. The staff is really nice and they have a bunch of flavors and sugar flavors. Their Pastries all looked delicious but we opted for the Cranberry Biscotti which we dipped in our lattes. They also have Gluten Free Pastries! Their menu also includes breakfast foods and some other sandwiches. Wine beer and cocktails too. It's really cute inside and the s'mores latte was delicious. Coffee Stop No. 326 (February 3, 2024) Spread a little happiness! Raven's Nest Coffee House is definitely a place you don't want to miss when you're in Culpeper, VA. They spread happiness in all sorts of ways. I barely know where to start. The cortado's temperature was bit hot, but it didn't completely affect the taste which means their coffee bean is pretty awesome. Speaking of their coffee bean, Raven's Nest roasts their own beans. There are a variety of different bags for purchase at the front of the coffee house. You can't miss them because the bags are artsy, colorful, attractive and unique. The best part is they are for sale! Raven's Nest aesthetics complements the Downtown of Culpeper, which is a historic town dating back to 1759. Vintage metal chairs, a brick storefront, a tin ceiling and plenty of indoor seating add to the charm of the coffeehouse. Besides cortados, stickers and postcards are some of my favorite things and Raven's Nest had both for purchase! The first picture of this post is their postcard. I couldn't help it. I bought several and sent them out to friends. The name "Ravens Nest" in itself is such a cute name for a coffee shop, and when I visited I wasn't let down. Inside is super cute but not very study friendly unless you have headphones. Sorry everyone, yes I'm "That" person who tries to study at coffee shops during peek hours. (Don't Judge Me! ) When I looked up from my computer most people were chatting about. The vibe and energy inside was great. Definitely a community place. If you like a cafe that's for locals, this is your place. Also very kid friendly. So bring the kiddos. We stopped in for a light breakfast and coffee and hung out for a bit until the rain slowed. Service was fast and friendly, they even bright our food out to us which was not expected but very nice. Two of us got a breakfast sandwich, another quiche of the day, another an almond apple muffin. Everyone liked their food. The coffee was just ok. The London fog latte was good, the mocha was ok, the plain black was very weak and not dark like it was supposed to be and the maple coffee was ok as well. The coffee was sadly mediocre but the vibe of the coffee house was great. Good seating, good decor. A lot of people from the Amtrak coming and going, a definite hot spot. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Small town charm? Familiar faces? Delicious coffee? Raven's Nest is the package deal. I love all of the amazing barista's: Alex, Josie, and Kelso are always willing to serve flavorful coffees. Alex always is helping me find my next favorite on the menu with his recommendations. The pastries are wonderful and I'm always trying something new. Grab and go in the morning is the best. They have fast service and I can always call ahead if I'm running late. They're patient and courteous. My favorite hobby is getting a table outside and reading. If you're indecisive, I recommend a coffee flight and to sit for a while. The place was clean and as cute as a coffee place can get, and then some. Retail items and tables line the area closest the front windows. Straight ahead you order hot drinks, bagels, sandwiches such as breakfast sammies and chicken salad. There are some delightfully tempting baked goods on display like scones and coffee cakes. Great in house Coffee, sandwiches and pastries! It was crowded on a Thursday at breakfast time but we got a table outside. You step up to the register to order, they take Apple Pay and then you get your drinks at one section and your food at another. There's one person making the food down at the end but he did an amazing job with the chicken salad sandwich with bacon, lettuce and tomato on toasted sourdough. So good!! One is third wave coffee for the elite coffee lovers and the other is a little more kitschy with a plethora of flavored lattes on the menu. Raven's Nest is the latter. Located inside a historic building, the coffee shop sells all kinds of coffee drinks and pastries. I ordered the s'more latte in a medium cup and it was well-brewed and the perfect amount of sweetness. (Having a sweet tooth, most people would find it too sweet.) Good coffee, great scones. Lovely place to have breakfast. Well-behaved dogs (even our 75lb Goldendoodle) on a leash are welcome. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Service is quick even with a crowd. The only reason I can't give it five stars (after much consideration) is, I got asked to leave because I was barefoot. After a civil back-and-forth email exchange where I explained I go barefoot for health reasons, that there are no health department, insurance liability, or other legal reasons to deny entry, the matter remains unresolved. We still stop by occasionally, but my wife goes in to order. Note: I have been coming into Raven's Nest, and pretty much every other business on Davis Street for years barefoot without incident. The servers are knowledgeable and quick and recognize their regulars which is always good to see. They offer a lot of specialty flavored syrups for your fancy lattes including sugar free, and there are also your standard milk alternatives. They were quite busy when I stopped in for a coffee to go, but they still turned out my order accurately in under 5 minutes. I call that a win! read more

Vegan Blackberry pop tarts are surprisingly not basic. The coating they have it's good. And there's enough filling inside is deliciously. Definitely a gourmet version of generic poptarts. Lavender London Fog is heavenly. Customer service is fantastic. The lady working greeted me a smile each time. Very consistent in customer service. She has lots of patience and speaks with clarity. Would recommend the business give her a bump in raise. She has consistency and quality is obviously present from the customer service I've observed.
