Since the new ownership, the goods in the store can be found so many places. Nothing feels unique and the store now feels soulless. Almost all of the original staff have left under the new ownership. The website still claims that this is its focus, but in reality, very few of their items fit this description. I miss the old Alair, with soul, personality, warmth, kindness, and community at its core. It's a shame that under new ownership the business lost all of that. Update: Alair has petitioned for my review to be taken down from Yelp because they didn't like that I made a negative review-I have reached out to Yelp petitioning that I didn't violate any terms.

I found the employees to be lovely whenever I visited. They sometimes would tell me about an artist if I'm looking at their wares and I love hearing more detail about things but I never felt pressure to buy anything.  Also they sell anything under the sun here from jewelry to vases to clothes to things for kids and babies. Great variety. I found a random darling egg sticker for my friend who loves eggs and my friend found these cool mushroom magnets for her sister who loves mushrooms. See, this store is amazing!  Pacific Place is a shell of its former self. A lot of the stores have closed and it seems like most people who do come here are coming to eat at Din Tai Fung or HaiDiLao but if you're in this mall make sure to stop by the 3rd floor and check it out! Highly recommend it! There's something for everyone. The class offered by Running Stitch Fabrics was taught by Malinda Shirley. Malinda is a great teacher with an infectious positive energy, a lot of patience and knowledge. She brought a lot of samples and projects she has made. It was exciting to see the possibilities of incorporating sashiko into tote bags, quilts, placemats, etc. The quilt shop carries a wide assortment of notions, sashiko supplies, fabric, patterns, books and more. There are quite a few quilt samples hanging on the walls and on display in the windows. There is a long arm machine that you can rent after taking a basic longarm class or they offer long arm services. The owner Alice and her staff are very nice. I highly recommend Running Stitch Fabrics.
