Stopped in on a Saturday morning for the breakfast buffet. CC does a breakfast buffet on weekends only - from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon. Sat at a table and then went for the buffet. Dished up a biscuit with sausage gravy on one plate; on another: a pancake, scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, corned beef hash, and a small bowl of breakfast potatoes. Plus coffee and water. The sausage gravy was pretty decent. I did add salt, black pepper, and hot sauce to the gravy. The scrambled eggs were overdone. The bacon is the most thinly sliced thing you've ever seen - it ends up being a series of curled up balls of bacon. The corned beef hash and pancake were actually pretty good for a buffet - although I would prefer more of a crisp on the corned beef hash. The breakfast potatoes were unremarkable. Coffee was average. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #CountryCookin

The coffee was great and I loved that they had a list of sugar free flavors to choose from. The staff were so friendly and really care about customer service. The ambiance was so charming. I love how they support the other small businesses around them by decorating with the local botanical shops plants and handing out doggie treats from the local pet care shop. Overall great experience and I cannot wait to revisit.

I ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel and tip them 33% (happy to have someone else make my lunch) They asked what I wanted on it. And then brought a plate with everything spread out on the plate. I had to spread the cream cheese, place the capers, the lettuce, the tomato's, the salmon.., I had to make my own freaking sandwich!!! I got my hands messy in the process then had to go wash my hands before eating the sandwich that "I" made. The sandwich was very good. I just ask that you make it for me. Please!! People go out so that they don't have to fix their own!!! Please take this to heart and make a change Thank you

The waitress was attentive and offered to refill our beverages (my ice water and my friend's sweet tea) many times and checked on us as well. The fish was succulent, fried to perfection, flavorful and moist and served with at least four, and more likely 6 ounces of tartar sauce that didn't skimp on the diced pickles. Two lemon slices (one for the ice water, one for the fish) accompanied my meal. The meal left me feeling full, satisfied and satiated and I wont hesitate to return again in the near future. Their breakfast menu was very reasonably priced and my colleagues fried eggs, french toast and grits looked delicious. Excellent portion sizes at very reasonable and affordable prices. A pauper could dine like a prince at Frank's Diner! The diner itself is tastefully appointed and was not overly loud, despite being at above 50% capacity. Wood paneling with painted white wall board with some interesting décor added to the experience. We left our charming waitress a generous tip in line with the excellent service. This is one of the best restaurants in the charming small town of Culpeper and I would encourage everyone to try it.

We all ordered the French toast breakfast, which was only $7, and honestly, for the amount of food you get, that's a great deal. First of all, the French toast portion was HUGE. Definitely come hungry! It was really good, and the sausage was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was that old-school, ground sausage formed into patties, and the flavor was so nostalgic. It immediately reminded me of the kind of sausage my grandmother used to make. The only real miss for me was the potatoes. I appreciated that they were actual hand-cut potatoes instead of the frozen cubes you sometimes get at restaurants, but they had absolutely no seasoning. Even just some salt and pepper would have helped, although onions and green peppers would have made them even better. Without ketchup, I honestly wouldn't have eaten them. I also had a peach mimosa, which was delicious and refreshing. Rachel, our server, was great. She was attentive without hovering and offered suggestions and recommendations, which I always appreciate. Overall, Grill 309 was a nice breakfast spot with generous portions, really good food, and especially good value for the price. It didn't quite blow my socks off enough for five stars, but I definitely enjoyed the experience and would give it a solid 4 stars.

The Sausage gravy was a white, almost flavorless gravy. You could see bits of sausage in the gravy, but it sure did not taste like anything. It was very underseasoned. I added salt, pepper, and hot sauce to impart some flavor to it. The eggs, corned beef hash, and hashbrowns were cooked properly. The corned beef hash is of the canned variety, but it was crisped up nicely. And the hash browns were crispy. I added a bit of salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns, and hot sauce on the corned beef hash. If I had not tried the Sausage gravy and biscuits - this would have been a 4 or 5 star review. My server asked me during checkout how everything was. I articulated my experience with the Sausage gravy. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. #4CsRestaurant

I already knew. Come on. But..ok. House made crab dip it is. It was like orange yogurt on a plate with hard, crunchy Pita bread for dipping. There was no crab visible or crab flavor at all. And as stated the "Pita bread" was hard. -went to the breakfast buffet in the morning, (free as its a partnership with the hotel) It was eh. Even though im not a fan of sausage gravy i did put a little on my biscuit. Its the sausage gravy that has miniscule sausage bits in it but doesn't smell or taste like sausage. Bacon was ok I guess. Im picky with breakfast. I love making my own. Anyway.. - That night coming back from events, We stopped in again for mozzarella sticks and chicken wings. These were good and a plentiful amount. Not 4 for $8 like most places.more like 7 or 8 for $12 which i feel is better. At least you're full. We noticed there was a buffet open! I asked about it. One time Salad bowl (not per pound) was $2.99 Wish I saw that before I got the mozzarella sticks! And a back room party with full on buffet and music I could hear in my room on the hill until 11pm. I didn't mind that at all. Because once the music went quiet, I could hear the butt smacks in my next door rooms.:( so where I would have given a 1 star the first night, I will give a 2.8 overall. We'll call it a 3. A LOT of locals come to have a good time and book rooms for party's and lots of buffets. Everyone seemed happy. Waitresses were nice.. we agreed to come back and put an extra effort into exploring all their options. (I didn't see peppers anywhere so not sure what the name is all about)
