In fact, my experience has always been the opposite and my daughters are 10 years old now. Both Lael and Kathy, the owners, even let them pick out little trinkets to take with them. It made my girls do happy! Now for my review. I learned so much from Kathy and Lael over the years that I am so thankful for. Their teaching is top notch and I highly recommend going and learning this form of art that is slowly becoming lost. If you think you aren't artistic enough, Think again. I can't draw, paint, sketch or sculpt to save my life, After going through their classes I feel like I am a talented artist. I also made lifelong friends there taking the classes. The students are a wonderful group of people! The other side of the business is fantastic as well! I love the attitudes and proud disposition of one of the employees named Cole. What I love most is that he has a gift shop type of attitude. He's aware that more than likely a customer is picking up something special for a special someone and he above and beyond to help you. I often observe employees and how they interact with other customers while shopping and he's a total sweetheart. He takes pleasure and care to make sure your family member or friend receives not only an awesome gift but that the presentation is just right. I love when he asked if I want my gift wrapped up and stated that "Presentation is Everything"...I love it... also as a side note, they actually supply stamps and would mail postcards out for you!!! They have a couple stores connected so there are fun photos, clothes and definitely Bainbridge/Seattle and Washington souvenirs. Definitely check them out when you're on the island.
